Yeah so just going over the charas it looks like the common link between our girls is some kind of criminal activity. Kind of weak links though since they are all under different circumstances: 

Avy pissed off some bad people by winning their money. -USA
Ricki's dad is in jail and she and her mom fled b/c fear of retaliation. -Canada
Sam was part of a robbery gone wrong. -France
