Okay folks! I went ahead and made my own character's CS, and you can use this as an example of what I'm looking for with the characters in the story. I'd like to see a little bit of backstory, with a smidge about their home life as well. For example, Will comes from a middle-class suburban family, but the family is strained due to the death of his older sister 10 years ago. He can tell you the difference between a sasquatch and a yeti, and how the loch ness monster is just a plesiosaur. Reserved: Being the monster kid doesn’t really get you invited to a lot of parties. Due to his lonesome nature (who wouldn’t completely recede inside themselves when their best friend and big sister kills herself?) Will is quiet. That comes with perks though; he’s unassuming and easily forgettable. That’s...useful in some things, right? Awkward: Being the loner kid most of your life doesn’t prepare you for talking to others, especially those of the opposite sex. Will’s better off stuttering or muttering about vampires than actually talking. Obsessive: The death of Sarah (his sister) has been weighing on him for ten years. The fact that he recently uncovered a diary of hers with entries talking about some similarly weird things happening now has set him on a one-track path to uncover what’s going on, and he’s willing to sacrifice everything to learn the truth.
Family History/Backstory
William Morgan was born in Doc Sparrow Memorial Hospital, October 23rd, 2003 to Eugene and Kathleen Morgan. His older sister Sarah was extremely close with him, even though she was nine years older than he was. Sarah’s obsession with old school horror quickly drew her brother in, and the two bonded over that. On July 15, 2010, Sarah was found dead in Cider Park, alongside six other teenagers. It was ruled a suicide. Will underwent a change after than, becoming sullen, distant and ultimately disconnected with most of the world. The Morgan household also changed. Eugene seemed to distance himself by delving into work at the local hardware store that he managed, and Kathleen began doing extra work with the local Presbytrian Church. The house became cold and empty. Will’s life became horror movie reruns, school work and the occasional video game. Then summer came. A chance to visit his aunt and uncle in Portland died quickly after they told him that the virus was still contagious in the city. An attempted trip to a horror convention in Bangor also died. He seemed stuck in town. Then he found the journal.
Other Info
Will technically has a driver’s license, but since he has to borrow the family’s Ford Fusion to get around (and since his dad has been working extra shifts) his normal method of transportation is an old Schwinn bicycle. Will does not have a summer job, and spends a lot of his time at the library, finding his own house stifling, especially when his mother has church friends visiting.
