[indent]Ki at its simplest can be called Life-energy, a supernatural and esoteric form of energy in which certain individuals can train to utilize it. The manifestation of ki can be doing feats that are unheard of and impossible like surviving impossible drops, shooting lightning, and so on. Ki can be increased by increasing someone's fighting spirit - in essence, training the body and mind in various forms. The most common and renown way of enhancing ki is training in a martial art. Any martial art can enhance someone's ki to powerful levels. It was common knowledge until a few years ago that only Eastern Martial arts can build ki, but now boxing, and even fencing, is known to increase someone's ki. Even weapon's training can enhance ki, as it's raising "fighting spirit." It can take years upon years of training before someone can gain immense power.

Many of these warriors with powerful fighting-spirit within them are known as [color=yellow][b]Nomads[/b][/color]. A Nomad is known as a traveling warrior who uses his supernatural talents to follow their dreams, whatever they are. They can be martial artists, but some are magicians or cyborgs, but they travel and fight and come in contact with each other. Some are famous, others are lesser-known, but they're often brought in contact with each other as if there is a sort of invisible force pushing them together. Some join forces but many of them fight. 

One of the most basic ki techniques is [color=yellow][b]Ki-Sensing.[/b][/color] It's a technique that lets people detect ki sources (aka people) in the area. Depending on the level of training will allow them to sense from further, pinpoint their location, or even identify the source of ki. Those require training from someone who knows how to ki-sense, however, there are devices and magical instruments that allow ki-sensing.[/indent]

[indent]The most baseline Nomad is the Martial Artists. These warriors are not enhanced by magic or technology but use their large amounts of ki to get by. They are by fact the most common type of Nomad because most of them are just martial artists who just trained to become powerful warriors. They come in all shapes and sizes, and use all sorts of different styles of martial arts, and some even use weapons. This isn't to imply that some Martial Artists haven't incorporated magical or technological tools into their arsenal.[/indent]

[indent]The world of magic is a different one from ki. Mythics range from all types of beings from mythological creatures like dragons, Onis, and other such things to wizards and other such magicians. While the world is magic is different from ki, it's merely ki used in a different form. Mythics can be born as the creatures, a nomad can have their "magic" flowing through their flood, and can even learn magic.[/indent]

[indent]Obviously a newer entry into the Nomadic world, Machines cover any artificially created or augmented being forged through the incredible power of science. Ranging from cyborgs to androids to sentient drones, machines forgo ki in favor of advanced technology to give them an edge in any fight. For that reason machines rarely use ki themselves, though some partially Machine beings like cyborgs can still use it, so long as part of them is living enough to draw life force from.[/indent][/hider][/indent][/indent]

[indent]MAVERICK is the shining frontline organization for the defense of innocents against threats they cannot handle. They train soldiers and other Nomads specifically in handling Nomads and other supernatural threats. They mainly use technology to compensate for their lack of ki, but they also employ Nomads and other such beings (They have even a magic division). MAVERICK is responsible for saving the world countless times and defeating many criminal Nomads... however, they have a dark secret: They are a puppet organization of MIRAGE, who gained power by taking out their leadership and the usage of mind control. Abel commands them with an iron fist to serve in his and Pariah's goals.[/indent]

[indent]MIRAGE... is a dangerous organization, in the fact the most dangerous one in the world. They're noted to be a terrorist organization but their goals are more noble: protecting the world against Alien invaders. They're vast and strong, consisting of many different Nomads and other beings, but their main fighting force is a legion of machines of different sizes and types. MIRAGE's frontrunner is Abel, a man who made himself known to the world by attacking Cairo for some reason and has participated in many raids, attacks, and other deals to further this cause. Behind Abel is the Pariah... a woman that is even more mysterious, as mysterious as she is intelligent and dangerous. They're all working towards one goal, and it probably doesn't bode well for the world.[/indent]

[indent]Founded decades ago following the death of (in)famous Nomad superhero Ryuji Raiden, SHINING is a corporation interested in protecting the Earth… as well as their profits. Most famous for their wildly successful Justice Riders franchise, the organization has the uncanny ability to sniff out Nomad talent, get them under a contract, train and equip them, and make them into a brand, complete with everything from TV shows to toy lines. Though based in Japan, SHINING operates across the world, with many governments paying the organization to deal with superpowered threats in a more... PR-friendly fashion. Though the flashy, marketing-focused way they conduct themselves has earned them significant criticism, SHINING remains the ideal place for the charismatic, photogenic superhero willing to sign on for a few advertising deals.[/indent]


[color=yellow][h3]T H E   L E A G U E   O F   B O U N T Y   H U N T E R S[/h3][/color][hr]
[indent]The League Of Bounty Hunters is a by-and-large independent group of contractors who collect on bounties provided by the country or by private sectors and people’s, the legality of this varies but the standard practice is complete confidentiality in regards to the latter kind of bounties. Because of the large and often shady elements of the organization, it attracts average thugs and dregs of society as much as it has skilled and deadly warriors in its rank. Because of its sheer size, the League is active all over the world with typically an agent or two stationed in major cities or known “offices” to trickle down and assign jobs to league members and handle the money to and from clients.[/indent]

[color=yellow][h3]H O R I Z O N   F R O N T I E R S[/h3][/color][hr]
[indent]Horizon Frontiers is one of the largest, most influential scientific foundations across the world, working fervently towards it’s research of medicine and technology. On the surface, theirs is a charitable endeavor, working towards prosthetics and DNA splicing to eradicate all of the lesser ailments to mankind.

Yet underneath a clean face and miles of red tape, Horizon Frontiers approaches such a goal with much less ethics and subtlety. Their true objective is to bring about the artificial advancement of humanity, using their gene-modification and cybernetics to mirror what can be accomplished by training and discipline as with most Nomads, creating a league of artificially-empowered assassins to constantly perfect and refine their formula, with facilities and labs across the globe working in tireless perfect tandem.

The main focus of Horizon Frontiers is the topic of Ki, a mysterious force of energy representative of an individual, that when properly understood and mastered, can allow an individual a wide variety of powerful abilities. Horizon Frontiers seeks to capitalize on the phenomena, artificially accomplishing what would otherwise take years of training and meditation to properly master, by using various alterations and procedures to control and accelerate the growth of one’s power and capabilities.

However, power never comes cheap. At the current point in time, all of Horizon Frontier’s enhancements bring significant risk and harm to all of their Operatives whenever they’re performed. Even on a good day, their procedures have a ~25% chance of survival, and even then the survivors usually suffer some form of mental or physical backlash, usually in the form of reducing their lifespans or rendering them with varying degrees of insanity. The most likely reason is that their body’s Ki is being artificially enhanced and spiked far beyond what their bodies are capable of handling, making it less of a lifeforce harmonized with their being and more of a caustic, overpowering force that constantly wears and stresses their body and mind.

Despite the long line of atrocities Horizon Frontiers has committed with even more questionable results, Horizon Frontiers continues their pursuits no matter the cost, kidnapping and “studying” prominent Nomads and attempting to exceed natural growth, casting their shadow over the Nomad community across the world.[/indent][/hider][/indent][/indent]

It's unknown where they have come from, or why they exist in the first place, but they are immensely powerful. Being capable of generating limitless amounts of ki and granting whoever is holding it incredible power. The kind of power to destroy the world, if all nine gems are gathered together. The Stones of Power were the center of hundreds of different conflicts as many have attempted to use them for their power. Of course, they will be the subject of the story.[/indent]

[indent]A metropolis in the middle of USA's California, right on the beach. Gold City is the hub of Nomads in the world and beyond, as many tournaments were hosted here and other Nomad related nonsense go on here. The place seemingly has [i]everything[/i] from mountains, to Ninja clans, to all sorts of tomfoolery, and more. The storyline will start here as the cast will find themselves in Gold City for one reason or another before the journey began. [/indent]

[color=yellow][h3]T H E   P R E V I O U S   A D V E N T U R E[/h3][/color][hr]
[indent]The story begins in Brazil... during the great World Martial Arts Tournament that is hosted once a year. Warriors from all over came to compete for their own reasons as the prize on the line was a huge sum of cash... and a Stone of Power. The combatants fought until the final round - that was when the mysterious robotic villain Oh-One attacked with an army of machines. He defeated both the fighters and left with the stone while destroying the arena beyond all repair. The Nomads went on a journey after him for the Stone of Power, battling him at many different locations until they came together for one final battle and defeated him for good... or so it seems. They entrusted the stone of power in the hands of one of the Nomads Brooklyn Vanburen and retired to Gold City.[/indent]
