“The Mankind’s enemies are a legion… but in His name, we shall prevail.”
Faction Name: The Sisters of Battle Force Name: Battle Sister Squad from Preceptory of the Yunnalin System, the Order of the Fiery Thorn Leader Name: Sister Superior Sabine Why They Were Chosen: The Yunnalin System’s Preceptory of the Order of the Fiery Thorn has sent forces to aid the Inquisition. As some of the most capable warriors, Sabine and her squad were chosen specifically to assist Inquisitor Hera. Leader Biography Sabine was born decades ago on a remote space station Bastille V orbiting a gas giant and extracting the planet’s atmosphere for promethium. Sabine’s life took a change for the worse, when a band of Dark Eldar pirates suddenly tried to attack the space station. The pirates breached the outer defences in a sudden surprise attack. The station barely had time to react and send a distress signal. As the Dark Eldar entered the inner halls of the space station, slaughtering anyone who tried to resist and capturing anyone who did not, a squad of Space Marines arrived, as they had been nearby passing by. Sabine’s parents, two former Imperial Guard veterans, were killed in the attack. They had been a part of the station security forces. Sabine barely remembers her earliest childhood or life before attending the Schola Progenium, as she spent most of her teenage years in a Schola Progenium, where she was thoroughly trained by the Drill Abbesses to serve the Imperium with faith and loyalty. She was ear-marked to become a Sister of Battle. In her late teens, she was inducted to the minor Order of the Fiery Thorn and continued to be trained and drilled by more senior Sisters. Sabine showed great promise for close quarters fighting, beating many of her Acolyte-Sisters and showing aggressiveness, faith and obedience in training. In her twenties, Sabine fought on many battles against the savage orks and devious heretics, proving her worth on many occasions. She inspired a great many Guardsmen with her example and lead her squad with distinction. She quickly rose to the rank of Sister Superior. She has a taste for fighting as close and dirty to the enemy. The Sisters of Battle of the Order of the Fiery Thorn are following the martial traditions of the Order of the Bloody Rose, excelling in close quarters fighting showing no fear on the face of dark aliens or devious heretics. They favour close quarters weapons and fighting in the front lines with the regular soldiers of the Imperium, showing fierceness and a lack of mercy for the enemies of the Mankind. Their main colours in their power armours are black, red and white. Currently, Sabine is on her mid-thirties and physically in as great condition a human could possibly be without augmentations. On the ancient Holy Terra, she could be described as looking like an Amazon of old myths with her olive skin and dark, short hair. She is bearing many battle-scars on her skin and a rather long one on her face, running on the right side of her face. Sabine's personality seems relentless and professional, but she can also showcase great wrath upon her enemies and lack of empathy for weakness and cowardice in her comrades. Her current squad consists of four other close quarters experts and veterans. Sisters Emilia, Adriana, Iona the Younger and Anais are as fierce warriors and strong in faith as Sister Superior Sabine. They have survived assaults and close quarters fights with hordes of orks, heretics and other foes. If they had to be compared to the regular or the special forces of the Imperial Guard, someone might call them loose cannons, reckless in assault and unhinged attitude bordering a liability, but one should have them on their side in a close quarters battle. Recently, Sister Superior Sabine was posted to the Yunnalin System’s Preceptory for training new Sisters from local planets, but as Inquisitor Hera hailed for aid, Sabine was chosen by the Preceptory’s Canoness Preceptor Constantia to represent the Sisters of Battle. They have strong bonds between them, and their loyalty to the Imperium’s cause should not be lightly questioned. They all hail from different planets, but have been serving as a squad for several years. - Sister Superior Sabine • Battle-Sister Emilia • Battle-Sister Adriana • Battle-Sister Iona the Younger • Battle-Sister Anais Equipment: - Power Armour Suits (Adepta Sororitas Variant) x 5 o Enhanced strength o Limited life support in vacuum and toxic locations - Sabbat Pattern Helmets x 5 o Rebreather for vacuum and toxic locations o Optics modes (thermal) o Photovisor (for operations in bright and low light) o Commlink o Rangefinder - Rule of the Sororitas (a book on the traditions and beliefs of the Sisters’ Order) - Weapons o Powersword (Furious Rose) x 1 - Furious Rose has the names of the previous wielders carved on it and has rose carvings on the blade. o Chainswords x 4 o Godwyn-De’az Pattern Boltpistols x 5 o Order of the Fiery Thorn's Combat Knives x 5 - Steel Combat Knives with half a foot long blade are given to the Sisters of the Preceptory as a token of their role as guardians of the Imperium. o Frag Grenades o Krak Grenades Relationships: - With Inquisitor Hera: The Inquisition is to be obeyed, at all costs. If an Inquisitor calls for aid, we will answer! - With the Adeptus Arbites: The police force of the Imperium, they are a varied bunch. Can they be trusted to follow the law to the letter? - With the Adepta Sororitas: Our example should inspire others for bravery and self-sacrifice in the name of the Emperor. Others might see us as fanatics; we ourselves as truly faithful and pure at heart. - With the Adeptus Tempestus: A prestigious lot of soldiers. Wonderful comrades at arms, cannot question their commitment to the Emperor. - With the Assassin Temples: Shadowy, enigmatic and with their own hidden agendas. They deal in half-truth and misdirection at best. They should be trusted only with a bolter in hand. - With the Astra Militarum: The Hammer of the Emperor… and the great shield that protects the planets of Mankind in His name. They face countless terrors daily, but with faith in the Emperor we shall prevail. - With the Skitarii: Not much practical experience dealing with the Adeptus Mechanicus or their Tech-Priests or their military arm. Are they totally human anymore, or are they more like machines?
