Rather Kavan would say the same about her, Ariel didn’t know. One thing she was sure of, however, was that she owed him a big one for both his company and the record he had gotten her. Swaying along to the beat of the music, Kavan and Ariel weren’t really dancing so much as looking for their friends. Marisol hadn’t made her entrance yet, but Shawna had. Unfortunately for Ariel, so had Kavi and his date for the night. Kavi had chosen to go with no other than Chrissie McCoy - Kings Academys All American Dream Girl, if you will. Ariel had never pegged Chrissie and Kavi as friends, but here they were. Knowing Kavi, he wasn’t really planning on being ‘just friends’ for the night anyway. The thought left a bitter taste in Ariels mouth, one that no amount of punch could wash away. The stupid pink stripes on his shirt almost made up for how happy he looked. Almost. Ariel always knew she wasn’t Kavi’s usual type, but seeing him with someone who was his type… In a way, Chrissie was what Ariel had sort of always strived to be. Effortlessly pretty. Loved. Adored. Confident. Ariel had always thought of herself as too skinny - too pale. And here Kavi was with what was exactly his type. Tall-ish. Long legged. Smiley. Curvy. He was happy and she was a complete and utter mess. It felt like the Universe refused to give her any sort of break these days. While it had only been a few short weeks, and her mind could be jumping to it’s usual trouble causing conclusions - it seemed as if Kavi had moved on. Meanwhile, here was Ariel, still tagging him in memes and answering his texts at two in the morning because they were still ‘friends.’ How much more stupid could she possibly be? If anything else, this was just more proof that Kavi didn’t mean what he said. Kavi wasn’t the sort of guy that changed, and he kept showing that time and time again. With a defeated sigh, and a head full of thoughts, Ariel did her best to blink the tears from her eyes before they had a chance to form. ”I’m just going to go grab a drink real quick,” she said to Kavan. ”Maybe stop by and say hi to Shawna or something. I’ll catch up with you later.” After she had gotten the approval from Kavan, Ariel made her way over to the punch fountain. While she and Jasper were never close, they were friendly, and she knew that Jasper was usually the one to spike the drinks at the Kings Academy events. Promptly grabbing a cup from the stack beside the fountain, Ariel held it under a stream of the fountain impatiently. She downed her drink in one very unladylike gulp before snatching a clean glass to grab another drink. Time to do what she did best: get drunk and dance her troubles away. Thank the gods for Jasper Fray, she thought.
