She gives off the illusion of being much younger than she is due to the way she acts. She has a high-pitched voice, she's spastic and easily excitable. And she also has a bit of a baby-face worst of all. The girl is always on the move and can't seem to hold still for the life of her. Which is a bit off-putting due to the people that know her for being a bit more reserved... and mature. In contrast to the rest of the Vanburens, her voice is loud and booming. And she likes being the center of attention. Now, probably the first thing that people notice about Isabella is that she's racially... ambiguous. She has tan skin that is covered in freckles and facially she appears to be a mix of everything. That's because she is mixed, her father is the fully caucasian James Vanburen and her mother is Ivete Valos, a woman that's almost as mixed as Isabella (Primarily she's African American, but she has a bit of Japanese and Brazilian in there). This blending the genes makes Isabella a rather stand out person. Isabella has slanted eyes, Afro-textured hair, golden-brown skin, and a face covered in freckles that makes it vague what race she is. To Isabella... she's Isabella. In terms of build, she has a lightning-fast metabolism provided by her mother's side of the family and she does participate in some physical activity. And by some I mean not a whole lot, because Isabella has a hard time motivating herself into doing it a lot of time. There ain't a whole lot of muscle on Isabella, there's probably a bit more fat on her than anything. Which went to her feminine parts it seems, as Isabella inherited her mother's enormous backside and her chest is a solid 38D. She's curvy but she usually wears outfits that accent her figure. Terms of height she's about two inches over the female average, but it isn't like most people will even notice.
[/cell][/row]
[sub] Psychology[/sub] [sub][sup]▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔[/sup][/sub] ""I'm missing... something."
MAIN GOAL ⫻ Isabella says that she's missing something and that her long term goal was to find it. People usually take it in a metaphorical sense, but those familiar in the Extra-Normal find a different meaning. Either way, Isabella wants to live life to its fullest and get as much enjoyment as she can out of life. It's all about partying, meeting new people, experiencing new things, and Isabella is the very definition of a rich party. All in the name of getting those brain chemicals to activate. PHILOSOPHY ⫻ Contrary to belief, Isabella is a nihilist. She doesn't believe that there is much point or meaning in life and the end, nothing ever matters. This is why Isabella wants to create her meaning in life and damn if anyone's going to stop her. Isabella believes that her meaning in life is having as much fun as possible and damn responsibilities. Isabella doesn't spend a whole lot of time delving into the meaning of things and people and whatnot, taking things at face value because it's easier for herself. SEXUALITY ⫻ Isabella's sexuality is ambiguous to herself. She thinks that she's bisexual but finds herself more attracted to boys than girls (or that she's a party lesbian). It's not exactly something that she gave too much thought to other than having fun. FEARS ⫻ The feeling of missing something is a very powerful one, and what is worse is the feeling that it's just out of reach. Isabella fears a lot of things deep down that she drowns with her partying and hedonism and they aren't simple fears like being afraid of spiders. They're complex ones like the feeling of inadequacy and insecurity that looms over Isabella's head like a dark cloud. She knows that her life is pointless, and it pains her but she tries to find optimism in it like a light in the darkness. REPUTATION ⫻ In Araminta, she's not exactly seen too kindly... she's seen as the trouble-maker jackass daughter of James that causes trouble partying and doing stupid things. And getting bailed out of it by James or because she's a Vanburen. In the Vanburen family, she's not seen too differently, but they see her as undergoing a huge change because she wasn't always like this. She acted more considerate and reserved before she encountered that Apparition. THOUGHTS ABOUT FATHER ⫻ Like many of the other Vanburens, she sees him in a good light because he saved her life. And the lives of some of her siblings in the Valos family when they were attacked. Isabella intentionally ignores the bad things he did and will try her best to continue doing that for her happiness. FLAWS ⫻ Isabella has a whole lot of them. Namely the fact that she has a hard time controlling her emotions and impulses... she's supremely impulsive, brash, and is almost entirely driven by her impulses. Isabella is also somewhat childish and immature and has a hard time taking some things seriously, and that puts her at odds with older more mature people. Isabella's only goal is getting some type of pleasure and have fun and likes to have her way.
[sub] Backstory[/sub] [sub][sup]▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔[/sup][/sub] "It's best that I don't talk about it."
Isabella's conception and birth was a complicated situation, to give context James famously had a rival named Jason Valos. Jason and his business was a massive, multimillion-dollar, industry that built owned many different casinos, clubs, hotels, and whatnot, under his thumb. He tried to expand out to the good old city of Araminta and build a massive casino, but James always, in Jason's words, cockblocked him. Mainly to keep Araminta, which was already rife with drug abuse, free from even more problems. And that pissed Jason off to no end so he decided to hit James where it hurts and sent one of his daughters to get into the Vanburen family. And that daughter was Ivete Valos, probably the biggest party girl degenerate of the entire Valos family. They were both at the same big ass party hosted by their mutual friend the Lius and Ivete partied with James and eventually seduced him after he got drunk. Ivete got pregnant from the affair and used that to ruin his current marriage and married into the Vanburens after shaming James publicly, which unfortunately came after the birth of Isabella Vanburen. Isabella is a named Vanburen, but she was caught in the crossfire of the very complicated politics of Araminta, namely the Vanburens and the Valos. And that was because Ivete (and to that extent, Jason) was outsmarted by James who made Ivete sign a prenup. So, Jason's plan was dead in the water and it wasn't long before Ivete and James divorced but at least James gave her his word to give Isabella everything she wanted and more. So Isabella lived her early life going back and forth between the Vanburens and the Valos (who are situated in Miami). Most of the time Isabella was in Araminta with the Vanburens attending school and her summers were spent with the Valos in Miami. The Valos were an interesting lot... and by that I mean they were fucking insane. She spent her time with the much smaller Valos family's children and most of the time they were partying or having some sort of adventure. Most of the time it ended in something crazy happening (or was that just Florida?). It was something that Isabella found fun and appealing, for the short term. Her time in Araminta was less... hot. Isabella learned in a high-class school and got some of the top grades there! Though it wasn't really for Isabella, she felt, but James pushed her to be her very best. While in Araminta Isabella forged relationships with anyone except the Vanburens, and while in Miami she partied and was a lot more social. Honestly, Isabella didn't like that constant back and forth and wanted one consistency in her life. It wasn't long before Isabella graduated from high school and she was set off to get a degree at Harvard. Daddy Vanburen set everything up for her, but right before she was set to leave there was a huge party on Christmas Eve. It was supposed to be the greatest time but... on Christmas Day they found out that James was dead. It was the most horrifying news that Isabella ever heard and they couldn't even find a reason why he died. Needless to say, Isabella didn't go to Harvard. Desperate for some kind of answer, even a hint, Isabella started going through James' things and found a treasure trove about the Extra-Normal. It was fascinating... but it made Isabella think hard about James' death. And then she deduced that something Extra-Normal was involved. After all, magic seemingly returned around the same time James died it seems. However, she got her own taste of magic when she came across a strange statue of a cat among James things. She touched it and a voice began speaking to her that startled her so much that she ended up dropping it. It shattered instantly and Isabelle accidentally released the apparition that immediately latched itself onto Isabella to prevent itself from fading away. Isabella wanted the Apparition gone but it told her of all the great power that it could bestow her... and told her that she can help her find out what happened to James. Using the abilities that the Apparition gifted her, Isabella delved into Araminta's magical society all by herself... and then she eventually crossed the wrong Apparition and... the details of that incident were kept a secret by Isabella. But the Vanburens saw a huge change in Isabella, no longer did she want to look into her father's death or even take anything seriously. All Isabella did was a party and fuck around in Araminta and Miami. The only reason why Isabella came back to Araminta in the first place was that she noticed that she was turning into stone.
[sub] Abstraction[/sub] [sub][sup]▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔[/sup][/sub] "Wait, if the ghost is called "Of Nine-Thousand Cats" shouldn't I have nine thousand lives?"
TYPE ⫻ Aberration (Affixed) ABSTRACTION ⫻ Of Nine Thousand Cats, the ability to come back from deadly wounds, and display other catlike abilities. ABSTRACTION DESCRIPTION ⫻ Of Nine-Thousand Cats is a not-quite-ancient Apparition that was the combined spirits of, well, nine thousand cats. A particularly snarky and catty Apparition that didn't exactly like humans and spent most of their days cursing humans and casually murdering dogs... until James was kind enough to seal Of Nine Thousand Cats and after getting out, all the superstition behind cats had faded away. Thus, they affixed themselves to a human for the first time in years. Their abstraction shifted from cursing humans (and fucking over dogs) to helping one particular human in order to stay alive. Of Nine-Thousands Cats isn't a particularly powerful apparition, however, their abstraction had a bit more utility. Whenever Of Nine-Thousand Cats was affixed to a feline, that feline was kind of immortal. It was because Of Nine-Thousand Cats' chief ability was, well, nine lives. The ability only activates when Isabella is injured or is about to be killed. If she's decapitated, then her head will reappear right on her shoulders good as new. If she falls off a skyscraper, she'll land on the ground as if she didn't hit terminal velocity. If she's impaled on a spike then she'll teleport off of it good as new. This ability allows Isabella to recover from mortal wounds almost instantly, but it isn't quite true regeneration or immortality. So she could get stabbed and if that bitch is non-fatal, then she's going to have to deal with the knife wound the old fashion way. There's a limit, of course. Once Isabella uses all nine lives, she's as mortal as anybody else. There's a way to replenish these lives and it ain't something that Isabella lives. To put it simply, she can replenish these lives by taking them from regular housecats - which is fatal for them. There's also another ability that Isabella can use that allows her to give cats these lives, and even resurrect them - but she probably won't use it. Of Nine-Thousand Cats grants other abilities... primarily the famed cat-like agility. Isabella is incredibly mobile, fast, and has a supernatural sense of balance - and yes, she will always land on her feet. This allows her to climb on stuff and perform feats that are not possible for even the best-trained Olympic athletes. She's just capable of fast movements like a cat, but her reflexes aren't any better than average. In addition, Isabella's sense of hearing and smell are impeccable and allows her to track down people like the most well-trained predator. Finally, Isabella is capable of summoning glowing tiger claws on her fingertips which aren't any sharper or durable than regular tiger claws. She can still give somebody a nasty cut. LIMITS ⫻ As stated before, Of Nine-Thousand-Cats requires some specific parameters to even activate. It's not true regeneration, it's more of coming back from a fatal situation. This means, to even regenerate, Isabella needs to be fatally injured first and anything below that will be healed the all-natural way. There's also a cap at nine lives, and at the start of the story, Isabella has already used one. The only way to replenish it is to murder cats and Isabella does not like using that. WEAKNESSES ⫻ Cats don't like water, and Of Nine-Thousand Cats is no different. If she drowns, then all nine lives will be bypassed and she'll be dead. However, Of Nine-Thousand Cats won't activate if she's wet either, so that should be kept in mind. Other than that, Isabella doesn't have too many weaknesses due to the low yield nature of her ability. Of course, inherent to an enhanced sense of smell, she gets to smell everyone's body odor in vivid detail. Also, on a humorous note, apparently, she can get stuck up trees.
