Wrinkles sprinkled his face as he smiled down on the newborns. "This generation looks strong." He said with a light smile. The older goblin picks one of the younglings up, examining it as he begins dipping his thumb in a paint-like substance, while christening each one with their names. This is where you were born. This is where your legend begins.
Day 3
Rays of light made its way into the cavern where over a dozen young goblins had just awoken. With their bodies drastically changed, most were already on their feet, familiarizing and adapting themselves to their maturing physiques. Although similar to a school-aged child in appearance, these monsters were more than capable of fending for themselves. A few minutes had passed and most of the young goblins were more than accustomed to their new selves. Their attention was now redirected towards the dilemma their instincts were telling them about. Echoes of rumbling stomachs were heard throughout their lair; hunger had finally struck their famished bodies. Outside the cave, sunlight shone through the trees revealing a luscious forest. The goblins were only a few days old, but they were mature enough to survive in the wild. Their stomachs growled and they all knew it was time to hunt through sheer instinct. There would be no helping hand through this process though; it was all down to the goblins themselves. They had to work from the ground up since single mistakes could potentially cause death.
Among the newborns, quite a few were up and about, either mingling with the other greenskins, busy with their own concerns, or just fooling around; some had decided to explore the insides of the cavern while a few proceeded to the outside in search of food. Saito was among the first few that had grown used to their child-like bodies; balance and coordination for him didn’t seem to be much of an issue as compared to the others. However, instead of moving about, he remained distant form the rest as he stood in a corner, seemingly observing the more rambunctious ones around him. Many of the goblins were still getting used to their arms and legs, while others remained preoccupied and absolutely fascinated with the most insignificant of things. There was a rowdy group that were hitting rocks together and against the cavern wall; each time that stone hit stone, they’d burst into a fit of giggles; among this group was Reshy, Ragi, and Aya. How long they would remain focused with their rock-related activities was anyone’s guess. Some remained quiet, hunched, and curled-up on the ground like Emri. He took glimpses of the other goblins but was hesitant to move around himself; whether this was out of fear or some sort of distress, this wouldn’t last long. It was near impossible for younglings to go against their primal instincts. Beside him, taking his time and enjoying his rest was Hoi. He was a strange one. Both a deep and light sleeper, quite a paradox. Hoi had woken up earlier before dawn, but as soon a he started walking around, he fell asleep once again. I guess he needed all the rest that he could get before starting his long day. At some point, a few of the newborns’ eyes suddenly widened as a whisper-like sound caught their attention. However, none were able discern where it came from or figure out what it was trying to say as most of it was drowned out by the sounds of their growling bellies.
Your characters are aware that they had died and have been reborn into goblins, but the circumstances of how and why this took place remain unknown to them. As of know, their memory of their past life is a bit vague and their ability to think rationally will be impaired; for now, they're running on their instincts to survive and eat. Feel free to interact with each other, with NPC goblins, or explore the cave, look for food, your call. For generalities on your surroundings, the cave is not that large, being able to fit around 50-60 goblins children. Aside from being moist and humid, there aren’t anything particularly unique here; everyone had slept on the floor. There are two narrow passageways; one leading to the outside where the rays of light are peaking through. Aside from the newborns, you don’t see anyone else inside the cave. Feel free to ask questions if I missed anything.
