She is also, however, a relentless and rather ruthless force on the battlefield, able to be pragmatic and decisive with pressure and time constraints, despite how often she quotes her laxness.
[*]Though she remembers her mother and grandmother as strict, hot-tempered women who maintained their houses with iron fists, Shikano takes after her father in home mannerisms. Her husband, while not as overbearing as her mother, wears both the pants and the apron at home, helping to raise their son when Shikano is not around.
[*]Has a son who competed with Kazuhiko for top genin during their days at the academy. Personally, Shikano didn't care much about class rankings, and neither did her son. If anything, she felt for Kazuhiko, whose parents clearly did.
[*]Executes her shogi games quickly and precisely. Her attitude on the battlefield bleeds through a bit in matches with her son, who both admires and fears the player that comes out when he has the advantage.
