The gloom had overwhelmed the spark in one Infinite's heart. Within the abyss, one could lose themselves to the depths of despair. But with Jez's flame so close to his heart, could Zach's afford to not reignite? ... ... ... Zachary's eye throbbed. The announcement made of a returning member was met with a scoff. "What a load of bullshit. I'll believe it when I can see it with my own two eyes." Zachary Ackerson was able to maintain some semblance of composure when Davis had appeared before them, though it was probably only because he was in a rough mental state at the time and couldn't even think about the mastermind all that much. The guilt and self-loathing were of a priority then. Now, however, was another time. He had decided that he may as well push forward. He didn't think for a moment that he would be able to forget or forgive himself for the actions, but that did not mean he had to drag Jezebel and the others down with him. So long as there were others, then he could muster what little strength he had towards freeing them. While one could argue death was a potential way of freeing them, he preferred the freedom that didn't involve that. And because of that, he figured he should check this out. An Infinite returning to them? How absurd. It was not going to happen -- at least, now how they would want. What was the deal here? Someone impersonating the knight? A corpse being pulled along by some strings? Or worse: a newly-made Carnage Sister with what remained of her. Would Davis and the bear really stoop to such lows? Absolutely. Even if Jezebel suggested otherwise, Zach would continue on, being the first one to approach the elevator to see what was really going on. It wouldn't really be Shona, he was certain of this. And quietly observing some distance away was a certain red-headed cowboy.
