She claims that her skimpy clothing is because she is used to much colder weather, which she is, but more than one observer has noted that her clothing leaves others a bit hot and bothered.[/indent] [u][b]BACKSTORY & MOTIVATION [/b][/u] [indent]Born in a rural town in the north of the Quebec Province, Otsana is the middle child of a very large family. Even at a young age, her seemingly boundless pool of ki manifested itself as she out-ran, out-lasted, and out-scrapped her siblings and other children. She easily fit into the the 'wild-child' stereotype that follows her kind; running through the woods barefoot, scaring livestock, and generally raising hell. By the time she reached sixteen years old, her parents had sent her to Saint Christopher's Boarding School in Québec City. While this was intended to be a punishment, she quite enjoyed herself. She often slipped away from her chaperones to explore the city, often sneaking out to get into the same shenanigans she did back home. However she did manage to do well in her studies and had a knack for avoiding serious consequences. It was here she first developed an attunement to her ki, instinctively developing her ki-sense as she dodged her chaperones. However what did get her enthusiasm the most was the summer trips to her cousins in the States, where she first got to fire guns. Ultimately, when she did graduate a recruiter managed to convince her to join the army. They made it sound like she'd get paid to do what she liked, which was cause trouble while playing with guns. While this was true, they didn't mention that she'd be expected to work within a command structure. Even being the designated machine-gunner of her squad wasn’t enough to make her stop chafing with her superiors. However it was in the Army where she finally discovered how to use Ki, when during an ambush she instinctively managed to use her ki to keep firing her gun long after the magazine had run out. Needless to say, the military was quite keen to use her once this manifested. She was convinced to join a special forces unit composed primarily of Ki users. Here she was taught the finer points of blowing things up, smashing faces, and general asskicking while also refining her ki usage. All things must come to an end, and so did Otsana's term of service. After several years worth of missions, there came a point where it became clear that she just didn't have the temperament to stay much longer. Barely receiving an honorable discharge, she found herself in high demand as a mercenary. She could be picky with her contracts, and often chose them based on how fun they sounded, like sabotage. These contracts were often broken up with her own activities, which often included robberies. It was these criminal activities that gained her notoriety, though she was careful to cultivate a Robin Hood style image, especially if it helped her escape. Sometimes this means tossing wads of cash behind her to attract a mob to slow down the cops, sometimes it means running away rather than finishing off a popular vigilante, and other times it means evacuating a corrupt official’s office building before blowing it up. Either way, Otsana has become a globe trotter, eating when it's fun; drinking when it's fun; and fighting when it's fun.[/indent] [/indent] [h3][b]FIGHTING STYLE & ABILITIES[/b][/h3][hr ] [indent][u][b]SKILLS & ABILITIES [/b][/u] [indent]Otsana carries several guns and explosives. Otsana uses her guns both as melee weapons and as ranged weapons. She switches between dual wielding one handed weapons and using her machine gun. She's been trained in using her firearms as meele weapons, and they have been hardened accordingly. Her ki enhances her senses, strength, and durability, letting her use her guns with extreme precision. Additionally she's developed an unusual technique of channeling her Ki through her weapons, putting the 'fire' in 'firearms'. All her shots look like tracer rounds, but are actually miniature fireballs. her ki sensing training came from the army, where it was mainly emphasized to give her a situational awareness of where people are in relation to her, as well as their relative power levels.[/indent] [u][b]SIGNATURE MOVES [/b][/u] [indent]■ One Handed: Both Barrels [indent] Otsana draws her sawn-off shotgun and, like the name suggests, fires both barrels at once. While these all serve practical purposes (Keeps the sun out of her eyes, vision enhancement, and weather protection), the only other practical concessions to her dangerous lifestyle is a recently added lining of kevlar and practical shoes.[/indent] [u][b]BACKSTORY & MOTIVATION [/b][/u] [indent]Margot’s family can trace their origins back to the days of the Musketeers, where they served alongside the actual Athos, Aramis, Porthos, and D’Artangan. Since then, at least one member from every generation served under the crown of France. When the Revolution came, their blood was spilled on both sides of the conflict, and even more lost their heads to the guillotine. Still, when France needed them, the Coudray family answered. Members marched on Moscow under Napoleon, fought in the trenches of Verdun, and pushed the Nazis from Paris. Growing up listening to these stories impressed a sense of pride and heritage on Margot. While not as militarily inclined as her forefathers, she took up the family sword-fighting tradition from a young age. While the art had certainly fallen by the wayside on the modern battlefield, no shortage of Nomads fill criminal ranks the world over. A chance encounter and foiling of a mugging convinced her to 'even the odds'. Taking up the mantle 'Renard Bleu', she joined the ranks of amateur vigilantes as she strove to keep alive the ideals of the Musketeers by defending the weak. Unfortunately, like many other Vigilantes, the rush of fighting and fame proved to be all too alluring. More and more of her time was devoted to showing off her own powers through theatrical interventions in criminal activities, extending to participating in fighting tournaments with others, even making a tidy sum off the winnings. On the streets her interventions became more theatrical, often planning her arrivals to maximize the impact and visibility. However in doing so she broke one of the cardinal rules of vigilantism: Do Not Interfere With A Police Investigation. While thwarting street level drug deals and robberies were one thing, breaking into Milieu connected offices and businesses was a big no-no. The search for evidence often complicated police investigations by tainting any evidence that was gathered, making it inadmissible in court. Margot did one worse. While investigating a business related to the Comtois family she accidentally blew the cover of an undercover police officer. What started as a simple break-in soon turned into a frantic three way fight between the police, the Comtois, and a handful of vigilantes. When the dust settled, there were multiple casualties on all sides, the DGSE had lost years worth of progress, and the Comtois even managed to sue some of the unmasked vigilantes. The uproar was immediate. While the public had rallied behind the vigilantes and their fight for the common man, so many dead police soured public outlook towards them. Calls to reign in vigilantes soon forced many to retire or submit to oversight. Margot chose neither, convinced that she had been set up for failure. Fuming, she left France, using her sizable winnings to travel the world, eventually ending up in Gold City on one of her many stops as she considered her options, and do some soul searching. In normal fights, she keeps the sheathes of her blades on, only exposing then when a fight gets serious. Until that point, they act like a pair of clubs, albeit pretty ones. This also gives her extra reach compared to most other fighters. A world class fencer, Margot wins fights by controlling when and how she moves into striking range. Always mobile, she often attacks and moves in one motion. When possible, she tries to follow up an attack with a combo to press an advantage. She uses her fighting spirit to reinforce these techniques, using it to augment the speed and range of her lunges as well as enhance her mobility. As her technique represents hundreds of years of refinement, she is also trained in ki sensing, though she also augments this with her mask's vision enhancements.[/indent] [u][b]SIGNATURE MOVES [/b][/u] [indent]■ Coupe-rose (Rose Cutter) [indent] One of her only ground fighting moves, Margot dashes forward and slides, sweeping the opponent's legs out from under them with a kick. [/indent] [u][b]BACKSTORY & MOTIVATION [/b][/u] [indent] Born and raised in raised in the heart of West Texas, Jamie he easily split his time between his duties on the ranch and the classroom and excelling in both. He was a model youth, joining the local Scout troop, Captaining the debate team, and even winning medals as part of the school Judo team. By the time he graduated high school, he was set on studying Law and becoming a Texas Ranger. For him this meant joining the Army, taking advantage of the ROTC to get his degree in Criminology. After nearly a decade of service in the army, he was honorably discharged with plenty of experience with the Military Justice System under his belt. From there, it was a (relatively) simple matter of joining the famous organization, spending nearly ten years working as a Detective in Company E of the Texas Ranger Division. There he became known for his bulldog nature, wrapping up criminals in a legal snare of their own creation before bringing the hammer down on them. For the more rough and tumble ki-using criminals that chose not to come in quietly, Jamie was more than happy to make them regret their need to fight back. Needless to say, once MIRAGE started making trouble, he was quickly transfered to MAVERICK, one of many law enforcement officials that volunteered in the call to bulk up the agency in the face of the new threat. At least that's the story he tells most people. In reality he's been working with MAVERICK for nearly his whole civillian career. Plenty of his cases had an angle that interested them in some way, and a majority of the serious criminals he caught were wanted by MAVERICK already. THeir assitance was always welcome, as they were happy to let local law enforcement pick and choose which cases to transfer to MAVERICK. However things started to chafe in the last few years. Even prior to the offical transfer, more and more cases were taken out of his hands and transfered to a MAVERICK investegation team. Years of evidence handed over to them, and the perp would disappear into their custody, never to be heard from again. It came to a head one night when he was called out to investegate a massive fight in a warehouse outside of the small town of Clearspring. Even as he showed up, boxes were being taken away in unmarked vans by MAVERICK agents, along with numerous bodies. He was given a pre-written report to sign off on. He exploded, throwing the report back in the agent's face and storming off, shouting that he would make sure that the Ranger Chief would know of this interference. He didnt even get to his car before he was subdued. The Jamie that walked back into his office the next day was a changed man. He turned in his report, attributing the fight to drug cartels. And so to this day he has served MAVERICK, and by extention MIRAGE, duitifully. Covering up their activities, fabricating evidence against their enemies, and carefully scouting out other Rangers to turn to their side. Eventually he was told to transfer into MAVERICK offically, and he duitifully did so, freeing himself to serve at their leisure. Over the years he traveled from country to country, helping clean up MIRAGE's messes, either with a polite smile and drawl, a badge and a warrant, or fist to the face.[/indent] [/indent] [h3][b]FIGHTING STYLE & ABILITIES[/b][/h3][hr ] [indent][u][b]SKILLS & ABILITIES [/b][/u] [indent]Jamie's fighting style is very grappling centric. He uses his strength and skill to grapple opponents before subduing them with a flurry of strikes. To this end, he uses a whip to restrain and control his targets, controlling them as he moves in like a bulldog. This has a threefold effect. First, the actual punch. Second, the metal cartridges channel electricity very well. Third, this also sets the rounds off at point blank range. Furthermore, his whip has a limited range, and a sweet spot of use, meaning that Jamie is unable to hit targets outside the range of his whip and is less effective when he cannot get a full swing of his arm. Additionally, most of his hard hitting moves require setting up in the form of Entangle.
