Appearance: Namiko is 4'11", very slender build. She has long light blue hair, almost falling like a waterfall down her back. During missions, she will put it in a ponytail. She has clear white eyes, similar to the Hyuuga clan of Konoha, although there is a barely noticeable deep blue ring on the outside. She wears her Mist headband on her head; up like a hairband when around town, down on her forehead when training or in a mission. She wears a white t-shirt underneath a dark blue jacket that she usually wears open. On the back of the jacket, she's painted the kanji of the ocean, and inside of it, the symbol of the leaf, a nod to her heritage. She completes this outfit with black pants, and a pair of black boot-like sandals.

Personality: Namiko is a lot like the water her ninjutsu is based on. She just goes with the flow, she's usually very calm and easygoing, although if things do get to be a bit too much, she will start blowing off some steam. She has a big link to the ocean, spending a lot of her free time, as well as some of her training time out there.

Strengths: Chakra Control, Speed, Intelligence

Bio: First, a bit of family history. Interland relationships were gaining in popularity, especially after the Sand/Leaf union with the Kazekage's sister marrying one of the top Konoha genin. Eventually even the most tight knit families found members looking across borders for love. This included the Hyuuga family. One of the younger women, whose husband had been killed during a mission, had caught the eye of a traveling chunin from Kirigakure. Both the main and branch families were heavily against it, and forbade the woman from even leaving the grounds. The woman didn't take this lying down, and eloped with the chunin, making their way back to his hometown, and bringing her two year old son with her. The Hyuuga were furious, but the Land of Mist were holding their ground. They refused to extradite the woman back to Konoha, and so the Byakugan was in the hands of another family. The woman's son eventually grew up, under his stepfather's name, and the Land of the Mist was proud to boast the second family of the Byakugan, the Aritayos.

Namiko is a direct descendant of the original couple, born in Kirigakure, and raised near the ocean. Her parents saw that she immediately took to the water as if she was born in it. She grew up studying her past in order to fully understand the powers she inherited. She showed an aptitude for being able to see precisely where the chakra flow of a person was, and pinpoint where to strike to best knock out the power flow. However there was a problem, she was very weak. Even for the "Gentle Fist" techniques, she still couldn't get enough behind them to do enough damage to incapacitate. Her arms would fly like windmills, she had incredible limb speed, but she couldn't power through. Her father took this as a sign that she might be a more effective fighter if she had a weapon she could use to transfer her limb speed into a direct attack. After a year, he came up with a combination between a whip and a sword, that would allow the momentum of Namiko's swings to be channeled through the razor sharp pieces that made up the whole sword. Namiko took to it immediately, finding her chakra could even be channeled through it, for better control of where the whip was heading.

As she got older her strength improved a bit, but not nearly enough to ever be effective at taijutsu, so she stayed with her whipsword, improving her flow with it so she could deliver quicker blows. It's range suited her well. She didn't even need to use ranged weapons like fellow prospective shinobi she attended school with. That sword was a swirling dervish that she controlled almost like an extension of her arm. Because of this, when she was finally ready to be promoted up to genin, she rose to the top of the ranking in her class. This meant she would be quite useful in the inter country alliance against the Demons that had risen. She was ready for whatever they wanted to throw at her, she would just repel it right back, like the waves sending the water back to the shore.
