Fraternis Militaris reporting for duty Ma'am!
Faction Name: Fraternis Militaris Force Name: Redemptionist Cult of Yunnalin V Leader Name: Davian F. Calian Leader Bio: Davian was formerly a lowborn hive scum puke born within the depths of Yunnalin V's Hive Spire VII among the gangsters and mutants who lived below the hive proper. His youth was constantly filled with brutal brawls and fights for his very life. Before he was seven he had killed his first man. By the time he had hit the age of sixteen he had killed his first mutant. When he hit the age of twenty two, he struck down his first heretic, some mutant worshiping mad-man who was trying to breed the creatures into some sort of army, or so Davian claims. When the young man had hit the age of twenty four his gang was pinned in a sewage tunnel by a group of mutants. Davian watched as his friends and family were devoured by the malformed dregs of humanity and within him a fire bloomed. A fire by which he would purify the heretic, the mutant, the witch. As Redemptionists cleared their way into the horde of wretched abominations, drawn from nearby by the sounds of combat, they found a few gangsters had survived, chief among them was Davian. A man who strode wreathed in some sort of flames spewing from his head-dress spoke to the remaining hive gangsters and offered them a chance to find a meaning to their lives, to not just squabble in the muck and filth of the hives but to instead absolve themselves of the sins wriggling within their souls. While most would reject this offer, instead fleeing from the red robed maniacs who had come to save them, Davian knelt down before their leader. This lead to him getting a boot to the chin and a stern lecturing on how one only kneels to Emperor or one of his holy sons, and thus Davian's new life as a Redemptionist began. Forty years has passed since Davian's initiation into the Redeptionists of Yunnalin V and despite numerous setbacks over his life, he has managed to not only survive but thrive among the madmen he keeps company with. His favored sin to purge is that of the Heretic, those who'd traffic with Daemons or False Gods would feel the revving blade of a chainsword or if unlucky enough to be out of arm's reach, the purifying flames of blessed promethium. Davian has ascended up the ranks of the Redemptionist's to Deacon, a position kept by those deeply trusted by the Cult. This trust comes with some power over his lesser fellows, a Heavy Flamer, and Davian's most prized tool. The Eviscerator, a massive chainsword able to rend heavy steel walls and the bulkiest of foes found within the underhive. Now, he has heard a call from the Emperor's most holy Inquisition, to call upon the faithful and the fearless to purge sin from Hive VI and he is unable to resist. He roars and calls for his fellows as he whips them into a frenzy, into a righteous fury as they drive forwards to assist in a great cleansing. All within Hive VI must die, but he and his Redemptionists will save their souls before killing their bodies. Direct Superior: Redemptor Priest Lucian Vile, leader of the Redemptionists of Yunnalin V. Troop Count: 10 Extraordinary Troops Derek Martium: A former Imperial Guardsman who was deployed to protect Ecclessiarchal Assets on Yunnalin V, he has become a member of the Redemptionists, using his former military background to exceptional effect against the mutants and heretics found in the depths of the hive. Notably, his right arm has been replaced with some sort of haphazard cybernetics. Leon "Sparky" Vallian: A Heretek who joined up with the Redemptionists to avoid being hunted down by the Adeptus Mechanicus, he is responsible for most of the Cult's haphazardly held together gear, and Derek's arm. He is exceptionally skittish around Mechanicus forces, and will attempt to keep far away from them. He's also perhaps the only one not keen on throwing himself into certain death for the Emperor. Gristle: A brute of a man who is blessed with a mind too small for thought, he is one of the more heavily built members of the Redemptionist Cult forces, standing nearly seven feet tall with his frame covered in rippling muscles. While he can understand low gothic, he cannot speak it, and will respond with physical gestures. Mark-oh "Sharp Shot" Higgins: A former hive gangster, Mark-oh utilizes his former life to its fullest potential, using the shooting his skills he learned to try to pick off targets so his brothers may get into the melee they so desperately crave. He is often mocked for his tactics, but in the hive one either has thick skin, or a quick hand. Mark-oh has both. Leroy "Bile" Higgins: Mark-Oh's older brother, Leroy is considered even by the Redemptionists as a bit of a madman, as he favors horrific weaponry to maximize the suffering of his enemies to best purge them of their sins. He and Leon are thick as thieves however, as Leon helps him maintain his horrific weaponry in return for Leroy's protection. Calian practices caution with Leroy, fearing the man may one day attempt to either destroy himself with some truly vile method of death, or that his sadism will overtake him. "Greasy" Balthazar Lorvain: Leon's "apprentice" who is being taught all the mechanical skills Leon knows. While nowhere as adept with machinery as Leon, he is versed enough to unjam a flamer, or repair a damaged Chain-Sword. He lacks Leon's skittishness near Mechanicus forces, but deeply detests the Arbities for some past greviances. Old Man Vince: A man nearing his seventies without cybernetic enhancements, Vince has joined the Redemptionists to find some meaning in his rapidly arriving demise. Forgoing the normal flamer, he uses solely a chain-sword in combat with brutal effectiveness despite his withered body. Many of the other Redemptionists think Vince is blessed by the Emperor, as even with his age and his haphazard fighting he has yet to suffer a lethal blow. Calian himself is rather fond of the old man, treating him with respect due an elder. Ariel "Rat Queen" Lissandra: The Rat Queen of the Redemptionists is a woman stricken with grief after losing her son to Scum-Rot when he was but a toddler. Driven by her grief to find a death that'd reunite her with her baby she joined the Redemptionists. During her time with them, she has adopted several giant rat like creatures who she found pups of in her missions into the underhive. Having bred a number of them, she treats them like her children and uses them like attack dogs to harass her enemies while she hacks at them with a mono-edged sword. Calian treats her with visible disdain for her association with these vile rat creatures, but she's faithful and stable enough to keep around, if only barely. Priest Gregori Davies: An ordained priest of the Redemptionists, Gregori holds a great power unlike his other fellows. When he speaks, he erupts hate and fury into the hearts of his allies as he harries them to go maul the enemies of the Emperor with rage unending. His speeches have roused hive-scum into a fighting force able to overwhelm small mutant communities in the underhives with heavy causalities for all sides involved. He laments the fact that his oration normally keeps him away from the front lines, instead preaching from the back to strengthen the faith of those he leads. Olivia "Lady" Cardith: A Noblewoman who ran off to join the Redemptionists to spite her parents, Olivia has lived her adult life with the ruffians of the Redemptionist, keeping her noble sensibilities if only to mock her past and her parents. The best equipped out of the lot of them, she wields an expensive looking hand cannon to pierce hard targets from a further range than what a flamer would allow, moving as though she was dancing upon the battlefield, a tactic she's found to confuse the simple minded mutants, and horrific heretics of the depths of the underhive. Calian sees her as useful thanks to her political connections, but disproves of how she handles combat with dancing and gunfire. He's waiting for the day she gets domed by some random arms fire, and is surprised it hasn't happened yet. Extraordinary Equipment: Chain Hammer's Entry in the Redemptionist's Records: Few but massive brutes can lift this weapon, let along use it in combat. It combines the heavy striking power of a great hammer with the terrible ripping action of a Chain Weapon, using multiple rows of spinning metal teeth projecting from the club-like head to tear apart flesh pulped in the smashing impact. This is a two-handed melee weapon. Used by Gristle Tox Spray's Entry in the Redemptionist's Records - The tox spray is a terrifying weapon found in the hands of the worst kind of gang scum in the most polluted hive sumps. The weapon uses an unholy mixture of highly corrosive industrial residue and toxic waste contained under high pressure, unleashed through a jury-rigged spray gun. The effects of the mixture on flesh are truly horrific and all but the best armour is little protection from the burning poison. Wielded by Leroy "Bile". Eviscerator's Entry in the Redemptionist's Records - Favoured by Ecclesiarchy zealots and witch-hunters, the eviscerator is a grotesquely large double-handed chainsword. Although unwieldy and difficult to use, the eviscerator is capable of cutting an armoured man in half or ripping through the hide of the most hideously corrupted mutant with a single bloody stroke. A fair number of eviscerators can be found in the lawless frontier of the Koronus Expanse, brought through the Maw by missionaries and fanatics whose zeal exceeded their martial skill. An eviscerator is a two-handed weapon. Wielded by Davian F. Calian "Royal" Judge Slayer Handcannon: A much more stable variant of the dreaded Judge Slayer Hand-Cannon, this handgun is obtusely sized with matching overloaded ammunition, able to punch holes through even the Adeptus Arbite's thick armor or through the hide of some horrific mutant. Wielded by Lady Cardith. Armageddon Pattern Auto-Gun: A heavy Auto-Gun claimed from a mutant, this is Mark-Oh's personal weapon. He has fine tuned his aim with the weapon, learning its quirks and oddities. He is exceptionally protective of the gun, not even letting Leon work on it. Basic Equipment: Shield Robes: Red variations of the Shield Robes found in use by both Sisters of battle, and more militant members of the Church. Auto-Pistols: A backup weapon for when either the enemy has left you broken, or all other arms fail. Chainsword: Rather run of the mill Chain-Swords are standard issue among the Redemptionist Forces. Why Were They Selected: They were selected for this duty as by and far, they were the most well rounded force the Redemptionists could muster from their fanatic, but untrained forces. Lucian Vile hopes to win some form of favor with the Inquisitor, aiming to please the inquisition and spread his crusades further. Relationships - With Inquisitor Hera: An Inquisitor of the Emperor's most holy Inquisition. To die for them, perhaps maybe the purest Redemption. - With the Adeptus Arbites: They follow the laws, but do they truly seek redemption? They hide behind heavy armor and overwhelming force, and their cowardice has allowed corruption to claim Hive VI. Let us hope they purge better than they protect. - With the Adepta Sororitas: Blessed Sisters in arms! We hope to live long enough to witness their glorious fury for ourselves, and pray we could generate even a comparative drop of their unending faith and rage! - With the Adeptus Tempestus: While the Guard may fear the Tempestus, we welcome them for by the time a bolt pistol would be leveled towards the skull of any Redemptionist, the Commisar would find the welcome shock that the man he'd try to execute had already charged the enemy and died gloriously, for the Emperor, for redemption. Those of the Storm Troopers we will be honored to stand before, and die for, so that as their rifles tear us asunder, the enemies of the Imperium are ground to mulch by the cross fire. - With the Assassins: Cowards who hide from Redemption to eliminate the enemies of the Imperium from the Shadows. Cowards, but very dangerous Cowards. We will spare them the sermons for they'd slink into the shadows as we spoke. - With the Astra Militarum: The Soldiers of the Emperor, those who die in the millions to protect us all. Blessed are they, for they are redeemed with record number, and they lay waste to all the Imperium reviles. - With the Skitarii: We find their faith in this Omni...plyer rather disturbing but we know that in death they will feel the Emperor's Judgement. We just try to steer clear of them, lest our ears be beset by their foul heresies, and our tempers overflow with the Emperor's Fury.
