Tristesse sighs as she sits in a plane, her fingers drumming on the armrest, fidgeting. Admittedly, she is slightly nervous as she had never been outside of home before, nonetheless on anything flying. Not to mention the request to bathe with antibacterial soap and not eat anything. What is happening to her family? Did anyone even escape? She looks out the window, much too stressed and hungry to sleep. Exactly what had she gotten in to, she wouldn't know until she touched down.
A few hours later, she lands in Norway, still fidgeting and shifting in her seat. Her stomach drops and her ears muffle the entire world outside of herself as she is escorted off of the plane and to a nondescript building. The smell of the sea welcomes her; this is a new place (a way too cold one at that), but salty water is always a sign of somewhere safe. Somewhere that could be home. She is directed into a room much too sanitary to be normal and sits down. A nurse comes in and explains to her that she is going to be strapped to a gurney and brought to an operating room where her genetic modification surgery will take place. This surgery would entwine her DNA with a mantis shrimp's. She smiles and lays on the gurney. "This is going to be fun." She closes her eyes so as to not be bored looking at the scrolling hospital lights. A surgeon tells her to count backward from 100 as a mask is being latched onto her face and a haze fills her vision. "100, 99, 98,.. 97,.. 96,.. 95..., 94..., 93..., 9...2.." Her mouth opens a bit as she falls unconscious.
