Short history/personality blurb: Although the Zabi family was popular among the people of Side 3, not all of the noble houses truely sided with them, or any of the other pretenders to the throne. One such family was the Landry's. Oh yes, for show, they would throw their hands up and yell "SEIG ZEON!" along with the rest of the deluded masses and throw their money behind the war for independence, they all did what they had to in order to survive under the tyrannical fist of Gihren, puppeting his depressed and ashamed father who sat on the throne. The truth was that, to begin with, yes, they had been quite close with the Zabi's, being one of the many inner circle families, alongside the Ral's. When Degwin took Naliss Landry as his wife, the two families were inseparably linked. Even if the rest of the family disapproved of her choices. When her Naliss' father, who fiercely and loudly clashed heads with Degwin, died surrounded by mysterious circumstances, Ptolemy Ent Landry took over as head of the family and did his best to steer it clear of the Zabi's, but continue to support Deikun in his campgain. The families came together once more with the sad passing of Naliss, giving birth to Zabi heir Garma. Old hatchets were buried with the soil of grief and a neutrality descended upon the two families. When Zeon died, leaving Degwin as a successor, the writing was on the wall "fall in line or fall into your grave." Even though the suspicions surrounded the Landry's of not truly supporting Zeon. Degwin had them placed under special exemption from Gihren and Kcylia's wrath. One final show of gratitude to the family who gave him his wife that he loved so much. As countless perished within the fortress of A Baoa Qu, over at Side 3, life was taking its first views upon the world. Gregorovich Tal Landry, born on the eve of Zeon Surrender, grew up in a Zeon that had been brought entirely under the Federations boot-heel and existed as merely a puppet-state with Federation advisors having the true power. He didn't resent them for this, after all, he didn't know any better. His father clearly resented this, but accepted that, at least he no longer had to hail to the insane machinations of Gihren. Side 3 was used as a development center, using captured Zeon scientists to develop new Mobile Suits for the Federation and their Titans task-force. Gregorovich was able to stay mostly out of harms way as he watched the old remnants of Zeon flare up time and again under newer and even more insane leaders. Karn, Toto... Eventually, Aznable, who came back to side 3 and was welcomed as a conquering hero. Gregorovich couldn't help but be swept up in the wave of patriotism, too young to fight, but he was on the streets waving the banner and welcoming Casval as he came to lead the Earthnoids to space against their will. Gregorovich entered into the Junior Mobile Suit Pilots club, quickly becoming intimately familiar with the use of a Mobile Suit. Of course, Casval's reign didn't last long and Zeon was, once again, smacked back down and put under the Federations jackboot. But Gregorovich didn't resent this. Far from it. Seeing the Axis event on television, the majesty of the green glow that saved Earth, the mortality of the Red Comet being finally brought front and center... Things changed. Patriotism replaced with compassion. Gregorovich had grown up not resenting the Earth, then had found himself swept up in a riot and when it was over, had taken a long, hard look at himself and decided that Zeon was a name best left dead and buried. Every time someone brought up the name, either millions perished and suffered, or they almost did. When the Federation came calling for pilots during the Sleeves incident, Gregorovich dropped his name and lied about his age to sign up to the Zeon Colonial Forces drafted to quickly deal with the Sleeves threat. Already having been piloting simple mobile suits for the last 3 years, he seemed like a natural when it came to piloting the real ones. He never really had a chance to prove himself in full combat, but his simulated tests rated him highly. When Rebirth Zeon made themselves known, he was chosen as a representative from Side 3 to join the mission to find and destroy them, the higher ups thought it would play better for the media to have an actual Zeon citizen in the team. Of course, Gregory saw no problems with this, he was going to work his way up the ranks and effect change on the Federation from the inside, at the same time, he was going to put down the elements of Zeon that were the cause of all of the suffering in the wars. Win-Win.
