It wasn’t like she was trying to get there late as well, but by no means she felt the need to impress whoever would be impressed by an extraordinarily earlier arrival. That said, by the time their teacher stepped into the classroom she was one of the many students there, sitting close to a window, reading a book of many parables and deep philosophical meaning. Despite the looks she may cast, Eris wasn’t trying to avoid contact with the rest of the class. She merely had nothing worth of saying. Especially to her sister who probably wasn’t even aware Eris joined the same class as her. “A wise man once said: ‘Men are born with two ears and one mouth. If that’s true, then, does it not mean we should listen more than we speak?’” To Eris, such small pieces of ancient wisdom were worth more than anything. Thus, she never spoke when it wasn’t right. Times such as when their teacher asked them to introduce themselves, prompting all kinds of reactions from her soon-to-be classmates. “Eris Reinhardt. I expect us to have a productive year,” she said after standing up. The lack of answers regarding one of their colleagues’ less than appropriate comment prompted Eris to add, “Fools blame others for their own mistakes. Average people blame themselves. A sage knows that all blame is foolish. Now then, Lady Blumenthal, what of these do you see yourself as?” as she went back to her book.
[@Matsuri]
