I've a few concerns. Twenty yard radius seems a bit excessive for an area of effect, especially for a [i]student,[/i] I'd suggest cutting that by half. And Crimson Bonds seems to me like it should be a bit more restricted than it seems. Personally I'd suggest explicitly saying that it requires Mathew to maintain eye contact.

Aside from those complaints, seems okay.
