Subaru is by no means a misanthrope but prefers the company of those who appreciate the value of silence as much as he does. She'll speak every so often, but she suffers to articulate long-winded sentences. She isn't shy or introverted, though, just... easily absorbed in her own thoughts, to the point of absentmindedness.
[*][COLOR=CORNFLOWERBLUE][B]Abilities[/B][/COLOR]: Subaru is a decently accomplished mage with quite a bit of name under her family's belt. She has been born and bred in a proper magus family, as their sucessor, so it's only to be expected that she's good at her craft. When it comes to magecraft specialties, Subaru is an expert at astromancy and music-based magecraft. She has been born with a rather rare sorcery of being a Tuner—someone able to adjust and quite literally tune other's magic circuits, like a musical instrument—a source of stable income for her family, who would otherwise burn all of their resources in crazy expensive Astromancy implements.

As is usual for astromancy practitioners, she dabbles in some aspects of Kabbalah, particularly Numerology, allowing her to do know how to do High-speed Incantations, and the ability to convert her magical energy into other forms, such as heat and electricity.
[*][COLOR=CORNFLOWERBLUE][B]History[/B][/COLOR]: A mage from a family that used to practice traditional forms of Japanese witchcraft, that's until one of their ancestors took a liking to Western-style magecraft, in particular astromancy as well as Western Classic Music, after falling in love with and eventually marrying the second child of a western family whole founded a conservatory, actually, more like a Liberal Arts faculty, in Tokyo during the Restoration.

Subaru never had any particularly uncommon developments in her life, at least for a mage. She's dedicated to her family arts, be it on the mundane or magical worlds. Aside from her magecraft skills, she's a particularly talented violinist who has made a name for herself in Tokyo's musician community despite her relatively young age. Recently she moved to London to further her education on both ends. She was finding success on it, especially when it came to making money as a Tuner, but being chosen by Holy Grail brought her back home for an encore.
