As a show of my interest and current work, here's a character sheet that I am tinkering with:
[ hr][ hr]
Nele
[ hr][ hr] Name
Thérèse Claesdochter de Reus
Nom De Guerre
Cornelia "Nele" Perrin
Age
25
Gender Identity
Female
Sexual Orientation
Nautically Inclined
Position
Master of Sail (Navigator)
Appearance
Unremarkable in stature and affable in nature, Nele nonetheless comes across as a dangerously capable sort of person, provided the matters at hand relate to astral navigation, whiskey, or nautical superstitions. She has thoughtful eyes of green, that gaze at the stars and celestial bodies with longing. Lips, persistently chapped by salt, rest in a lazy and gentle smile, unless someone interferes with her navigation. Her skin is painted a shade of olive, and is colored by the warm embrace of the sun, intermixed with a respectable number of scars, both large and small. When permitted to be free, Nele's hair would cascade down in thick brown waves, but ever the pragmatist she takes care to keep her locks tied into a careful knot at the nape of her neck, secured with a pair of silver pins she acquired early in her travels. Years spent living a nautical life and offering her service to captains with a healthy mix of moral compulsions have afforded the young woman with a lithe, athletic build. Born to sail the seas, Nele moves with the practiced, almost lazy grace of one of the many wretched creatures, called sailors, that prowl the decks of any ship that crosses the seas at a steady clip. Beyond favoring extravagant hats, Nele dresses for the occasion at hand, although it is rare indeed to see in her wearing a dress. She holds no loyalty to a nation or company, but believes only in the boundless freedom afforded by a ship with strong winds in its sail. Although measured by nature and gifted with an intellect ideally suited for plotting the complex course of a vessel by starlight alone, Nele does not always make the best decisions and she has experienced her share of troubles with the strong-arm of the law. A wanted pirate, she would argue privateer in the Empire of Gallinia, she lives by an adopted name and identity. Witty and fond of boisterous company, Nele nonetheless keeps most people at a healthy distance, preferring whirlwind romances that end in tears when in port and shallow but entertaining friendships based on professionalism when sailing the vast ocean.
Biggest Fear
Imprisonment and death are two events that Nele is keen to avoid. Both represent a singularly unpleasant and disappointing end to the grand adventure that she perceives and desires her life to be. Having made an enemy of the Empire of Gallinia, Nele is convinced that if she should fall into the hands of Imperial agents justice will be meted out in a most summary fashion and she will end her life dancing the hempen jig. The alternative, a lengthy stay in one of the dark dungeons of the Empire of Gallinia at His Majesty's pleasure seems as problematic of a proposition to Nele as a swift death. As such, the young woman is keen to preserve the secrecy of her true name and illustrious past as a privateer.
Greatest Dream
Nele dreams of escaping her past as an unwlling pirate and to start her life anew in a new place, a better place, a place uncorrupted by the follies of men and their endless greed. Perceiving this to be a rather impossible goal, she'll happily settle for another great adventure to the edges of the known world.
