They rode past the great ocean of each end of the great highway, to bring fury, steel and speed to the people beyond it. Their engines roared with the fury of a thousand suns. Each night, they feasted in the halls of the painted host, the halls of the freckled maids and watched the Cojote Dancers. They fought the greatest Highway-Wars against their enemies, casting them from the mighty Highway, before conquering the little brother of the I70 and laying claim to the sister, the I90. They were the fathers of us all, their blood still fills our veins! And just like the fuel grants power to the engine, their mighty liniage gives power to us all..." The "Interstate 80 - Veteran Rider Biking Club" or just 80s Veteran Club, was a Motorcycling organisation in pre-war america, founded in the year 2041. Made up of Veterans of the US armed forces, mostly of the mechanical and armored parts, they soon found themselves as a vicous biking gang, and brutal enforcers of organized crime, all over the US. The Resource Wars saw the discharge of many veterans, who in the recession of the dying america were left with little choices but crime. The highways of the US became lawless, ruled by mighty gangs, yet none were as feared as the I80, laying claim to the I80, I70 and I90. Yet their power also hailed from the covered support from the US goverment, who used them as strike-breakers and thugs against protests. Loathed and feared alike, the 80s formed a strong internal bond, the origins of their tribal clan culture, that would see them rise from the ashes of the old world. When the bombs fell, the 80s had an ace in the hole. A great military bunker complex, a storage facility north of Milwaukee, familiar to the Veteran Greasemonkies of the bikergang. Old Veterans and current soldiers, seeing the wold collapse around them, joined up, and soon, thousands of 80s and their families, fled into the security of a large underground bunker, filled to the brim with vehicles, guns and supplies. The Era of the Hardest Riders: [Shortly after the great war - 2120] "The great flash and roar came, cleaning the earth in the fury of the riders of old, who had enough of its weakness and filth. From the darkness broke forth, the Hardest Riders! They found a world cleansed and mutated, yet did not back down. They rode hard and fast, reclaming the I80 and riding from coast to coast like their ancestors before them. In these days, the first and greatest eight road-chapters were formed, each lead by a legendary road-captain. And when the Walkers of New-York rose up to challange them, the first Road-Chief rose to the challange, uniting all eight under his banner and crushing them. Nobody could stand against the 80s..." While the supplies of the military base had been generous, they had not been planned to last for the thousands of 80s as well as their families. While allowing them to sit out the worst of the nuclear destruction, they did ran out at some point. Yet, there had also been more then enoug fuel, vehicles and weaponry, for the 80s, to find an different way to aquire what they needed. Soon, the gates of the bunker opened, and the 80s roared forth, riding once more into a cold and destroyed world. In Milwaukee, an emergency civil goverment had formed, trying to maintain a resemblence of order in the chaos. Yet its milita was no match for the hordes of 80s, who sacked the city, abducted its women and slaughtered its men. A cathasis of some sort, after years of being locked up in enclosed space, under strict discipline of the road-captains and remaining military officers. Yet rich was the bounty of Milwaukee, and with the burning city in their back, and the wailing cries of its abducted inhabitants, the 80s turned into the first great raidergang of the post-war USA. Soon, the 80s returned to the great highway of old, their numbers now including the first generation born in the post-apocalyptic world. They had never seen the old USA, just hearing the tales of old. The Era of the thousand Bikes: [Shortly after the great war - 2120] The Era of The Era of the broken Highway: [2287-Today] "So they dragged mighty Thunderbird to the city of Shady Sands. In front of a vast crowd, he was brought before a court and sentenced to death. When the hangman laid the nose around his neck, proud and noble, Thunderbird proclaimed that the 80s would ride again, and that his blood would one day, ride through the streets of Shady Sands. He died that day, in front of a cheering crowd...and with him the 80s of California. Their struggle against the NCR was honorable and many of them ride now on the eternal highway in the sky with their ancestors. Yet California was lost...and with it, the journy from coast to coast." Population: Government/Domestic Politics: Notable People: Military (Be realistic for your factions population): Economy: Culture and Technology (include any views towards slavery and mutants etc.): Religion:
