5'4 in height, Summer is of a slim but athletic body type. She has always enjoyed sports and this keeps her in good shape, with her body being toned although not overly muscular. She has the basic lobe piercings in her ears but aside from this, she has no other notable tattoos or piercings.

Summer has well proportioned facial features and she is often described as pretty. Her skin is a pale ivory in colour, and surprisingly for her age seems to have no blemishes or spots. She has soft hazel eyes, which depending on the light can either look brown or green. Her ginger hair is a trademark of her family, and hers is worn long and usually in loose waves. 

Summer was brought up by her mother to always take pride in her appearance, and she consequently pays careful attention to her hair, clothes and makeup. It would be rare to see her looking a mess or with a hair out of place. She enjoys fashion and whilst she does pay attention to recent trends, she most often dresses in what is probably considered as a preppy style.

Some would describe Summer as bitchy. She is the type to lie to your face, gossip about you behind your back, and then insist that she's your best friend. This likely comes from a place of insecurity, having always felt lesser than her sister. She would rather be the one in control than let someone else lead and potentially let her down. 

However, she is also extremely outgoing and does not tolerate being by herself very well. She is constantly seeking the company of others, and whilst she has always found it easy to make friends, keeping them is sometimes another matter entirely. Summer enjoys being the centre of attention and has no issues with things such as public speaking or leading a group. She is a natural leader and does not mind taking charge when needed. When she feels comfortable with others, Summer is actually a rather playful and energetic individual, who can be quite charming when she wants to be.

Summer has a tendency to become hyperfocused on one particular thing. This has often proved to be a double-edged sword, as whilst she can be very productive & hardworking when she chooses to be, she will also often take to ignoring anything that isn't in her current sphere of interest. She is actually a lot more intelligent than she lets on and is a quick learner when she needs to be. 

A secret that Summer will never tell anyone, is that she wishes she had no emotions. She is often frustrated by how she feels and finds it hard to express her true feelings to others. Underneath the surface, Summer has a lot of anger and resentment, but she won't let anyone else see this.

The Abernathy family have been based in Virginia for several generations and has produced many witches who have dedicated their lives to the Sisters of the Dying Branch. Their ancestors were originally from a clan in the Scottish Highlands, who had been practising magic (or at least something akin to magic) for centuries. Like many others, they chose to migrate to America as immigrants in the 18th century after the union of England and Scotland. In at least memorable history, the Abernathys are known for their skill over healing magic. Their mastery over potions and healing spells has been passed down throughout the generations and it is practically expected that the descendants follow in the footsteps of their forebearers. As if to fit in with the ideal of a healer, the Abernathys like to maintain a 'prim & proper' air and are known for being extremely strict & unyielding when it comes to raising their children. 

Both of Summers parents were witches and they met within the coven itself. She was born as the youngest of two sisters, with her sister Olive being three years her elder. Olive was deemed as a prodigy from a young age, following in her mother's footsteps to become extremely skilled in healing magic and eventually joining the coven at the relatively young age of fifteen.

Summer, whilst a talented witchling in her own right, grew up under the shadow of her sister. She spent her childhood being compared to her and never living up to the expectations that her mother set for her. Whilst many other Witchlings chose a branch of magic to focus on, Summer always felt confused about where she wanted to focus her skills and has always had a particular dislike of healing magic. This has caused much tension between Summer and her mother throughout the years, who insists that she should become a healer too. Summer harbours a lot of resentment and jealously towards her sister, and the two do not get along very well, despite Olive being otherwise well-liked throughout the coven.

Luckily, her father was unlike the rest of the Abernathys. Whilst he was also skilled in healing magic, he preferred to stay a generalist and was understanding of Summers confusion. He was the only one who Summer has ever felt she can share her true feelings with, without fear of judgement or condemnation. However, only a few months ago did her father mysteriously go missing. No-one has been able to locate him and it is rumour amongst the older witches that he betrayed them for another coven. 

Outside of her tumultuous family situation, Summer loved her 'normal' school life. She was popular, excelled at most of her classes and enjoyed taking part in various sports. Summer particularly enjoyed gymnastics and track, although has dabbled in various different sports throughout the years. 

[color=f6989d][b]Notable Rumors:[/b][/color] It's a common rumour that Summer has dated many people, when in fact she has not even had a first kiss. 

[color=f6989d][b]Greatest Fear:[/b][/color] Summer has a pretty significant fear of clowns. So much so, that she once punched one at a friends birthday party when she was five years old. 

[color=f6989d][b]Magic:[/b][/color] Summer has yet to find a branch of magic that she prefers and is currently what the coven would deem as a 'generalist'. She has been toying with illusion and teleportation magic but so far this has been nothing more than a lingering interest. 

Most recently she has been experimenting with the idea of sacrificing emotions as penance for utilising strong magic. She, of course, has yet to do anything of the kind but hopes to learn more once she joins the coven.

[color=f6989d]Strengths[/color] 
Illusion magic: this is only something Summer has begun to play with over recent months, however she has quickly become rather proficient in it. She has been trying her hand mostly at a form of glamouring, in which she changes her appearance or even makes parts of her body invisible. So far, she has been able to do little more than make a finger or lock of hair ‘disappear’ but she hopes to become more proficient in this. She has also played with manipulation of others senses, such as hearing and smell, but has had little luck with this so far. 

Teleportation: another branch of magic that she has been trying out, Summer has a basic ability with teleportation. She has been able to teleport herself very short distances (usually limited to a couple of metres), but has had more luck with smaller household items and can move these reasonable distances.

Elemental magic: Summer has dabbled with elemental magic, however aside from fire, she really has little interest in these. She is able to conjure small fires when she needs to, but nothing that would cause any significant damage.

Healing magic: Summer has a particular disdain for healing magic and has never put any effort into learning it. She also finds potion-making boring and time consuming.

Standing just under 6ft, Caleb is just reaching above average height. Not exactly scrawny but nor particularly well-built, he is at least gifted with a body that can seemingly consume enough food to fill a football stadium, without gaining weight. His hair is a mess of dark brown curls that even when he attempts to style it, still ends up looking like he's just rolled out of bed. Despite his best attempts, he so far has been unable to grow a beard or moustache of any substance, which is of a constant disappointment to the teen. His most pronounced feature is probably his lips, which are usually turned up in either a cocky smile or opened in gestures of laughter. He has a small and now pretty faint scar running horizontal across the bridge of his nose, which he received during a particularly rough bout of play fighting with one of his brothers. Caleb has dark brown eyes, which are incredibly expressive and which consequently are a window to a lot of what he is thinking/feeling.

Caleb has two bands tattooed across the forearm of his left arm, which he has had for around a year now. He also used to have a small nose stud but he took this out just before joining the coven. His style isn't particularly outstanding and is pretty akin to most teenage guys his age. He will however, attempt to wear shorts in almost every weather, even if this is also whilst he's donning a hoody, gloves and scarf. When he is particularly tired, or on the rare occasion that he is in a bad mood, he will usually take to wearing sunglasses...even if he is indoors.

Growing up around more family members than you can count on two hands does not lend well to those of a quiet or faint of heart nature. Luckily, Caleb was neither of these. Enthusiastic, bold and boisterous, Caleb is a true extrovert. He hates spending time alone and will forever be looking for someone to hang out with. He has no qualms with walking up to complete strangers and striking up a conversation, and has always found a natural ease in making friends. Rarely one to take things seriously, he's usually cracking a joke or laughing at times when he should probably be being serious, a habit which often landed him in trouble at school. Though of reasonable intelligence, Caleb found school boring and would often play truant, and has such developed a particular knack for being to escape a room without anyone else noticing. 

Caleb can be extremely loyal and protective to those who cares about, particularly his younger siblings. He is not one to be afraid of showing warmth and care towards others. Though he doesn't seem to acknowledge this himself, he has always had a gift of making others feel at ease and knowing just what to say to offer someone comfort (even if this often involves making a stupid joke). Caleb hates seeing other people upset and will go out of the way to at least try make them feel better. Although he tries his hardest to get along with even the most unlikable of people, he is by no means a pushover and will stand up for himself when the time calls for it. 

Caleb is the definition of a night owl. He can be extremely difficult to wake in the mornings and will always stubbornly try get that extra 5 or 10 minutes of sleep. He loves being up at night and can often be found awake when everyone else has gone to sleep.

The Bishop family originally hailed from Salem itself, and suffered greatly during the witch trials. Seeking refuge from those who would seek to harm them, Calebs ancestors moved to Ferndale, California at the beginning of 1693. Ferndale was barely a town at this time and the Bishops were largely instrumental in helping the Shaw brothers to build it up. They have been there ever since and are a well-known and well-liked family in the region. Since the early 1800s the Bishop family have also been skilled vampire hunters and are renowned for their abilities throughout the covens on the west coast. Although initially it was the males of the family who generally took on the mantle of vampire hunter, as the world modernised and views became less archaic, the females of the family also begun to get involved too. It is as consequence of this that most of the Bishop family prefer to focus on the more [I]physically[/I] based magics, rather than say healing or illusions. 

Born on the summer solstice, Caleb grew up as part of a large and loud family. His parents were high school sweethearts, with his mother first becoming pregnant with their eldest, Tucker, at the young age of 18. As the middle child, the witchling grew up surrounded by six siblings; the three eldest are Tucker (22), Mason (20) and Lucy (19), whilst the three youngest are Sam (14), Jenny (11) and Regan (11). Although not particularly poor, raising so many children in a house built for four at the most, meant that things were always just that little bit cramped, with Caleb having to share a room with his two older brothers. Their home, which has affectionately been known as 'Doris' for centuries now, is one that has been passed down through the Bishop family line and one that appears to be held together largely through sheer willpower (and a hefty sprinkle of magic here and there). 

Growing up in a small town, surrounded by plenty of family and friends has provided Caleb with a rather sheltered upbringing, and he has known little loss or suffering. Never one for school he, much to the frustration of his parents, began to grow increasingly truant during his teenager years. Luckily this didn't extend to his practice of magic and he would often be found playing around with it when he should be in class. His mother even tried to homeschool him for a couple of months when he was fourteen but that only resulted in him playing truant from his own home too. 

All was going smoothly for Caleb, and he was expecting to be joining the same coven as his older siblings, when his youngest sister Jenny became extremely sick. The family tried everything to heal her but even the strongest of magics did not seem to work, and they were eventually forced to turn to modern medicine. Requiring a highly specialist involvement, his family eventually had to move to New York approximately one year ago. Moving to a huge city and having to leave behind their beloved Doris was a huge shock to the whole family and they have only just begun to adjust. Caleb was sad to leave his friends behind, both humans and witchlings alike, it instead being decided that he would complete his initiation with the Dying Branch Coven.

[u]Telekinetic magic[/u]
Put simply, Caleb is most proficient at the branch of magic pertaining to the control and manipulating of physical matter through the mind. This magic requires high levels of energy & subsequently large sacrifices, therefore his skills at present are generally limited to the manipulation of objects (e.g. pushing/pulling them, levitating them). It generally works better on stationary objects, although he has ben known to levitate his familiar, Bast, on occasion. Caleb has also been using it to work on a rudimentary form of a force-field, which could be used to repel attacks and weapons. Theoretically this branch of magic could be used to simulate flight but he has not really focused much on practicing this, aside from being able to levitate a few inches off the ground.
