Born to a middle class Korean American family Ryo grew up under the harsh laws of the federation. To make more money for his family Ryo joined a Korean American biker gang known as The Tigers when he was fifteen. Making a good amount of money for his family Ryo's life was looking good till someone tipped off the Federations police forcemainky gangs safehouse was raided when they were in possession of a few drugs mainly PCP and LSD. Among the multiple bikers there Ryo was one of them. Getting arrested Ryo was also informed that his family's house had burned down when they were still inside it. Really hitting rock bottom Ryo was waiting for his prison sentence when a scientist visited him in jail. The scientist gave him an offer to be in a experiment instead of prision. Naturally Ryo said yes and bough the first plane ticket to Norway where the experiment is being held.

Ryo despite being a biker is a fairly nice person who tries to get along with most people. Despite this Ryo also has developed a few trust issues because of the Federation.  Though he won't let these get in the way of making decisions. He usually makes his decisions on people after he has seen their actions and how they react to decisions. Besides that Ryo can also be pretty sarcastic though he means well and his very loyal to who he considers friends.
