[INDENT][B][SUP][SUB][color=orange][H3]C H A R A C T E R   M O T I V A T I O N S   &   G O A L S:[/H3][/color][/SUB][/SUP][/B][/INDENT][hr][INDENT][INDENT][i]The appeal in Aquaman for me lies in the versatility, so I think the goal here with a ‘year zero’ approach is to retract back to the Golden Age and return to the Arthur Curry version of the character rather than revisiting Orin of Atlantis. There’s more whimsy and charisma with the former and I know it’s probably expected as its “in style” right now in the shadow of the Aquaman feature film, but I don’t exactly want to re-write that movie here.

I would like to find a happy medium between the two.

Being that it is the beginning of Arthur’s career as a superhero, I want to dial away from the King of Atlantis stuff for the time being. I want to focus more on the beginnings of his rogues gallery. Pirates, eco-terrorists, pillagers, and the like. I want the biggest threat for Aquaman to be sea monsters and natural disasters rather than undersea politics. Orm, Mera, Tula, and others will slowly become revealed as I try to look at Aquaman in a slightly different direction. Hopefully, it'll stick.[/i][/indent][/indent]
