This band of rebels and misfits advocates the freedom of exploration and aims to escape the shackles of society by casting off the burdensome laws that have been put in place, stealing a skyship, and wandering the stars as they please. They search for riches, knowledge, and others of a like-mind who wish to join them on their quest for true freedom.

Well hello there! Welcome to Moradin; the largest galaxy in the known universe. It is home to 129,305,398 discovered planets, over 900,000,000,000 stars, 239,404,309 moons, and an innumerable amount of intelligent life. There are dozens upon hundreds of species that call this corner home. Elves, humans, dwarves, tabaxi, you name it. If it exists, we’ve got it. The universe is young, vast, and we only know a small fraction of what there is. The folks up at the United Planets Science Academy say that there’s still billions of planets that we don’t even know exist yet. Exciting, isn’t it? Most in the universe are happy with things the way they are. There are no wars. Famine and pestilence are largely unheard of (except for in some of the newer colonies), and the common-folk are happy enough to just live out their lives in peace. What about all of the unexplored space, you might ask? Well, exploration vessels called skyships are expensive, and most are only owned by the navies of various governments. On occasion the rare civilian will gain a license to sail. Exploration is a dangerous business and the powers that be like to keep civilians out of it for the sake of safety- or at least that’s what they claim. The truth of the matter is that the governments like control. They want to hoard all of the ships so they can have control of what riches are uncovered, and keep the masses at bay by giving them just enough to stay content. You see, a thousand years ago everyone and their mother could own a skyship and explore the universe. There was a star struck wonder in every young person’s eye, and they all dreamed of feeling the solar winds on their face as they sailed off to uncharted territory. The stars were new and exciting, and we were meant to be among them. However with the exploration of our skies came the discoveries of new sources of power, building materials, gems, and every other sort of precious object. Exploration was no longer for the thrill of adventure. No, now it was for the money, and nothing can corrupt an adventurer’s heart like money. Skyships became more expensive, and slowly the common man became used to the idea of never being able to afford one. The governments took over the exploration of the galaxy, and with that sailing became a thing only the rich or the navy did. But wanderlust still calls to some hearts. Sometimes there is a person who is less fortunate. Sometimes there is someone who doesn’t have money or the means to acquire a ship, but their soul still longs to be among the stars. So what is one to do when they find themselves in this situation? That, my friend, is why we pirates exist. People were meant to be free to find themselves, but ever since the skyships were taken away it seems everyone is content to just stand around like a herd of sheep being directed by a shepherd. Go to school, get a job, get married, have children, grow old, die, cycle repeat. But that is not enough for us. The various governments would have you believe that we are bloodthirsty, greedy, pillaging monsters that reign the skies with a crown made of terror, but that simply isn’t true. At least not for all of us. Those of us who band under the flag of The Consortium have a code.
1: Advocate true freedom for all. 2: Never steal from another member of The Consortium. 3: Never kill unless it’s to protect you or your mate. 4: Never steal from those who need it more. 5: Give The Consortium 12% of the loot you gain. This helps us keep things up and running!
What do you gain from flying under this flag, you ask? Well, how about a team able to forge the most legal-looking of documents? A place to find a crew of people who want freedom, just like you? A place to find a ship (no money required)? A gateway to adventure and riches beyond anything your heart ever began to desire? If adventure calls to your heart, join The Consortium today and experience what true freedom feels like. The Summer's Escape. It's a tiny little dive that no one seems to know much about, but you know it happens to be the main base of operations for The Consortium. It has taken you many months of searching, questioning, and proving yourself to come by this information, but now you are finally here. The bartender is, of course, skeptical of any newcomers, but you know a passphrase that gets you access to the secret base beneath The Summer's Escape. "I come with all the freedom the moons and stars grant me." After entering the base, you are presented with a serious of tests and questions to prove your loyalty to The Consortium. It includes a practice mission, an interrogation done under the influence of a "Zone of Truth" spell, and finally a drinking contest to welcome you into the fold. After a while you are assigned to your new crew, and begin preparations to ship out. Of course not everyone has wanted to join The United Planets, and a few have outright opposed it, but over all most of the discovered planets have agreed to join and help to maintain the peace. Esari has eight planets, each with one or more moon, and a central star named Arasis that acts as the sun for this system. As one of the older ones to join UP (United Planets) it is extremely diverse. It's planets all have very different environments which make for a perfect climate in which different species can trade and co-exist, and the solar system thrives because of it. The central leader(s) of each planet form a committee which all decide the internal and political issues of the solar system.
The golden fields of Cirrane have been the subject of many poems. Comparing "thy love's golden locks" to the fields is a common cliche found in that arena, but even despite the cheesy one liners it is still a breathtaking spectacle for any who have never seen it before. Cirrane is mostly known for being a popular vacation destination in Esari due to it's temperate climate, hot springs, and beautiful scenery. The planet has two moons: Graphmir and Farmir. The people of Cirrane are known for being very hospitable and polite, if not somewhat artificial. Generations of catering to tourists has made them masters of hiding their true emotions. The political scene in Cirrane is much like the climate- pleasant and peaceful (and somewhat artificial). It is one of the few planets in the galaxy that still has a functioning monarchy. The Lirion Royal Family has served the people of Cirrane for over twenty generations. When factoring in their Elven lifespans that amounts to roughly 10,000 years of collective service to their people, making them the oldest monarchy in existence.

This planet has a very rare gravitational anomaly that exists on only three planets in the entire known galaxy. This causes the planet's "surface" to actually float, and thus the floating islands of Iyananor came to be. They are a unique and fantastic sight to see. Almost as fantastic is the architecture the inhabitants invented to adapt to the landscape. Vertical cities, floating bridges, and specially balanced cities dot the surface of these islands making it an unmatched feat of engineering and architecture. Iyananor is a massive hub for trade and is also the site of several universities, including The United Planets Science Academy. The government is run by a committee of representatives from five different business factions and rotates on a bi-yearly basis.

Due to the harsh environments, there are very select number of species that wish to live on this desert planet. Among them are tiefling, dragonborn, humans, kobold, tabaxi, and yuan-ti which can exist on the surface, and then drow and some other under-dark dwelling creatures below the surface. It is mainly a mining planet with a plethora of precious metals and gems found deep in it's underbelly, and most of the people who live here do it for the work. It is not uncommon for some of the workers to have illnesses associated with the materials they are mining. The leader of this government is the Lirion family, who reside on the nearby planet of Cirrane.

Venzon, despite being one of the smaller planets in Esari, is the capital planet of this system. It is here that the leaders of the other planets all come together to form their committees and make decisions that effect the solar system as a whole. The representative of this committee will then take it to the Grand Committee that makes the decisions for the entire galaxy. The planet itself is a beautiful jewel with dazzling seas and dense forest. Unlike some of the other planets it has four distinctive seasons in any given solar year, and as such has a much wider range of foliage that can grow on it. Most of the inhabitants of this capital planet are the wealthy and those who work for them.

Orilon is a farming planet. The mineral rich soil has unique properties that cause all of it's native flora to be a vibrant red color, and it's valleys are filled with various types of plants. Meanwhile it's mountains are always tipped with snow. The weather on this planet always lends towards the colder side, so not all types of vegetables enjoy it, but the ones that prefer this environment flourish and produce massive amounts of food. This has made it the source of over 75% of the solar systems's produce. The other 25% comes mostly from Shyllshara. As far as the culture and political scene go, the people of Orilon are rather private and keep to themselves. There are many different clans of farmers on the planet and none of them are particularly eager to leave, save for the occasional rebellious member. The president is one Iona Ceril. She has been the elected leader for five (four year) terms in a row, and as is part of the culture, the people don't seem eager to change this arrangement.

Like Orilon, Shyllshara is a farming planet. Because of it's warmer climate, they farm the vegetables and plants that Orilon is not hospitable towards. However it's largest source of trade is archaeology and the study of historical artifacts. The surface of the planet is dappled with ancient ruins that continue deep underground. Despite hundreds of years of digging and researching, there are still massive portions of the ruins that have not been uncovered. Evidence suggests that these ruins are all part of some massive structure built throughout the entire planet, but because of cave ins and the general danger involved in the exploration of these sites, there is still much we do not know. Besides being covered with ancient ruins, there is also a beautiful array of plantlife- all of which are bio-luminescent. At night one can still see their way through the lush jungles thanks to the dazzling pink, red, blue, and purple glow that plants commonly give off. It is quite a sight to see should one stick around long enough to enjoy it. The planet is part of same government as Orilon, and as such is also run by President Iona Ceril.

This small dwarf planet has been the source of scientific argument for many decades. Some say it should simply be called a moon given it's close proximity to Solaris, however it does not actually orbit around the planet and therefore some argue does not classify as a moon. Take that as you will. However you decide to classify this celestial body, it is mostly known for it's unending winter. Due to this very few species actually choose to live on it. It is mainly used as a place for warehouses and building platforms for ships and weapons. A number of military bases are on it as well. Given that the planet is basically a massive storehouse, it does not actually have any one governing ruler, and is instead controlled by the Galaxy Committee as a whole.

This planet's surface is entirely covered by an ocean, and at first appears completely lifeless. But you might be surprised. Underneath the waves contains a whole new world that is teeming with life- be it plant, animal, or humanoid. Here reside the underwater cities of merfolk, triton, and some types of genasi and dryads. Some parts of certain cities have been made to be hospitable to land-dwelling humanoids, and if one were to cast a spell of water breathing they would of course have access to everything there is to see. The merfolk and species related to water have unique healing abilities and so many come to them in search of medicine. There's a saying in the galaxy: "If the elves can't fix you, go to the Mers'. If the Mers' can't fix you, go to the morgue." Solaris is a largely religious planet, hailing the goddess Melora as their deity of choice, and as such is run by a group of her high priests and priestesses from each of the main species on this planet.

There are so many tales and myths about the gods that to try and list them all would be futile. Stories and beliefs vary throughout the galaxy, and often times what is taught in one sector will differ from what is taught in another, but there is one story that stands alone before them all and is told on every world the same way. It is said that before the universe was created all of the gods were in an endless war, and had been locked in conflict for an expanse of time that is unfathomable to any mortal. It is unknown why they were warring with each other, but a common theory is that it was for supreme power over the realms. All of the realms were in horrible chaos, and the war had intensified to a point where no matter who won, there wouldn't truly be any victor. The losses were too tragic for the victory to ever be worth it. It is said that there were entire realms that were destroyed by this war and lost to time. Finally, a tentative truce was struck between the gods. As a symbol of this peace they created a galaxy- the galaxy where we live. It was named after one of the fallen gods and meant to stand as a testament to what the gods could accomplish when they worked together, and as it prospered, so would peace in the realms. And so it was. For many centuries the gods existed in total peace with one another, until one day the peace was broken. It isn't known what happened, but the story goes that this somehow led to Corellon creating the elves. There was never another Great War of the gods, but to this day relations between certain different religions remain strained.
Asmodeus, god of tyranny. Discussions and things you're confused about? Sure! Bring it up with us in the OOC or a DM. I don't mind talking about things with you, but if I give you a final answer then take the hint and drop the subject. Don't try to run the rp. If you have an idea you want to do, you can bring it up OOC and we'll discuss it. I don't mind players having subplots, but we need to be sure that they don't interfere with the main plot and that people aren't running away with things. No overly disagreeable/evil characters. We've all seen that one person in an rp who wants their character to be the center of attention at all times, and as a result end up causing a lot of drama in the rp. Don't be that person. If you try to be that person, you will be laughed at and banned from the rp. No NSFW content. If you and another player engage in writing NSFW content, take it to DMs. I don't want it in my rp. Be aware that the GM has a very low tolerance for nonsense. I've had many people ruin my carefully thought out plots several times with their stupidity, so while I will do my best to be nice, if you cause any trouble I will not be fun to deal with. Posting requirements Your posts don't have to be big paragraphs, just decent sized ones to show you're willing to put in effort to keep the rp going, even if it's slow. Maybe two paragraphs. I would like to keep the frequency to at least one person posting per week. We're pretty laid back here, so if you need a little extra time due to circumstances, no worries. That being said, if you're looking for a fast paced rp where we all post back-to-back on a daily basis, this probably isn't what you're looking for.
