She has classic characteristics of Asian ancestry, naturally dark hair and eyes, which are slightly slopped. She carries herself well though and with pride. Niah has a light white tattoo on the inside of her wrist of a heart.

PSYCHOLOGICAL EVALUATION

Niah Bautista shows symptoms of survivors' guilt. This seems especially persistent since she applied to leave Earth. However, Ms. Bautista is extremely patient and kind to those she works with and is around. Even if she can be pedantic when brevity would be ideal.

CHARACTER PROFILE

Niah was born and raised in Manila Philipines until shortly after her tenth birthday. Her father a diplomat moved them to America. There Niah excelled in school until her sister went missing. They never found her. Niah almost lost all her will to continue to excel. That's how it was for two years when she was introduced to Forensic Files by a teacher. She fell in love with the concept. And was determined to get good enough to use the knowledge to find her sister. After Niah became an American she attended the best school she could for Forensic science - Penn State. There she graduated with honors and started her path for her career. She focused intently on it, however, she never found her sister. A part of her hopes it would still be possible, but the opportunity to go into space was too good to abandon. Niah has accepted that after more than fifteen years there is no way her sister is still alive, and if she was she didn't want to be found. That more than anything broke her heart. For Niah it was of little surprise that the Earth was heading to uselessness. She hopes that a reduced population will help recover the planet. Her curious nature and own 'otherness' kept her from being xenophobic.
