[indent][indent][quote]Peles initial reaction to being made earthbound was fury and anger. The goddess had never expected that she would leave Hawaii. It was her world. When she’d created the islands she’d kind of figured that she'd just stay there for eternity. Afterall, who in their right mind would go anywhere else - it was paradise! And to have lost her power, her strength. That was worst of all. She felt weak and helpless without them - it was pathetic for a goddess of destruction to not be able to wreak havoc, to be reduced to little more than a mortal.

But alas, she had no choice, and was forced to move along with the Colossus. Pele sulked for the first few years, refusing to intergrate with the humans. But it was not in her nature to remain alone, having spent much of her time as a goddess amongst her people. So, eventually she began to spend more time in their world, and surprisingly, found herself relishing in it. Whilst some of the other gods used their time productively, Pele spent many a decade just having fun - dancing, partying, experiencing. Each new city brought something different, and at least for a while, she could forget that she still mourned for her loss of power and strength. Yet she also experienced something she never had before. Loneliness. This was a new and rather unwanted feeling, one that she was entirely uncomfortable with.  Sure, there were endless humans to play with but she did not age, and so she found herself forever moving on. Forever at the junction of immortality and isolation.

Regardless, Pele progressed in this fashion for a long time. Until Seattle that is. Pele [i]did not[/i] like Seattle. It was cold, rainy, and had no volcanos (of course this wasn’t exclusive to Seattle but still - no volcanoes!?). Restless & grumpy, she was  forced to focus her attention elsewhere. Pele became intensely interested in cars, finding their power and speed thrilling. She began working on fixing them up, eventually starting a job at a small but tight-knit workshop in downtown Seattle. It is through this that she was introduced to the worlds of drag and street racing. This suited Pele down to the tee, the goddess finding herself thriving in the competitive and lively sports. True to form, street racing has landed her in trouble with the law on more than one occasion and she has become notorious in the city for her reckless driving. 

At present, she has mixed feelings about her current life. Although she enjoys it, as each year passes, she becomes increasingly concerned that maybe she will never get to go back to Hawaii. Maybe they will be stuck in this cycle for eternity... Pele tries not to ponder on this too much but she would likely jump at any opportunity to get it all back, if one was presented to her.

[sub]The friendship between Pele and The Morrigan was an unlikely one. And a new one at that. Maybe their paths would have been unlikely to cross if she hadn't decided to choose 'Ralphs workshop' but Pele is glad that she did. 

The Morrigan must have the jankiest car in the history of automobiles, Pele having lost count of how many times she's had to bring it into the shop. At first, she simply treated her like any other customer, but eventually the two got to talking and she found herself enjoying the company of the goddess. The two sometimes go to Imentets after she has fixed up her car, for tea and a chat. She has also dragged her to a couple of Drag Races and although The Morrigan absolutely refuses to get into the car with her, she is more than willing to cheer her on, which Pele appreciates wholeheartedly. She was like a welcome fresh of air, her effortless & easy demeanour balancing out the intensity that Pele sometimes exudes. Of course Ben is part of the infamous 'frat bois' but Pele generally tries her best to steer away from that, finding some of their members somewhat overbearing. When the two hook up, it's guaranteed to be fun, and Pele always goes away feeling happier than she did before. He was neither good or evil, although capable of both, but would always be at the centre of things, tilting events chaotically in one direction or another. Hermes was the fastest olympian and used to travelling on a whim. Nowhere was inaccessible to him, be it Mount Olympus, the mortal plane, or the underworld. Suddenly being trapped on earth was, therefore, a huge shift for the god. It was not in Hermes' nature to rage and throw a tantrum, even though he may have felt just as put out as the others. Yet to be tricked by a human, even though there was a certain humour to it, was also terribly embarrassing. Luckily for Hermes, mortals were not a foreign concept to him and he was quickly able to become at ease in their world. He enjoyed their penchant for frivolities and found himself participating in some of the more sinful aspects in life. Drinking, gambling, amassing many a lover...Hermes tried it all. But whilst all of these were amusing for a time, they were not enough to occupy his sharp mind and eventually, his focus strayed to other pursuits.

Hermes has since spent many a decade meddling in the affairs of humans. He could often be found at the ear of high-powered individuals, including CEOs, politicians and even royalty. Often his schemes bore little effect on the world, but he has on occasion impacted events on a greater scale. He has had an influence on wars, politics, friendships, marriages...just to name a few. Of course Hermes also still tries to play tricks on the other gods but with so many humans to meddle with, he often finds his attentions focused elsewhere. 

Whilst as a god, Hermes had no particular preference towards good or evil, centuries on earth has begun to tilt his moral compass. In the 1920's he began working as a con-artist, using his wit to cheat wealth from others (interestingly he only steals from those who he feels deserve some form of retribution). Unsurprisingly, he quickly became rather proficient at this and has since been able to amass a significant amount of money. Most recently he has become a partner of a casino in downtown Seattle, known as 'The Zenith'. Whether this is part of a long-con or not, is currently unclear. 

In addition to his more...mischievous activities, Hermes has spent the centuries developing his athletic prowess. As the fastest olympian and the patron of athletes, Hermes was no stranger to sports, however participating in them was another matter entirely and he [i]loved[/i] it. Name a sport and he has probably at least dabbled in it. Most recently he has taken up boxing and can be often found spending much of his downtime at the ring. Hermes has also recently purchased two very adorable puppies because, well, why not? He named one Ares (because it was very bitey) and one Zeus (because it kept trying to hump the other).

[sub]Hermes doesn't really have anything bad to say about Lalli Pad. She's great. A total gem. 

She owns a strip club for starters, which is awesome, and has been the source of many eventful evenings with the boys (& girls). And there was also that time she helped him with one of his cons. He doesn't often ask for the help of the other gods, mainly cause he's concerned they will mess things up, so it says a lot that he trusted her. It was also a complicated con and lasted far longer than he had expected. The two consequently got pretty close during it, so he likes to think that they're friends now. Sure they don't hang out much outside of the strip club ([s]even though Hermes secretly wishes they would[/s]), but they're [I]definitely[/I] still good pals.

Sometimes she seems kind of mad at him for some reason but Hermes doesn't worry about this too much - he always manages to get her to crack a smile in the end. Of course, she's also pretty hot, so he can't help but still flirt with her [i]a little[/i]. [/sub][/quote][/indent][/indent][/indent]

[sub]Perhaps some would find it unusual that the two have become close but for Hermes it was, surprisingly, born out of concern. The coma, the loss of memories...Hermes found himself instinctively drawn to wanting to look out for her. Of course, he knew she was more than capable of looking after herself (she was the former queen of the underworld after all), but there wasn't any harm in visiting her shops every so often. [sub]Nope, no harm at all.[/sub] It also explains why, whichever lodging he chooses to reside in, is usually filled with far too many bouquets of flowers and potted plants. Of course, these are always on the verge of dying but he doesn't want to let Kore know that he's killed her precious babies. 

He definitely has a soft spot for the goddess of spring, finding her cheerful and optimistic outlook on life refreshing to be around. She never said no to his adventures, even if they were a little ridiculous at times. She really is just a sweet little bundle of adorableness, and loathe anyone that hurts her feelings. Of course, it wouldn't be Hermes if he didn't tease her a little [s]a lot[/s], or tried to teach her some of the more [I]flavourful[/I] curse words. He also finds it extremely difficult not to spill the beans about her loss of memories but, not wanting to cause her any distress, has so far managed to keep shut.[/sub]

[sub]Hypnos really is the opposite of Hermes in many ways. He exudes an aura of calm, likes to sleep a lot and never seems to cause any mischief. Hermes fights against sleep even now, seeing every hour in slumber as a wasted one, however he cannot deny that he finds solace in those moments when the god of sleep has sent him into the realm of unconsciousness. It reminds him of those times that the two worked in a sort of seamless synergy, one sending mortals into slumber, the other delivering dreams. His presence is surprisingly, an extremely comforting one and his hugs are probably the softest of all the gods. Really, the guy is just like a walking talking teddy bear.   

Maybe their paths wouldn't have otherwise crossed much whilst on earth, but their shared friendship with Kore has provided ample opportunity for them to interact. Hermes has since made it his personal mission to make Hypnos socialise more (falling asleep at the bar doesn't count!), and is more than willing to enlist the bros in this grand scheme of his.

Whatever stupid nickname Hermes gives the guy, he can't deny that he was basically born to be a frat boy. The guy knows how to party (perhaps only second to Dio) and he's always up for anything, even including some of the trickster gods more mischievous ideas. He has an energy that Hermes finds himself drawn to and whenever he wants to do something fun, Hercs the guy he turns to. The two also spot for each other at the gym, their shared patronage of athletes/sports driving them both to the more [I]physical[/I] pursuits. It's also a damn fine opportunity to sneak the odd [i]several dozen[/I] glances at that instagram famous bod. 

Sure, Herc isn't always the brightest bulb in the box, and Hermes is sometimes unable to resist the temptation to prank him. It's just so easy, and he's equally as surprised everytime. He'd never do anything more than harmless tomfoolery though.

Whether it's the secret to gambling, or how to conduct a successful con (the Attica islands was one of his favourites to date), the young goddess is always up for a bit of mischief and he can't help but love that.

As a god, Hermes would've said that he was fairly close to the guy. Maybe not in a loving, intimate way, but he did loads of stuff for him - delivered messages, interfered in the lives of the other gods, tricked, schemed. Sure it was annoying sometimes but he enjoyed the chaos, and usually went willingly along with it. However, his time on earth has made him realise just how bossy his old man was. And although he's restricted by the Colossus now, over the centuries he has appreciated being able to do what he wants, when he wants. 

Zeus has recently been trying to reconcile his relationships with his children, and although Hermes is wary, he is more willing than some of the others to at least give him a chance. To be honest it's pretty funny watching him try, particularly because some of his attempts end up being more comical than successful. 

Mostly Hermes likes to poke fun at his father & play the odd prank, but maybe one day they'll be able to develop their relationship further. Maybe.

[sub]Ares is well, Ares. Hermes knows that he likes to fight and er...probably do other stuff as well (does being grumpy count as a hobby? But yeah, he has always found himself struggling to understand the war god; his serious & volatile nature being the antithesis of everything that Hermes stands for. He is also sometimes reminded of his time as a psychopomp, when he was able to see the impact that war left on the deceased. Sure he didn't take his job all that seriously and he may have sometimes played the odd prank on the spirits (they were laughing [I]together[/I]), but the after effects of war still left an impression on him.

Despite the fact that Ares always seems on the edge of throwing him out of the nearest window, Hermes is unable to help himself when it comes to being mischievous around him. Whether it's playing a prank, endlessly teasing him, or trying to get him to lose some money gambling...Hermes just can't resist messing with the other god. His reactions are priceless after all.

If Hebe were honest, before The Colossus she'd never really considered what it would be like to leave Mount Olympus. Her life had been one of duty and diligence. She did as her parents asked and although it was fun to hear stories from her siblings, she figured that it wasn't her place to do anything but the role she'd been allotted. Yet, this was all thrown into complete disarray when they were made earthbound and for the first few decades, Hebe tried to simply keep out of the way, shocked by the actions of the mortals. Sticking to the familiar presence of her parents was comforting and safe, but even she eventually began to get bored. [i]Very bored.[/i] She saw the younger mortals beginning to strive for their own freedom and the goddess figured that if they could do it, so could she. Making moves to strike out on her own, at first she would bounce quickly back to her family, scared to be alone for too long. However eventually she began to spend more and more time apart from them.

For the last century, Hebe has rarely been seen by the other gods. With the advent of women's rights, came a new and improved goddess. She had changed; a far call from the girl who was once content with simply being the cupbearer for the greek pantheon. The following decades (apart from those with the wars...Hebe hated those) were great...the roaring twenties, the free-loving sixties, the eclectic eighties. She loved it all. As the personification of youth, Hebe liked to partake in anything that encouraged this. Whether it be attending a fun party, dragging her friends on some impromptu adventure, breaking rules just for the sake of it... Hebe enjoyed exploring all that being young had to offer and she encouraged mortals to do the same. 

When they were forced to move to Washington DC, Hebe decided to attend Georgetown University and as was par for the course, joined a sorority. It was soon after, at one particularly lively frat party, that she met Kyle. Sure he was a bit up himself but he was funny & nice & well...there. The two instantly hit it off and Hebe (somewhat naively) thought she was in love. She hadn't experienced love before but she was pretty certain that's what it was...sort of. Regardless, the two spent all of their time together. She even met his parents (unsurprisingly she did not introduce him to [i]hers[/I]) and practically lived in his dorm. For several months they were happy and Hebe even began to consider telling him the truth of her immortality.

However Kyle was under a lot of pressure from his parents to perform well at school...his appetite for parties and stupidity being reflected in his poor grades. Frustrated, he began to take it out on Hebe. He always seemed to be angry at her for something, and though she tried her best to console him, nothing worked. He made her feel guilty and she didn't dare leave him, choosing instead to put up with his foul temper. Hebe soon sunk into something akin to depression, barely attending her classes and isolating herself from her friends. She daren't reach out to the other gods for help, scared they would laugh at her for being afraid of a mortal. And she probably would've put up with this for a long time...if it weren't for that night. As had become habit, Kyle came home drunk. It was practically a daily ritual but Hebe simply ignored him the best she could. However, on this particular night he tried to force himself upon her despite her protests. Horrified...terrified, Hebe managed to get away, but it left behind a shadow that she could never forget.[/hider]

Luckily for her, The Colossus moved a few weeks after and she was able to run away to the safety of Seattle. It took her a couple of years, but Hebe was eventually able to find her feet again. She signed up for a course in Anthropology at the University and even dared to join a sorority once more (Alpha Delta Pi to be specific). Although she will never forget what happened, she has managed to settle in well and has a good group of friends. She still keeps her distance from the other gods, barely having seen any of them since the move.

[sub]Hebe was always intrigued by the demi-god that was Heracles. He was strong and brave and did whatever he wanted. Of course, as a hero, and with the completion of the Twelve Labours, Herc had easily drawn attention to himself...but it was more than that for Hebe and she genuinely found herself being attracted to him for the person he was. He was fun to be around and unlike many of the other gods, didn’t treat her like a mere servant. The two consequently became fairly close as gods, spending time together in those rare moments when Hera wasn't looking over Hebes shoulder.

Sadly, the two have grown apart since their fall. Hebe knows they have both changed over the centuries but she has still never been able to get him completely out of her head. There is a part of her that wants to get to know him again but her relationship with Chadwick has left her scared and confused. She also has extremely mixed feelings when it comes to anyone or anything associated with fraternities...whilst she's spent many decades being part of that world, she also wonders if all the guys are simply the same & will treat her no different than Chad did.

[sub] Hebe and Comus first bonded over their shared roles of Cupbearers whilst on Mount Olympus - from the moment they met they were fast friends & they have been close ever since. When they first fell, Coco was the one who really helped bring Hebe out of her shell. She was always there to give her that much needed nudge in the right direction and Hebe is eternally thankful for this. However during her relationship with Chadwick, the two began to grow distant. Hebe hated not being close to her but Chad, for whatever reason, took a disliking to the goddess and insisted that they shouldn't be friends. Of course, back then Hebe thought he was looking out for her, but now she realises it was something entirely different.

Hebe still thinks of Coco as her best friend. She'd do anything for her and she really does love her. They always have fun together; whether its giggling over something stupid, going on some wild adventure together, or just being an ear to talk to. Of course, Hebe hasn't been totally honest with Coco over recent years, which is something she feels terrible about and something she hopes she'll be brave enough to fix one day.

Ares was also one of the only people that she introduced to Chadwick. It was something she’d been nervous about doing but the two had gotten on surprisingly well, and for a while, she was happy. [sub]Hebe's decision to work for Janus had been an impromptu one and not something she had ever considered doing before. After all, a personal assistant seemed to parallel far too closely to her role on Mount Olympus. However, Hebe found that working for Janus wasn't anything like being bossed around by the Olympians. He genuinely seemed to take interest in her opinions & thoughts on matters, something which no-one else had ever done before. And whilst in recent years she has been shying away from the chaos that is the Greeks, she appreciates the stability that the Romans bring. (Of course, she hasn't told any of the Greeks that she's working for Janus. Because, well, they'd go batshit.)

She also can't deny that she does have a teeny tiny, itsy bitsy crush on her boss. It's completely harmless and mostly just consists of her getting flustered when he asks her help in picking out a new suit or tie. [/sub][/quote][/indent][/indent][/indent]
