Since real research work is often dominated by grubbing for funding, thought I'd have a character who reflects that reality.

Personality: Bryan from Finance is all about the numbers and believes in being professional. He'll be friendly and ask about your weekend, sure, but then it's down to business. People occasionally find it difficult to get a read on him. He is generally stoic and hard to impress.


Skills: Bryan is a very good accountant. He also plays bass guitar and was in a garage band for a while. He's not a very good bassist. 

Weaknesses: Bryan does not have a background in science. Concepts need to be explained to him in layman's terms. He also has a weakness for baked goods.


Brief History: Bryan is the product of an utterly unremarkable environment. Growing up in a stable suburban home, abortive membership in several short-lived garage bands, graduating in the top 40% of his class at an affordable state school, finding work with Paragon. He was assigned to the administrative staff at Brightside as a junior accountant. While his rank is low, his position is important to the researchers: he is in charge of allocating funds to various research projects. Much of his job is hearing cases from the scientific team about why their particular project deserves money.
