This realm is home to the military academy known as Black Babel—an organization that trains Witches to combat the threat of psionic Vampires who insatiably hunt the humans of this world. With a relentless hunger for brain matter and psychic energy, the Vampires wish to cultivate humanity into their cattle; securing their sovereignty over Other-Tokyo. [indent][indent][indent][indent][indent]A Witch's magic can be divided into three independent categories: Curses, Charms, and Crafts. Curses are to harm and bind. Charms are to protect and invoke positive effects. Crafts is the classification of creation, the illusory, and the miscellaneous. With these three pillars of magic, a Witch can effectively incapacitate a vampiric threat. But to kill is another subject entirely. Thus the requirement for a Witch's WAND. The Wiccan Anti-eNergy Disperser is a special device in the shape of a firearm that unleashes shells of Anti-Energy fatal to Vampires. Aim for the head or the heart and fire—the singular method of exterminating your target. Beyond that, a Witch may have other tricks within their arsenal such as a broom for high-speed flight or potions to enhance their physiology.

This world is also host to demonic, bestial creatures called Daemons who live alongside the realm's inhabitants in a symbiotic relationship. They come in many shapes and sizes. Some act as companions, some provide resources, some exist as buildings or transportation, but all are useful in one way or another to the denizens of Other-Tokyo. The Daemons are an integral part of life in this dimension, utilized by both humans and Vampires alike in their daily existence.

You are a member of Black Babel's 176th Xcursion Regiment, or, at least you will be. After years of rigorous academy training, you are on the verge of graduating into a full-fledged member of the organization. However, there is one last trial that you must pass: exterminate a Vampire. Your squad arrives at an abandoned mansion on the eve of your final test. Live or die: this is the choice you will make in your hunt for a Vampire. Relinquish your fears and anxieties, and always hold close the motto of the Xcursionists:[/indent][/indent][/indent][/indent][/indent]

[indent][indent][indent][indent][indent]Welcome to this Anime-style RP that centers around an unceasing war between Witches and psionic Vampires. Our setting is Other-Tokyo, a pocket dimension that sits on top of normal Tokyo inaccessible to ordinary humans. Other-Tokyo has it's own population of normal humans that can't cross to the other side either, along with having Vampires and Daemons. Witches, through their magic, can hop between dimensions.

Other-Tokyo is pretty much the same as modern day Tokyo but with some notable architecture changes such as the huge spiraling blue tower shown in the above picture. That is Black Babel, the military academy and headquarters of the Witches. The world is a mix of modern day conveniences and Daemons taking shape of numerous things. Think of the Catbus from Totoro for a visual key. There are Daemons in the shape of buildings, trains, buses, giant display screens. Daemons exist that provide natural resources like electricity, coal, natural gas, crops, meat, etc. They basically can fill any niche. Even a Witch's Familiar is a type of Daemon.

As you can probably already tell, you'll be playing a Witch (a unisex term) who will be assigned to the 176th Xcursion Regiment. The 176th is the specific squad. An Xcursion Regiment is the broad term for a Witch squad whose job is to hunt and eliminate Vampires. Black Babel has its own uniforms for its members. There are 2 variants each for males and females. The other standard gear is a WAND which typically looks like a one-handed firearm (something ornate like a fancy flintlock pistol). There is a lot of liberty in what your magic can look like. It's Anime so be creative.

I'm looking to tell a story with a small group of players. This RP will be mostly plot-driven and I'm always open for story ideas from my players. I require that you commit to posting at least once per week and be able to communicate with me if you can't do so. [indent][indent][indent][indent][indent][hider=Witches & Black Babel]Witches and, subsequently, the institution known as Black Babel has existed for thousands of years, corresponding to the emergence of Vampires within Other-Tokyo. Black Babel, as an organization, actually functions as two separate branches. One in Other-Tokyo known as the Eastern Branch, and one in Other-London with the Western Branch moniker. Both are headed by a council of very old and very powerful Witches referred to as the Upper Coven. Meanwhile, the day-to-day operations of either branch is the responsibility of their respective Lower Covens. Mostly independent cells of Witches also operate in smaller pocket dimensions throughout the world.

Witches with ties to Black Babel are given official rankings in terms of their position and power. Promotion exams are given to determine if a Witch is ready to move up in rank. The rankings are in order of:

• [b]D-Rank[/b]: New Witch recruits and trainees of the academy.
• [b]C-Rank[/b]: Graduate Witches who are full-fledged members of the order.
• [b]B-Rank[/b]: Veteran Witches who take on leading positions or are instructors for the academy.
• [b]A-Rank[/b]: High-ranking officials and faculty members. Rarely participates in field work.
• [b]S-Rank[/b]: Special Xcursionist Witches who are extremely powerful. They are only assigned the most dangerous missions. They number incredibly few within the order.

When a trainee Witch graduates, they are assigned to one of the squads below based on their performance and proclivities during training:

• [b]Xcursion Regiment[/b]: This unit specializes in the hunting and extermination of vampiric individuals who are considered to be threats to public safety.
• [b]Scouts Regiment[/b]: This unit conducts field research and ascertains the locations of Vampires. They also provide tactical assistance to Xcursion squads. They do not typically engage in combat.
• [b]Medical Corps[/b]: This unit is responsible for providing medical care and treatment to members of Black Babel.
• [b]Conservation Brigade[/b]: This unit handles any and all matters relating to Daemons from general husbandry to the domestication of wild Daemons.
• [b]Research & Development[/b]: This unit is in charge of the production of technologies and potions for Black Babel. Their most notable invention being that of the Witch's WAND.

Finally, Black Babel Witches are given a special badge that facilitates travel between realms.[/hider]

All uniforms are to be worn with black trousers/leggings and either dress shoes or boots. Additionally, a [url=https://i.imgur.com/VelrnOp.jpg]cloak[/url] is provided with all uniforms, usually emblazoned with their unit symbol on the back of the cloak. Lastly, a [url=https://i.imgur.com/lLJx6op.jpg]cap[/url] is also provided though its usage is purely optional.[/hider]
[hider=Vampirism]Supernatural fiends that possess extraordinary physical attributes as well as dangerous psionic powers. In addition, they have rapid regenerative abilities and are immortal in terms of aging. Their existence is said to predate that of both Black Babel and Witches in general. A human can be transformed into a Vampire via the consumption of vampiric blood which is black in color. Black Babel Witches are cursed with a spell that causes death by immolation if they consume vampiric blood, whether by their own free will or otherwise.

Vampires look nearly indistinguishable from normal humans aside from their paler skin and notable fangs. However, this isn't the case initially. Upon transitioning to a Vampire, the former human will lose all of their hair and their features become more beast-like. This initial state is colloquially referred to as the 'Pupal' stage. In this state, they act more on instinct than intellect, akin to a wild animal. Only after feeding on the blood of a Witch will a Vampire transition to their final state.

A fully-matured Vampire will regrow their hair as well as regain their human intelligence and will. They'll lose all of their monstrous features and will once again resemble a human physically. As they consume more brain matter, they will eventually gain they ability to feed off psychic energy. The more they feed, the stronger they naturally become.

Vampires have no reflection and cast no shadows. Due to their highly regenerative bodies, they can quickly recover from most attacks including even injuries caused by a Witch's magic. Sunlight and Anti-Energy however hinders their regeneration enough so that it's fatal to them, which is why a WAND is a necessity. Contrary to urban folklore, Vampires do not fear garlic or running water. They also do not need invitation to enter a place.[/hider]
[hider=Classification of Daemons]Daemons are categorized by their physical size. These classifications are:

• [b]Imp-Class[/b]: Any Daemon ranging from the size of a fingernail to a large dog.
• [b]Golem-Class[/b]: Daemons ranging from the previous max size to the size of a large person.
• [b]Dragon-Class[/b]: A large, diverse class of Daemons that can reach the size of a small building.
• [b]Colossus-Class[/b]: Any large building-sized Daemon and beyond.

Familiars are a type of Daemon, typically Imp-Class in size. They highly resemble beasts but are some of the few Daemons capable of human speech. Witches tend to keep Familiars as personal companions as they can assist with a variety of things including in battle.
