Some say they are like sirens, beautiful and enticing men to their doom, and in that regard Vindani fits the idea of a Suvanna to a T. Elegant and mercurial, she's about fifteen feet long from head to tail and tries to stand at a bit under six feet tall when interacting with others. Her long white hair flows past her shoulders, fin-like ears emerging from the sides, with alluring yellow eyes standing out against her light blue scaled skin highlighted with salmon. She adores dressing in the latest, wildest fashions, though she's most comfortable with mixing her traditional purple cloak with a tight white blazer and scale-patterned purple tie..
BACKSTORY & MOTIVATION
Vindani was born to the royal family of the underwater kingdom of Ravana, trained from birth in the art of statecraft, intrigue, and courtly politics, all in the service of being a good mother to the next great king of whatever land she was married off to. Or at least, that's what she would have been if she didn't have any say in the matter. From a young age, Vindani was a menace to the court of Ravana and their traditionalist ways. Insatiably curious and fiendishly clever, she pushed boundaries and broke rules that the stuffy nobles didn't even know they had, sparking debates at court and infuriating religious leaders with her scandalous questions when she wasn't away exploring the world around her small kingdom, consorting with humans and other barbarous "landwalkers". Still, her parents hoped that age would temper the precocious youth, or at the very least she'd channel that boundless energy into being a dynamic, ambitious queen and a wonderful match for any prospective husband. Vindani, as always, had different ideas. And in her eagerness to explore strange new ideas, she finally went too far. Captured in the deepest depths of the royal archives with a forbidden text clutched in her arms, it became known far and wide that the princess of Ravana was studying the forbidden arts. Worse still, she confessed that she was doing more then merely studying and had become practiced with the most vile and wicked magic that the Suvanna possessed; Soulweaving. Vindani doubted that a magical ability could be inherently evil and had discovered her unnatural talent for Soulweaving almost on accident, but such deliberations did not matter to the Suvanna. Soulweaving was a crime of the highest order, and even for a noble of high birth, the punishment was death. Not even her family would dare lift a finger to save her, so like always Vindani took care of it on her own, stealing the face of a guard to escape captivity and leaving her old life behind for good. Newly and fiercely independent, Vindani did the Nomad thing for a good few years, exploring and trying everything she could find in the surface world while perfecting her use of Soulweaving to the point where it drew the attention of the mad machine Oh-One. Needing allies that could do what an army of robots could not, Oh-One appealed to their shared desire of being rejected by their loved ones and hired the Suvanna to infiltrate the World Martial Arts Tournament to track down the Power Stone. Vindani wasn't fooled for a second by Oh-One's pity act, especially since she didn't really give a damn about her family in the first place, but her eagerness to see what this Power Stone could do kept her in the robot's employ, putting her into conflict with a group of heroic nomads out to stop the mad machine. While her infiltration was invaluable and her Soulweaving was a crucial part of the machine that Oh-One intended to use in his master plan, Vindani turned out to be the worst kind of ally. Increasingly frustrated with the incompetence of her own teammates and regularly left out to dry by her boss, the slippery serpent was practically begging for a reason to turn traitor and found one in perhaps the worst way possible. After a particularly nasty brawl in a ruined factory complex, a floor collapse crushed Vindani underneath a ton of rubble. Gasping for breath and feeling her life slip away, as well as her allies, she was shocked to find, of all people, Isko Azevedo digging her free. Passing out before he finished, she woke up to find herself being tended to by her former enemies and spilled the entire plan to the group, staying behind to recover while they went off to fight their last battle. As always, Vindani may have been healthier then she appeared, and made sure to make a last minute appearance so that the overcompensating toaster knew who it was that betrayed him. Plus, she did owe Isko one for saving her life. Slipping away as the smoke cleared, Vindani left the heroes to their victory, not quite a hero herself but harboring a soft spot for those scrappy little nomads who saved the world. She'll be over in Gold City doing her own thing in the meantime, and if her old acquaintances wish to pay a visit, they're more then welcome to come to the Tidal Tempest once the sun goes down. It's a lovely spot for all sorts, mythics and nomads alike, and the lovely owner is a sight to behold. ;)

FIGHTING STYLE & ABILITIES

SKILLS & ABILITIES
Vindani is a masterful Soulweaver, an ancient and forbidden magic practiced by the Suvanna of old. Often described as "ki vampirism", Soulweaving allows her to sap the ki and similar energy of nomads, using it to fuel her own potent abilities. In addition to kinetic and energy blasts, this allows her to essentially 'copy' opponents. A glance can be enough for her to mimic appearances, and more aggressive attacks on an enemy's life energy can let her copy abilities and physical attacks. Vindani has trained her soulweaving to be incredibly efficient, drawing a lot of power from a small amount of life energy, meaning that her draining abilities are only debilitating for a moment or two, and she's also trained herself in other minor magical arts, mainly aquatic magic, as well as some physical attacks of her own, all designed to keep an opponent on the back foot and herself firmly in control of any fight.
SIGNATURE MOVES
■ [Twisting Tail]
[Vindani grapples an enemy with her long tail to throw or hold onto for soulweaving.]

■ [Viper Dance]
[Vindani fires a snake made of water as a projectile that weaves its way towards a target.]

■ [Typhoon Toss]
[Vindani summons torrents of water under her opponent's feet, sending them skyward.]

■ [Sea Change]
[Vindani temporarily vanishes into a puddle of water and re-emerges elsewhere to reposition and dodge attacks.]

SUPER MOVES
■ [Your Soul Is Mine]
[Vindani makes contact with an enemy to soulweave and copy their abilities, dependent on how long contact was made. When in Soulweave mode, Vindani transforms into a form halfway between her own and the soul she copies, mimicking ki attacks and equipment with energy and water-based abilities. Can be performed at range to mimic a single ranged ki attack.]

■ [Don't Beat Yourself Up About It]
[Vindani summons dozens of fragile copies of an opponent to gang up on and attack them before diving in for a final blow with her tail.

■ [Soul Eater]
[The final and perhaps most horrific technique used by soulweavers, initiated by fusing enough outside soul energy with her own ki to transform into a truly monstrous form. It is a technique that Vindani has yet to use, and hopefully will never need to use.]

WEAKNESSES & LIMITS
Being a creature native to the oceans, Vindani doesn't tend to function well in dry climates or any situation where water isn't readily available. Her reliance on soulweaving also means that an enemy that keeps their distance can wipe the floor with her, once they get past her less then exceptional physical abilities.

OTHER

Not much, not yet anyway

⦋ 25 (chronologically around 150) || Cowgirl || She/Her ⦌

OVERVIEW

APPEARANCE
Cassidy is a seven-foot tall centaur, a human-horse hybrid. Her skin is pale white flecked with brown on both halves, and her ears tend to blend in with her long, messy brown hair. Always ready to hit the trail, she's rarely seen outside of her black and brown leathers or without her gear, and when she's traveling she'll usually find something unique from that location to don for the occasion.
BACKSTORY & MOTIVATION
Cassidy may look young to our eyes, but her story goes back a long way. Hers started when she was just a foal and she was taken from her herd somewhere in Greece by an eccentric millionaire and shipped to Texas, only to escape into the West at the first opportunity to flee. She was raised by the Apache and taught to fight before she set out on her own terms, but instead of going home to Greece the untameable Cassidy headed west, seeking her own fortune and glory. It's said that she bumped shoulders with all of the famous names of the wild west, learning how to shoot from Billy the Kid, how to play poker from Wild Bill Hickock, and how to raise hell from Calamity Jane. Of all the wild figures, she may have just been the wildest of the bunch, going from robbing banks with Cassidy and the Wild Bunch to knocking back drinks with Doc Holiday. The Wild West couldn't last forever though, and like all the legends she fought alongside and even against, the wild Chrys Cassidy just wasn't made for the turn of the century. Not one to quietly retire, she planned to ride out the old west in style, but things took a rather weird turn for her when she traveled up to the Alaskan frontier for one last job, leading a posse to hunt down some kidnappers. Tracking down the villains, who turned out to be black-garbed men with a strange eye insignia on their lapels, a simple round up turned into a shootout when the two were accosted by, of all things, a band of ice giants who mistook Cassidy's posse for the black-garbed men's allies. In the chaotic brawl, Cassidy was struck by a ki-powered ice attack that froze her solid, and the chaotic battle triggered an avalanche that buried her in the snow and rubble. She would have most likely remained their forever until a band of scientists seeking to create the perfect life form went looking for her, wanting to use her DNA in their creation. Assuming that she had naturally died in the avalanche, they thawed her out and secured a sample of her genetic material. Or at least they tried, not knowing that the ice from a ki attack hadn't killed her but kept her in suspension, and were almost as surprised as she was when Cassidy woke up. Making a chaotic escape, the centaur cowgirl emerged into a much different time period then she left behind. To anyone else, being transported forward a good hundred years or so may have been a debilitating shock. For Cassidy though? It was just another wild ride!

FIGHTING STYLE & ABILITIES

SKILLS & ABILITIES
Cassidy is a unique fighter, combining physical ability with gunplay and a creative use of tools and tricks. Being a centaur, she's built to fight with a deadly combination of hard hits and mobility, dancing in and out of range before coming in for a brutal strike. Her species has a natural ability to imbue their weaponry with ki energy, putting them on the same level as nomads with the proper training, and she certainly has plenty of that to spare. She's a natural shot with her reliable arsenal of six-shooters and repeaters, quick on the draw and deadly accurate, and if that wasn't enough she can work a lasso and set up traps to keep you in place while she lines up her shots. In general, it's best to remember there's a reason they called her Wild Chrys Cassidy back in the day.
SIGNATURE MOVES
■ [Old West Action]
[Cassidy has a wide variety of arms, and in a fight she can swap between her six-shooters, repeating rifle, and her whip with ease.]

■ [Trapper]
[Cassidy tosses out a steel trap that can snare an enemy, holding them in place until they break free.]

■ [Rope Trick]
[Cassidy throws a lasso out to tie up an opponent, ideally knocking them over while restraining their legs.]

■ [Buck Shot]
[Cassidy spins around and donkey kicks an opponent before drawing her sawed-off and blasting them away.]

■ [Side Saddle]
[Cassidy runs alongside an enemy and fans the hammer, showering them with lead.]

SUPER MOVES
■ [Western Justice]
[Cassidy lassos an enemy around the legs and drags them along behind her for a good distance, bouncing them along before throwing them into a solid object at considerable speed.]

■ [So Anyway I Started Blasting]
[Cassidy shoots any weapons out of her opponents hands then unloads on them, firing off every weapon that she has before uncorking a bottle of whiskey, downing the whole thing in one go, and smashing it onto their head.

■ [Aces and Eights]
[Cassidy shuffles a deck of cards with one hand, tossing them at her enemy where they explode into a cloud of cards. Time seems to slow and, at a precise moment, she quick-draws and fires a shot straight through four cards, the black eights and black aces, before hitting her enemy dead center.]

WEAKNESSES & LIMITS
Cassidy may be a scrappy fighter and a deadly shot, but against a seasoned fighter like herself, she lives or dies off her mobility. If she's in an enclosed space or prevented from moving freely, she has to rely on her toughness to stay alive, which is definitely not her optimal strategy. She also lacks the restraint that comes with experience, and can be goaded into a bad decision rather easily if she's not thinking clearly.

OTHER

■ Since being unfrozen, she's worked with both the League of Bounty Hunters and has been a recurring side character on the Justice Riders show, oftentimes facing off against a certain masked vigilante.

■ The last guy who made a joke about riding her is in a shallow grave two miles off the Rio Grande with a belly full of lead. Don't try it.
