There's also the concern over Naughty Dog supposedly mistreating its employees
If this was an issue that many gamers drew a line against, more games (hell, even some movies) would be review bombed or boycott. Probably ineffectively but that's the internet for you. I'm not saying crunch is good - far from it - but it's an issue that is easy for some to use as a shield. Even some of the people going around shit posting are doing so with the whole "LMAO CRUNCH FOR THIS AWKWARD SEX SCENE? WAS IT WORTH IT CUCKMANN!" and all that nonsense. Obviously, yes, people do care about it but it's not at all a leading factor in the review bombing and the, like, two months of discourse about the game with the leaks. And it certainly isn't much of a factor critically despite all the articles about Naughty Dog's practices. But Kuro said it better. The problem when something gets review-bombed or otherwise brigaded is that it makes actual discourse about the thing considerably harder and that's unfortunate. For all I know, TLOU2 does have a bad story, but I don't think a bad story makes a game bad - unless it's a bad visual novel or something where story is the point - and TLOU has more going on than its story. [sub][s]Which is a shame that what it has going on is Naughty Dog's boring gameplay[/s][/sub] Anyway, here's hoping Ghost of Tsushima slaps.
