For a moment, he even thought the girl’s eyes were glowing red, though that could’ve just been the pepper spray still affecting his vision. When the girl was upon him again, ready to drop her fully laden backpack, the old man closed his eyes, seeming ready to accept his death.
[s]The Educator[/s] Brooklyn was seething with rage as she stood over the old man, ready to end him with her thirty-pound backpack. She was so mad in fact, that she could practically feel the heat radiating off of herself. It was at that moment, however, that she noticed it was getting quite warm in the cavern. Like, really, really warm. She then noticed the orange glow that started to tint the stone nearby, looking back up the staircase just in time to see the pillar of fire that emanated from thin air. The young girl practically froze in fear as the unnatural screams began, the ungodly sound seeming to be emitted from nowhere and everywhere at the same time. A part of the girl was telling her to run for dear life, especially when a heated shockwave made her stumble a little. Another part of her, however, especially when the demonic hands and face tore its way through what she presumed to be a portal on the ground, really wished she had a shotgun. She could practically hear the soundtrack of Doom in the background. The young girl watched with bated breath as the monstrosity pulled itself up to its shoulders before it opened its literally inflamed mouth and shook the place with its piercing cry. Brooklyn nearly stumbled again when the place shook, watching as the dust of the ancient area began to fall around her. Looking back to the monster’s gaping maw, which now had a… pathway, Brooklyn was just in time to see two very well dressed figures emerge from the flames. The first figure was actually quite handsome, devilishly so in fact. ”Holy shit he’s actually kinda hot…” She thought to herself, staring at the figure for a moment before her eyes flicked to the other person. This person though, quite literally made her jaw drop, though not for the same reason as his companion. As the two had their conversation, Brooklyn just kept staring, trying to comprehend why THE Raymond von Luneburg was here. The man, the myth, the legend quite literally being her idol figure despite all the various controversies about him. The last thing the girl expected, however, was for him to appear in front of her in wherever they were through what she could only describe as a hellgate. A more than fitting name, she decided, when Mr. Luneburg revealed that his companion was in fact Lucifer. Wait. Brooklyn’s mind came to a screeching halt as she took it all in. Raymond von Luneburg, her idol, coming into the room with Lucifer, as in literal biblical Lucifer, via hellgate. Right. This was all totally normal. She’s just dreaming. After all, there was no way that those conspiracy theorists were actually right and that her idol, Mr. Luneburg, had made some sort of deal with the devil for his success. While Brooklyn was distracted with her mind going AWOL, her subconscious basically acted for her, nodding dumbly at Mr. Luneburg’s request before dropping her backpack away from the old man, causing the stone it landed on to crack. Her attention was soon diverted to Lucifer after he spoke, the rage she had before with the old man now flaring back up, her hand beginning to fish for her bottle of pepper spray in her pocket while she gave the devil a fiery glare. Before she could bring out the bottle and spray him back to hell, however, she was stopped by his hand subsequent explanation. The girl simply responded with a huff as she crossed her arms, watching as Lucifer left the scene before finally looking back to Mr. Luneburg. The brunette’s rage was controlled, for now, simply simmering so long as no one makes any further advances. She nodded in acknowledgment as Mr. Luneburg spoke, sitting down on the staircase before letting out an exasperated sigh. ”Well, instead of explaining… whatever this was supposed to be, could you just tell me how to wake up instead? I swear I haven’t had a dream as crazy as this one in a long while but I think I’ve had my fair share of it already…” She replied tiredly, bringing her hands up to rub her temples before running one through her hair. ”Maybe I gotta stop reading about those conspiracy theories too… I mean like, Mr. Luneburg, making a deal with the devil, really? It sounded preposterous in the first place but seeing it in a dream just makes it all the more ridiculous… Oh man, I really hope I didn’t actually miss my bus stop, I really don’t wanna call an Uber this late…” She rambled on as if Mr. Luneburg wasn’t actually there.
