I don't know how big of a turn-out I will have in interest; ideally this will be a big group. If not, I am willing to roleplay with a small group of at least five. There will be a small, background plot that can be utilized by the cast members but does not have to be. For the most part, this is character-driven and so players are to be expected to come up with their own plots. I will be setting up events for characters to react to, so players won't be totally stranded without direction. The players' choices will affect the state of the world!

[sup]
PREMISE  PREMISE
[/sup]

Descension is a Slice of Life roleplay that follows the adventures of gods living amongst humans. After long years reigning, a special human had enough of the arrogant gods meddling in human affairs. The human created the Colossus, a stone pillar with inscriptions in ancient languages that ties the gods to a certain area and restricts their powers (though it does not completely erase them). In 2015, the Colossus was bought by a private investor and brought to their million dollar apartment in Seattle, Washington. The past five years have been spent with the gods settling into their new lives in Seattle. It is now 2020 and, for the first time in eighty-one years, the gods are summoned for a Conclave.

[sup]
PROLOGUE  PROLOGUE
[/sup]

The Gods were volatile. Storms raged and diseases spread; the world was ravaged with misfortune. Some of the Gods had mortals’ best interest in mind, and even more didn’t, but the end result was the same: earth became a battleground for the divine. One mortal rose against the Gods in an act to save Man, binding them to a stone pillar that he inscribed with ancient spells in the year of 350 AD. The stone became known as the Colossus, the bane of the Gods. None of the pantheons were spared the imprisonment of the Colossus. They became tethered to Earth, stuck away from their domains and forced to live the life of a human. Their powers were restricted and they were trapped within the radius of the Colossus. When one God attempted to escape the Colossus, his powers slowly bled away as well as his immortality and his life drained away until he was nothing but a husk of a corpse. In the beginning, the Gods were shunned by Man, the blight of earth unforgotten. Soon, though, the Gods faded into myth and humans became ignorant of their true nature. Humans took interest in the Colossus, taking it from its resting place in Istanbul. Every couple of years, the Gods were forced to relocate as the Colossus fell into the possession of museums and private collectors. While it was painful, starting anew every so often, it gave the Gods an excuse to create a new identity in a new city. The Gods had been stationed in Washington D.C, the Colossus located in a Smithsonian research center, until it mysteriously went missing. A private collector must have paid to have the Colossus stolen; the only problem is that the Gods don’t know who this private collector is or where the Colossus has gone. Their power manifested in Seattle and so they all migrated there; they’ve been in Seattle for five years, since 2015.

[sup]
METHOD  METHOD
[/sup]

Two weeks in advance, I will announce the next GM post with which I will move on with the scene. It is the players' responsibility to finish up their scenes by then. If they do not finish their scenes, there will be no penalty, but it is highly suggested to complete the scene in order to not fall behind. If you happen to not finish your scene, it is suggested to either make a long post finishing the scene + reacting to the new scene OR utilize flashbacks. This is to keep the flow of the RP. If someone makes it a habit of falling behind the GM posts to the point it is harmful to another players' planned productivity, I will step in. This is all about fun so please do not hold back another player!

[sup]
CHARACTERS  CHARACTERS
[/sup]

⤞ This is a SoL RP and, as such, I ask for real face claims. ⤞ There is no age restrictions for characters except like...don't make a baby or something weird like that. ⤞ There will be NO WHITEWASHING. Try to keep the ethnicity as close as possible. If it is hard to find a face claim of that ethnicity, try to get as close as possible. This is like using an East Asian face claim for a Chinese God, a black face claim for an African God, etc etc.

[sup]
RULES  RULES
[/sup]

⤞ The ole song and dance with godmodding etc etc. ⤞ Keep your drama to yourself. ⤞ No whitewashing. If you are unsure if it is whitewashing, ask the group! ⤞ TALK TO ME IF YOU HAVE A PROBLEM OR NEED HELP. I am here to ensure you have fun, so please tell me if you are not having fun due to any reason. ⤞ Posting requirements is around two paragraphs, but quality over quantity.
