The family’s history of creating toxic materials and dangerous potions soon became well known so they took the opportunity to drop into obscurity, hiding from the world at large to safely practice their magecraft in private, traditional families akin to theirs often had problems with their methods of practicing. The family operated entirely immersed in secret, only marrying those who were fully trustworthy, many members being cut off out of suspicion of them turning on the family. As the centuries went by the ruthless nature of the Powlus’ calmed down and the family continued operating as normal, working as creators of potions and concoctions that would be perfect for slaying magi, their idea of the perfect magus being one who could change with the times and adapt to the world whilst continuing their proud ideology. Jeremiah was born into the expectation, born in northern England, his existence was kept a secret from the Clocktower as the family vowed never to collaborate with such counterfeit magus, this however, was a skewed belief. His life was still a studious one, his elders piling work load after work load on the poor boy throughout his childhood, their pride of their magical circuits outweighing their care for his upbringing, leading him to become dissatisfied with society when he attempted to integrate with larger society during his teens. Used to a life of order and schedule, life outside of his teachings was somewhat annoying, the whole world seemed off to him, and the further he delved into learning of all the factions that controlled magic, his distaste for the ways of the magus began to grow, even for his own family, this however, did not affect his own love of his craft. Excelling in the art of chemistry and alchemy, he rose to be renowned by the family as their Toxic Heir, one who would inherit all the secrets of their deadliest weapons. He grew a dream of running away and abandoning his family, cursing this whole life of a magus, the whole world feeling like it had lost its way with this new century and deserved a little rewind and some things he knew he simply could not fix in theory. Yet with talk of the upcoming war, and an invitation, his aspirations for improving this way of Magus became stronger. Distaste with the Association for casting aside his family and bitterness towards his family for their closed off nature, barely letting him socialise with non-magus, he decided he would enter the war as the family’s heir, meaning he could use their wealth to prepare supplies, as well as avoiding any of their scorn. And so the arduous journey continued… _________________________________________ Elemental Affinity: Water, Wind Origin: Bubbling Quality of Magic Circuits: B Quantity of Magic Circuits: B Crest: 600 years old Magecraft: - General Magecraft: Jeremiah is proficient in the basics of magecraft, mastering most of them but having no personal interest in exercising any of the essentials, but can utilise them if the need arises. Bounded fields and slight divination are easily accessible to him. - Chemistry: Utilising an old form of alchemy and chemistry, Jeremiah has honed the family’s ability of concocting amazing and terrifying substances that can contain very different materials. His proficiency is in gases of the lethal variety, being able to produce acid from many different mixes that can be used to splash on opponents, as well as making gases that can burn the skin upon contact, this is an advanced version of mustard gas enhanced by infusing magical energy into his concoctions. His other specialties beyond this is creating explosive substances that can erupt upon impact of the container being fractured, causing a low grade explosion or simply releasing one of his gases. This is Jeremiah’s speciality and is able to create his concoctions from limited resources at an exponential rate compared to the average magus. _________________________________________ Mystic Codes: Basilisk Poison: A large pot of the acid was brought over with him to America, this poison was another one of the family’s most successful acquisitions, a powerful corrosive poison that can melt most organic substances upon contact, one drop of this terrifying poison can completely rip through someone’s body, completely shutting it down as it eats through the body. This substance can also be utilised by Jeremiah to add to his signature Chemical Bombs, unleashing a deadly explosion that will unleash the deadly poison as a hazardous gas. Fear Potion: A substance created to induce fear and hysteria in their enemies, the Powlus family have perfected their recipe for a fear potion, a serum that can be unleashed in either gas or liquid form, this requires Jeremiah to use his alchemy to create as it contains magical purposes. Applied to a victim, this serum will make the victim see hallucinations/visions of their greatest fears if they are susceptible to it, these visions will not be real but will appear so unless they have a high magic resistance. The serum only lasts for 2 hours maximum with a very large dosage which is practically a full glass of the liquid but normall lasts for short amounts of time. Mask of Purification: A mask of his own design, worked throughout his life since he was but a child, this mask has been modelled to protect Jeremiah from his own gases and concoctions, allowing him to brew in peace, the mask also allows his sense of smell to gain a small upgrade, allowing him to be able to smell magical influences when they are nearby. _________________________________________ Misc/Other/Trivia: Jeremiah has no ill will towards the clocktower but still believes that the whole system is flawed. As such, he has no idea that his magical circuits are quite adequate and above average as he has never really stretched the limits of his magic, always focussing on brewing and infusing magic into his creations rather than anything more extreme. Also, the mask he wears very rarely leaves his face, if it does so, it’s safe to assume something is wrong. - _________________________________________ Special Boon: Prometheus Serum : So called to match the god who stole fire to give to the humans, this specialised serum has been passed down through the Powlus line for generations, constantly changing as the new heir tinkers and perfects the recipe. At this stage of its development, this concoction is one that Jerry has in at least 5 vials worth, this serum made from slain magus’ and their life energy squeezed out of them, their very essence being worked into the serum. No one knows just how many souls have been slain to create this grand creation for excessive mana juice but usually this is sold by the Powlus’ and not utilised by them. In this case though, he was permitted usage of it as it would ensure victory. Placed inside injectors, one boost of the substance allows Jeremiah a brilliant stream of mana by super charging his circuits for at most 30 minutes at a push and makes his output of mana almost inhuman but afterwards his body will become fatigued and hard to even stand, so excessive usage of the serum will eventually just drain his life energy. This sort of boost allows his Servant to utilise their most mana draining moves for a period of time before the serum wears off.
