[hider=Physical Description]The most unique characteristic of Shay’s would be her stormy gray eyes. It appears if her eyes hold an eternal storm in them. They are adorned with thick eyelashes and a catlike appearance to them. Her eyebrows are straight, normally neatly plucked. Shay has a natural sun-kissed tan, unlike her siblings. She proudly will say, “She got it from her mama” without any guilt. Her skin is normally treated with self-care almost 24/7, leaving it silky and smooth. She has high and sharp cheekbones, giving her a striking and intimidating demeanor. Her nose is crooked from being broken and is upturned. Shay’s teeth are crooked with full-lips normally adorned with lip gloss. Her raven-black hair is normally tied into a braid, bordering on unkempt  on most days. When it’s down, it’s voluminous and thick. She often ties it into a braid since it’s annoying when it’s hot. Despite her father’s wishes, she has a blue tint in her hair. Shay is taller than some girls, standing at 5’9, almost 5’10. She often over-eats, then feels guilt later and tries to keep her body in shape. Her nails are often painted, ranging from purples, reds and blacks. When she’s feeling low, her hair is messy, her nails are chipped and she lacks her usual luster.[/hider]

[hider=Shay's Personality]Shay comes across as a wonderful person, and indeed she is. Despite not being friendly and coming across standoffish, once she warms up to someone, they will see a different side of her. She’s kind, loyal and a fierce friend. She values her loved ones and would sail beyond the seven seas for them. She’s quick-thinking and takes most people by surprise with her actions or words. With outstanding bravery, she’s often in trouble due to her recklessness. Shay’s often scolded for it. Her humor is broad, ranging from sarcasm and sassy retorts to blunt insults and passive-aggressive taunting. When the situation calls for seriousness, Shay doesn’t back down. She doesn’t give up easily and can become depressed if something doesn’t work out correctly. Her patience could use more work, which is something she practices often. 

When she is bored, Shay’s likely to end up in trouble due to her mischievous and curious nature. Her resilient nature comes in strong, and she often gets back up after a failure. This sometimes angers her family, since she’s quick to bounce up and continue trying since she doesn't accept failure well. Shay’s esteem balances delicately on the line of arrogance and cockiness as well. Shay has surprisingly decent leadership skills and charisma. A lion at heart with a snake-mind, she is unpredictable. [h3]》History[/h3]
Shay was born into a tight-knit family coven. Her parents, Alice and Tom, had struggled to conceive, so Shay being born was a gift. The entire family spoiled her as well growing up. The coven was small, wealthy and powerful. They excelled at a variety of spells, one of them being the youth spell. Shay showed an affinity for magic at a young age. She wasn’t taught though, and sent to a boarding school to focus on her studies. She didn’t care much for them however, and displayed more of an interest in athletics. Studies bored her so she found herself in trouble often as a young kid. It continued as she grew older; she was into partying, drinking and smoking. Once she began learning magic, she calmed down. She reduced her partying and antics in reward for learning more spells. 

When her 21st birthday arrived, Shay was beyond excited to go out and party that night. Her entire family came to protect and celebrate with her. After all, she was their prized jewel. After a few hours, Shay went to fix her makeup in the bathroom. That’s when terror struck: Evander, her warlock who had been kicked out due to dark magic, arrived at the restaurant with the Holy Saviors. He proclaimed that they had used voodoo on him and hexed his family. Her family was brutally murdered, except for Shay who had been hiding. The people inside the restaurant had been spared however, claiming they were a “violent gang” that would “kill them”. Nobody dared to speak up. Shay escaped through the bathroom window. Some of the Holy Savior members were outside and saw her escape. For weeks they hunted down Shay, nearly succeeding in capturing and murdering her. She was able to escape, however and relied on dark magic to help her. She was homeless, broke and terrified, not to mention devastated. Her entire coven was gone.

One night, a young man offered to help Shay during her time of distress when she was hiding in Alexei’s after traversing into Ember Grove. He approached her with kindness and understanding and offered her protection from the witch hunting Holy Saviors and place to call home. Just a drive away he said. Not too far he said. Safe and secure he said. The latter was half true. 3 out of 4 ain't bad, right? Wrong! 

Shay was driven by the young man to a gated community he called New Paeonia. Entering the gates was the last thing she remembered before waking up in a cell with a throbbing headache and wearing nothing but what resembled a hospital gown. That is when the true hell began. Shay was subjected to countless experiments, interrogations, and abuse by the Sanguine Moon Clan. She watched as other captives were killed and brutally abused, even when in compliance with the orders of the vampire captives. She experienced something most don't. Knowing what true cruelty was and even seeing the face of who she thought was the devil. One of the most perverse things done to her, was being forced to be the subject of a portrait painted by none other than Alexander Drake himself. He was evil incarnated in her eyes, enjoying every moment of her weakness. It was during this moment that he shared what would happen to her next. He wanted her impregnated and he wanted her eventual child to be subjected to testing as well. Shat broke down in tears within her cell that day.

If anything motivated her to escape, it paled in comparison to her drive to disappear before being subjected to rape and the experimentation of the child that would be the product of the tragedy. Shay organized her escape by feigning love for an ill experienced vampire who was guarding her. She promised to give herself to him if he changed her. She didn't wish for a violent death and  provided him with a recipe for a "death potion." The fledgling obliged and later offered up his blood and the potion that would kill her. She ingested both and as she slipped into a near death coma, the vampire escaped with her and set her body in a cave where she could emerge as a new child of the night. Shay's deceit and desperation worked smoothly. The moment she woke, she incapacitated the young vampire and ran for her life. Shay is currently willing herself to get to safety, one step at a time.
