    The Circle of Cosmos was founded in 1947 by Witches and Warlocks who were of the mind that science and Magic were not separate. Everything has a place in the universe, everything is a building block for something bigger, why is magic any different? 
 
    So, these like minded individuals began to research with the meager amount and quality of equipment available. Does Magic exist as its own form of matter, what areas of the brain are in use when a warlock casts spells, can magic be accessed or activated via machine, does magic exist outside of our planet, would it even work in space? These questions are just a small sample of the vast amount being asked, and answered, by The Circle of Cosmos.

    Over the years The Circle of Cosmos grew, gained members and facilities. Now there is a Cosmos Lab in every major country, all studying the origin and application of Magic. In Ember Grove a Cosmos lab has recently been erected, said to be placed there for the study and experentation on the strange properties the town is rumored to have. A perfect opportunity for a test.

    In the Eyes of The Circle of Cosmos, all magic should be explored to it's fullest. Though, some would disagree. Forbidden or 'Dark Magic', as some call it, is banned from practice or research by The Circle of Ancients. The Circle of Cosmos and the Circle of Ancients have butted heads over this since the conception of The Circle of Cosmos, but in 1999 Maeve Brannigan found a member of The Circle of Cosmos guilty of practicing forbidden magic, and executed him. This member was none other than Daniel Meitner, the husband of the Circle of Cosmos' own leader. It was a challenge and a message, and the message was clear. Do not question the Circle of Ancients.

    Since then, as far as anyone knows, The Circle of Cosmos has stayed in line. Only doing approved research. Though there is bad blood between the two covens, nothing has sparked further conflict.
