Section 1: OCs (Completely Original/Universe Specific) ☆*.
Name: Yankii Banban Alias’: “Pompadour”, “Sea Devil” Epithet: The Delinquent, The Bully of the World Government Age: 19 Height: 6’1” Weight: 63 KG Sexuality: ? Residence: Dawn Island (Former) Occupation(s): Pirate Captain Affiliation(s): Pompadour Pirates Bounty: 435,000,000 GENERAL APPEARANCE Race: Human Physical Appearance: ≫ Banban has a youthful appearance, much like a high-schooler; albeit his eyes are sharp, and his grin small yet striking. Banban has a lean, athletic figure and broad shoulders -- his torso clearly defined through his tight wear. Banban’s hair is also styled into a curly pompadour. Clothing: ≫ Banban wears a long Gakuran over his shoulders that reaches down to his calves. The labels lack ordinary logos, and are instead patched over with an image of his jolly roger. Underneath he wears a simple white collared t-shirt, but with the sleeves torn from the ends of the shoulders and the school mandated necktie missing. This is topped off with a pair of comfortable slacks and dress shoes. Accessories (tattoos, piercings, jewelry, etc): ≫ Banban has one black gauge spike in his left earlobe, and three silver rings on the right, and two sleeve tattoos of breaking chains curled around his forearms -- snapping over an image of his jolly roger. PERSONALITY Traits & Characteristics: ≫ Banban is incredibly loud and angry, with a rebellious presence that’s enough to project his attitude to anyone who comes across him. Banban is loud, crass and foul mouthed -- with a short temper that’s set to blow at any moment. While Banban comes off as brutish; the “hit first, ask questions later” kind of guy -- Banban has an incredibly soft interior underneath the hairspray and standoffish attitude. Banban attempts to maintain his delinquent personality, but with enough good-will and innocence, Banban’s heart can easily be pried from its tough shell. This means Banban cannot handle any form of congratulations or well-meaning compliment, as he chooses to deflect it with a loud “OI!” or a switch of the subject, as he tries to hold in a modest ramble; something like “I-I didn’t do anything that great! Y-You guys did all the work… Piss off..” But, with these strong emotions comes weakness. Any significant harm to his friends makes him incredibly distressed- with rage, coated with a thick river of tears that stains his clothes and his ability for rational thought. This is symbolized through the messing of his pompadour, which represents his composure. He’ll swing wildly in fits of mourning to avenge whatever harm his friends have suffered, until the very end. Morals & Philosophies: ≫ Banban values liberty above all, and tends to retaliate against any form of authority. His philosophies on freedom mean he has a significant grudge with the marines and the world government, including the celestial dragons. His values in regards to freedom also include equality for all, or more specifically, the diverse races and aliens of the world -- the outcasts -- the heretics -- the runaways. Banban’s crew is a safe haven for the misunderstood, from the weird guy, to the fishman immigrant, all are welcome to his crew, and Banban cares especially for his crew. Goals: ≫ To become the pirate king, and bring down The World Government! Overall Alignment: Chaotic Good CONNECTIONS Interpersonal Relationships: The mooks of his crew (a diverse range of characters - he even has a giant on board his grand ship). His family. Rivals: N/A Enemies: The World Government, The Marines, any form of authority. Evil Pirates. HISTORY Past: ≫ Banban’s journey started on the rickety, sea-sick inducing platform of a boat. Immigrants torn from their homes -- handling the punishment of the waves and cruelty of the depths to find a safer place to call home. Banban’s single mother was from Wano, and had given birth to him right there on the ship. His mother hoped to give Banban a safer life in the east blue, where she had waiting relatives to support her and her child. They had suddenly been shipwrecked by the outline of a colossal tail which striked through their ship like butter during the final stretch of their painful journey, and killed most of the immigrants before they even hit the water. They had washed up on Dawn Island, and Banban’s mother was kidnapped. A lonely couple found the baby by himself, crying in the sand -- somehow having been nursed back to health. This couple cared for Banban like their own son, but were firm and strict. Banban was put into many schools at the age of 8; which ended up with him being expelled from all of them. Banban was incredibly unruly, and picked fights with the rich kids and bullies of the school. In a fit of anger from their persistence, not yet realizing his parent’s good intentions -- he ran away from home, into the deeper quarters of Dawn Island. For the sake of self-preservation, Banban survived off rummaging through trash and stealing from high-end bakeries -- it’s not like they needed all that expensive bread. This persisted for.. Two weeks, at best. This was because the expedition was cut short, with a terrible secret being uncovered. A perfectly bred, gleaming white horse trotted through the streets with bowing citizens lined on both sides. It was like a parade -- the horse strutting its stuff while it pulled a small carriage along. A fat, well dressed man was greedily stroking the shoulders of a shackled prisoner. The prisoner’s garbs were encrusted with silver linings and golden labels, and her hair was jet black and well maintained. Her eyes were familiar to Banban’s own, with the same sharp features which deviated from the common features of the island. He realized, by some kind of mutual maternal instinct (and the striking similarities), that this woman was his mother. It was made apparent that when Banban was an infant, he was left squirming in the sun, rolled in uncomfortable sand -- gurgling on seawater, while this noble greedily imprisoned this woman for his own use. The alien, exotic beauty of the woman was too tantalizing.. Banban screamed for his mother with such weakness, but his sounds were drowned out by the brown nosing hurrahs from the lesser folk. This lack of attention, culminated by the winces and reluctant posture of his mother made him realize a method of protest, birthed from desperation and his childish attitude.. Between the tight walls of the gleaming street, lined with high-end shops and diamond-clad nobles mixed with the common rabble of the majority, Banban squatted at the end of the street without hesitation on his face. Banban was willing to be trampled in protest. The woman was distraught - this boy was going to die if they let the horse and carriage step onto him! The nobleman that clung to his mother laughed, and continued forward. Banban, in his tattered - poverty stricken attire, squatted still, like an absolute delinquent. The horse trampled him, and the carriage knocked his jaw as the wheels just missed his splayed limbs.. He continued to do this. Everyday -- he lived that day, his first retaliation against the norm. This message was witnessed everyday by the common folk, in awe of the child’s endurance. Everyday, the child was wrapped and bandaged by his own mother, who sought him out in the streets during her brief moments of freedom, to nurse him back to health. No words were traded -- she knew their relation. Everyday, he grew bigger and stronger. Everyday, he trained his body in all methods of calisthenics and acrobatics, and every afternoon he’d test his endurance by being unceremoniously run over by the carriage; the nobleman becoming more reluctant everyday. The dirty, desperate dens of the city’s depths eventually incorporated Banban into their masses - the pirates and bandits that stayed hidden within the city approved of his attitude, and supported him with lessons in dirty boxing and other criminal tactics. One day, at age 17 -- the horse ran Banban over… Just as it did everyday… And was lifted. The carriage dipped at an incline, and the nobleman was panting and gasping at this power. His mother was in awe - stifling a cheer as the lined up masses of poverty witnessed Banban’s strength as he hoisted the horse up with his broad back. With great strain, Banban toppled the horse and carriage over. Finally, he had fought back against the noble after being literally trodden on day after day. The poverty-stricken individuals of the island felt empowered, and proceeded to cheer with their hearts strong and united. In the face of overwhelming opposition, the nobleman turned a blind eye -- writhing on the ground, fearing an uprising if he were to retaliate. Banban was straddling a thin line with his action, so to prevent a sudden shift in courage by the noble, he decided to leave. He had bid his mother farewell, in another deep corner of the island after his protest. He had planned to confront his adoptive parents for the last time before he departed, but they were nowhere to be found. The mystery of his mother was solved, but not his adoptive parents. He wishes to see them again someday, but this wish is overpowered by his drive for freedom. Everyday as he was broken down by the noblemen, he realised the absolute cruelty of the current world authority. During his early days, he witnessed the poor being pummelled by the upper-class - the merfolk that stopped for supplies being beaten bloody. This was no perfect world. His mother was taken, and nobody fought for her, because she was different. Banban was different too. The most different son of a gun that ever walked the land. He was going to bring it to the highest power, and tell them how much he opposes their philosophies -- with his fist. Present: ≫ Currently a significant threat to The World Government - having made an alliance with The Revolutionary Army and harbouring his own diverse fleet, he has inducted himself in a rat race for The Three Ancient Weapons in hopes to destroy The Red Line for an unspoken reason incentivised by a whisper from “The Sea Devil”. ABILITIES Notable Feats: ≫ Took down the Shichibukai “Sweet Tooth”, a monster who had eaten the “Chomp-Chomp” fruit and exploited its abilities by gaining the powers of a deadly weapon. ≫ Killed a Celestial Dragon in his “Unchained” mode. Physical Abilities: ≫ Banban’s raw, physical strength is superhuman. He is capable of jumping incredible heights and lifting incredibly heavy things. (Examples include jumping at least 10 meters into the air without the need of his ability and lifting a horse and carriage above his own body). His natural stamina is also incredibly vast - in his early adolescence, he was able to be trodden on a horse every single day without breaking his body. Intellectual Abilities: H-he doesn’t really have any… Intellectual abilities... Supernatural Abilities: ≫ Banban has eaten the “Bane Bane no Mi” or the “Boing-Boing Fruit”, and has become a “spring man” in the process of consuming it. The powers of this fruit allow Banban to turn various parts of his body into springs. While the ability seems useless, Banban uses the power in a variety of creative ways to defy the limits of the power. Misc Abilities: ≫ Banban has a steady grasp on the Kenbunshoku and Busoshoku hakis. Haki is the application and manipulation of an individual’s spiritual energy. Kenbunshoku haki - otherwise known as “observation haki”, allows the user to access a number of precognitive abilities, and to sense the presence, strength and emotions of other people. Busoshoku haki - otherwise known as “armament haki”, allows the user to manipulate their haki to form a strong invisible armour around their body, and any object they are holding. This ability not only increases the defensive and offensive capabilities of a user’s body (which can increase in strength with the mastery of haki), but can also be further advanced to extend from the user's body for more destructive potential. Banban also has a loose knowledge of the Rokushiki martial art, and unknowingly applies its various techniques to his own abilities. Most notably, Tekkai (the hardening of the body, similar to haki but more focused on stance), Shigan (an ability that makes the pokes of a user’s finger as deadly as a bullet) and Soru (incredible speeds that can make after images). Combat Style: Banban keeps it up close and personal with no particular tactical prowess. The process is: 1) provoke, 2) charge, 3) swing wildly. Banban doesn’t take a moment to defend his vitals, but picks up the tempo with a good offense making his defense -- wearing his opponent down until they break, or he hesitates out of exhaustion. While Banban has a bat for a weapon, he generally keeps it tied to his back, and prefers using his fists paired with his devil fruit for combat. Banban only pulls out his bat for specific techniques. Banban finds teamwork distracting rather than an advantage, and due to his indiscriminate method of combat, he tends to accidentally hurt the ones he cares about, in which tremendous amounts of guilt will ensue. While Banban seems amateurish and self taught in his ability, he keeps a consistently strong kickboxing stance in which the bandits in the dregs of Dawn Island had taught him. As he pulls back his punches and kicks, he can deliver a tremendous one-inch punch with the power of his devil fruit. Special Moveset: ≫ Bane Bane No… Shootout! Banban turns his index finger into a spring, extends it to it’s full uncoiled length, and hardens it with Tekkai. This allows Banban to use his “Shigan” ability like an actual long-ranged bullet. ≫ Bane Bane No… Flash Knockdown! Banban compresses one of his arms with his boing-boing fruit ability and goes for a haymaker; aiming straight down in hopes to trap his opponent between a rock and a hard place (his fist, and the ground). ≫ Bane Bane No… Blow-By-Blow! Banban compresses his arms with his boing-boing fruit ability, and shoots two jabs towards his opponent. Due to the straight trajectory; the fists will continuously pull and bounce back toward the opponent rapidly, initiating a devastating onslaught. ≫ Bane Bane No… Safety Clinch! Banban grabs his opponent and pulls his arms back with his boing-boing fruit ability, and then proceeds to launch them with the springs, sending them flying away. ≫ Bane Bane No… Heavyweight, Orochi! A more powerful version of Banban’s Blow-By-Blow. ≫ Bane Bane No… Heavyweight, Umibozu Stomp! Banban compresses his foot with his boing-boing fruit ability and steps on his opponent, then releases his compressed foot when he makes contact with the opponent. ≫ Bane Bane No… Heavyweight, Dodomeki! A further upgrade of Banban’s “Orochi” ability. Banban fires his fists wildly and “catches” them with his springs, which makes a capricious gattling of fists towards the opponent that springs and ricochets off nearby surfaces towards the target. ≫ Bane Bane No… Raijin Cannon! Banban’s ultimate ability. Banban turns his entire arm into a spring and extends it to it’s limit, and applies Tekkai to the limb in order to maintain a sharp point at the end. Using Shigan with this limb shoots a giant “bullet” that cracks like a thunderstorm. ≫ PUNCH All caps, no elaboration. A punch with everything put behind it. Used when Banban is 100% angry. ≫ KICK A kick with everything put behind it. Used when Banban is 100% ≫ BREAK Banban compresses his arms with his boing-boing fruit ability and places his opponent’s head between his fists. This ability has the chance to brutally flatten his opponent’s head. He hasn’t used this move before. ≫ OBLITERATE Banban squats static on a surface and condenses his entire body with his boing-boing fruit ability. The force of his entire body turned to spring, in tandem with full-body Busoshoku haki will create an unstoppable force that indiscriminately bounces around in search of a target. ≫ INCINERATE Banban transforms his entire body into a spring, and extends the coil to its fullest length - sharpening the ends with Tekkai and Haki. This allows him to perform a powered-up version of his “Raijin Cannon”. Transformation(s): ≫ Spring Oni!: Banban compresses and releases springs rapidly in his most prominent muscles like pistons in an engine. This gives his body a “pump”, which tightens and expands his muscle structure. This makes his body bigger and more “buff”. Banban then turns his forearms from the wrist to the elbows, and his legs from the ankles to the knees into springs, which allow for the usage of his abilities without having to turn an entire limb into a spring - limiting the movement of said limb. Lastly, he then coats his entire body in Busoshoku Haki. This transformation gives Banban incredible strength, while also giving him more versatile movement and a strong defense that can weaken the impact of attacks due to his shock absorbing springs. Unchained: A form of pure, raw anger ignited by Banban’s ever increasing rage. Banban covers his whole body in Busoshoku haki, making him look like a malicious dark entity, earning him the moniker of “Sea Devil”. In this “form”, Banban goes out of the way to exhaust all of his energy on one opponent or a select group. He also transforms his entire body into a tough, Haki-imbued spring that becomes a destructive force with the added use of the Rokushiki arts. Extending his entire spring body and applying Tekkai to the sharp tip also allows him to perform a powered-up version of his “Raijin Cannon” technique. FLAWS: Banban can be incredibly ignorant in his decision making and especially stubborn, which can lead to less than favourable outcomes. This has lead to unplanned clashes with several high marine authority - throwing his crew in danger. While Banban cares dearly for his crew, he is also prone to hurting them in the crossfire due to the indiscriminate use of his abilities. Banban is also incredibly susceptible to his own emotions, which neglect rationality when he is feeling any sort of negative emotion. This lack of control over his emotions has lead to the death of a Celestial Dragon, which has sent shockwaves throughout the politics of The World Government. EQUIPMENT & ITEMS Utilities: His ship, and the various things he keeps on it. Weapons: A simple, metal bat. Somehow it hasn’t broken yet. Misc: N/A MISC INFORMATION Likes: Loitering, squatting and loitering, eating, fighting, gambling. Dislikes: Restrictions on his freedom, restrictions on other people’s freedom, bigotry. Trivia: ≫ Banban is based on Japanese Sukeban - a delinquent. ≫ His abilities names are generally taken from Boxing terminology and Yokai names - Yokai being japanese mythological creatures. Quotes: ≫ “What the hell did you just say about my hair?! W-wait a minute… I don’t give a damn about my hair!” ≫ “It’s all about bein’ cool! Honour is cool! Uncharacteristically, his face is gentle and feminine, with a head full of long, thick hair that reaches down to his shoulders. His expression is often neutral and apathetic which can flash with brief moments of excitement; emphasized by a tight-lipped smile. Clothing: Terrowin’s civilian garbs consist of a simple weathered pair of brais which reach a little bit below his knees, which are fitted around Terrowin’s legs by a studded leather belt. This is ended with a pair of black Caliage. While Terrowin doesn’t wear a shirt normally while out in public, he will resort to putting on an unbuttoned, black lapel coat when times are cold. When Terrowin is working in his trade, he will wear a costume of black garbs, with an enigmatic black hood draped over his head. Accessories (tattoos, piercings, jewelry, etc): N/A PERSONALITY Traits & Characteristics: Terrowin is a gentle giant, despite his association with violence and death. He is calm and collected, and usually interacts with others in hushed tones and respectful volumes. While he normally upholds a presence of indifference and neutrality, in some isolated, brief moments he smiles as bright as the sun - like an overcompensating jester, showing a side to him that is anything but black & and white. Morals & Philosophies: Terrowin does not conform to any particular morals and/or philosophies, but his acted philosophy is rounded closest to “an eye for an eye”. Goals: Unknown. Overall Alignment: True Neutral. CONNECTIONS Family: His father was a baker, and his mother a nun. Terrowin’s trade was not inherited; instead thrusted upon him. His family still talk to him regardless of his stained reputation, albeit in secret. Interpersonal Relationships: The only true relationship he had throughout his career was with an imprisoned woman, who was sanctioned due to being apparently “pregnant”. In the days where society’s values were based on religion, it was seen as a religious crime to kill a pregnant woman, so she was only incarcerated with a number of comforts in her cell. Terrowin routinely interacted with her, albeit with a monotone participation, but still held deep feelings for the woman, which she shared. When it was discovered the woman lied about her pregnancy, Terrowin was forced to send her through a torturous hell, and an inevitable death on the breaking wheel. Terrowin has feared relationships ever since. Rivals: None. Enemies: None (none incredibly personal anyway). (Currently the monsters of the “Blight” storyline). HISTORY Past: Terrowin was born in a humble peasant family and was raised with his future already established; that he would be a baker - after his father, and would inherit his small merchant tent. Instead, due to the mischief of some foul, paganistic entity or the cruel, indiscriminate hand of lady luck, Terrowin was singled out of a reluctant group of commoners to deliver the killing blow to a thief. This was at a public execution, where the usual executioner was nowhere to be seen. Terrowin reluctantly pulled the heavy axe over his head, and messily butchered the neck of the convicted.. After a rusty first attempt. Two swings were necessary. His beginner’s experience and a dull blade made the thief’s last god-given moments a nightmare. While the negative connotations surrounding the Executioner’s trade would have been enough to socially outcast Terrowin to begin with; the botched first attempt made him out as a sadistic deviant. This was his only path now - having stained his reputation and his future prospects, he moved into the local rathaus as an apprentice executioner. Throughout his life he was routinely mocked and feared as a devil, and groups of Tithing (the lowest unit of medieval law enforcement) would briefly put down their pitchforks and torches and divert their attention to Terrowin, in which he was beaten. He took these beatings with incredible apathy, and grew all the more stronger for it. The heavy metal of his blade and the uncomfortable weight of the various torture devices he utilized gave him a powerful figure. He was now a dark clad beast, with his stocky body in tandem with his height making him look like a monster. No longer was he singled out by the local populace, but instead willfully ignored and revered - fearing what a creature like him would do to them. Once again, Terrowin paid no mind to this sudden shift in perception, and continued to execute the various victims of the system without any remorse. Present: Terrowin is currently the chief executioner of the rathaus torture chamber. Present - Blight Version: With the discovery of the slowly accelerating “infection”, a statement was issued to all able and suitable tradespeople of arms to “purify the sinners” by the highest catholic authority. Terrowin had taken up a combative role at the beginning of the verdict - working with a tightly knit Tithling of “purifiers” coming from various walks of life; including a long-beaked plague doctor, a knight of catholic standing and an experienced hunter. These three companions died within the first few clashes with the infected army. Terrowin had persevered unlike his group, as he was already estranged from their plans and decidedly set off on his own without the three. Now a lone wanderer that had left his burning, corpse-ridden village; Terrowin seeked comfort for the first time of his life - taking the madness of the world as his cue to leave and discover a more meaningful existence. The only thing that resists his dreams now are the hundreds of infected monsters - and for the first time in his life, he’s made his dream worth fighting for. ABILITIES Notable Feats: N/A (to be added). Physical Abilities: Terrowin is incredibly physically fit and powerful. His body is also durable and rigid. Intellectual Abilities: While it would be assumed Terrowin is a mindless brute without a cognitive process; Terrowin is incredibly emotionally intelligent and perceptive. Terrowin is keenly aware and invested in the politics of his town and the kingdom it is affiliated with. Terrowin also has loose medical knowledge due to his time spent around corpses, and understands the various parts of the body - inside and out - albeit with his own personalized terminology, e.g he calls arteries something whimsical like “life thread”. Supernatural Abilities: None(?) Misc Abilities: Terrowin has very intimate knowledge of the human body, as well as its various exploitable weak points. FLAWS: Due to Terrowin’s lack of care for his own body, he has no motivation to protect himself from any physical harm. This has left him with various scars across his body and some minor weakness in the kneecaps, in which he usually ignores until the damage is irreversible. EQUIPMENT & ITEMS Utilities: When out on work-related duties, Terrowin carries a portable breaking wheel on his back, tied to him by thick chains. He also carries a small pair of clamps hooked to his belt, presumably for both the removal of finger nails and crushing of finger bones. Weapons: Terrowin carries a small hatchet for free-lance executions and self defense. Misc: N/A.
