See, I got a slap on the wrist for advertising for my own Discord RP idea. Kind of frustrating to hear other people get to do it but I got told no.
I think the difference lies in "only advertising the RP here" (it's a forum, not an ad site like Gumtree/Craigslist or whatever, you can't just use it to blast ads and I'm pretty sure that's listed somewhere in the rules though I do stand corrected as I'm simply a long-term member, not a mod or an admin) vs. "using Discord as a platform to chat/rp on while you're on the move and eventually moving stuff onto a forum thread" A lot of people find the site to be very unnavigatable on mobile (and as someone who was computerless for 2 years, let me tell you, it's a nightmare to do full-time) so oftentimes its easier to host OoC chats, collabs and the like on another platform like Discord, which has its own mobile app that makes it easier to type these things out, while you're on a break at work or waiting for the bus/train/whatever on the commute home (which I did frequently before the virus hit and also while I was without a computer and struggled to type on the Guild on my phone) and then move them back onto an archive/database thread here on the Guild once they're fully done and edited
