She is often one to fill silence with chatter, and finds no topic off limits. She laughs loudly and often, and is generally a curious soul, particularly when it comes to details about other people. However, while she does talk a lot, she rarely speaks about herself, and when she does, often in vagaries and deflections.
Backstory
Delphi grew up as a military brat, constantly globetrotting the world as her parents moved from base to base. Her mother was an intelligence officer specializing in linguistics, her father a professor in ancient literature. Even at a young age, Delphi showed a talent in learning new languages which was fostered by her parents. She was homeschooled by both of her parents, but was also pushed to spend a lot of time with the natives in whatever area they were currently living in. However, they never managed to stay in one place for longer than 6 months, and so Delphi was quick to establish friendships and bonds within the limited time. This often led her to do reckless and careless things in order to garner attention and be memorable in the eye of potential new friends. And that tendency often worked for her. She established good friends around the world constantly maintaining the relationships even at a distance via letters and rare phone calls. As she entered her highschool years, preparing to apply to colleges (a couple years early at her parents' behest), the family moved to a peaceful village on the east end of the Mediterranean Sea. But the peace was short lived, for the region went into a religious revolt against the democratic government. Her mother had to stay to do her work for her military, but made moves to smuggle her husband and daughter out of the country. It failed and she was betrayed. Delphi's mother was publicly beheaded as a spy, with Delphi and her father thrown into prison. It was a grim time in the prison, the pair having to face many difficulties until Delphi managed to befriend one of the younger guards and convince him to free her in exchange for her hand in marriage. He could not free her father though, and Delphi was forced to leave him behind. As soon as she was freed, and in the home of her would-be husband, she sliced his throat and slipped out of the country. She disappeared off the grid for a few years before reemerging in England, applying to a linguistics program at Oxford which she completed ahead of schedule. Now she travels the world, taking odd jobs in translation work, continuing to build her network of friends.
Other Info
Delphi carries a utility knife and while she is capable of defending herself, she is by no means especially skilled with it. Delphi maintains a vast knowledge of languages, linguistics, and knowledge of many cultures. Delphi maintains a network of contacts around the globe.
