Whether they be trainers, breeders, coordinators, rangers, or something else, pokemon affect everyone in some way! You find yourself in Hearthome city, attracted to the spectacle of the Epic Gala, a inter-regional wide celebration that includes countless ways to show off how strong their bonds with pokemon are! Unbeknownst to the public, a secret organization has been operating underneath the people of Sinnoh nose’s. Their motives are only known to them, and they haven’t emerged from the shadows yet, but they plan to strike soon. However, this is not of your concern. The Epic Gala has tournaments, contests, and events for all to enjoy! Welcome to Sinnoh!

Don’t be a jerk- Self explanatory. This means OOC and IC. You can have a jerk of a character IC, but don’t be surprised if no one wants to interact with your character. No excuse for being a jerk OOC. Anything I (jeroukoo) or Vampiretwilight says goes. We won’t be jerks about it, we promise. We are also human, so we will make mistakes! Criticism for our actions is allowed and asking explanations for why things happen is ok as well. But unless we say otherwise, please respect our decisions. There is no one “main character”- This RP will not revolve just your character, there will (hopefully) be other characters that are involved, so don’t Gary or Mary Sue. Kinda falls under don;t be a jerk. Make fights reasonable and fair- If you have a level 1 Sunkern and are fighting a level 50 Tyranitar, chances are you won’t win. Unless you have explicit permission from the person you are battling, or events happen in IC to where it would make sense where you would win, make sure battles make sense. If it is an even fight, someone has to lose eventually. If you two can’t decide who will win in character, you can use pokemon showdown, the rules of which I will describe later.

Rookie Trainers Pokemon Trainers whose interactions with Pokemon revolve around battling. These trainers have just started their Pokemon journey and are looking to prove themselves. They have no badges. Experienced Trainers Pokemon Trainers whose interactions with Pokemon revolve around battling. These trainers have had their fair share of battles and even have gotten a few badges. Have anywhere from 1 to 4 badges. Pokemon Breeders Pokemon Trainers whose interactions with Pokemon revolve around caring for them and breeding them. Their purposes could be to sell rare Pokemon for battle, provide new trainers with Pokemon, or various other causes. Pokemon Coordinators Pokemon Trainers whose interactions with Pokemon revolve around entering them in contests. Entries should be no higher than Super Rank Trainers.

Background
If you don’t know what to put here, just make sure you cover the following: Where is your trainer from? Which town? Are they from another region? Why are they in Hearthome City? Did they want to participate or watch the Epic Gala? Are they just passing through? How long have they been a pokemon trainer/coordinator/ranger/etc? Are they a rookie who just got their licenses? A child prodigy? An older person who just started their profession?
Goals
What do they want to do? More specifically, what do you want to do with this character in this roleplay? This could simply be something along the lines of becoming a pokemon master or filling out a pokedex, or something more complicated, such as hunting down a specific legendary pokemon.

No legendaries If you need a reference list, here is one: https://bulbapedia.bulbagarden.net/wiki/Legendary_Pok%C3%A9mon Additional restrictions include Arceus, Genesect, Marshadow, Melmetal, and Meltan. These restrictions are subject to change! I may be forgetting things. Please no excessively cheesy competitive strategies Looking at you level 1 Aron with shellbell. Most things should be ok, and if you're DYING to have a F.E.A.R Rattata, ask me or Twilightvampire first in a PM first. No “Lance’s Dragonite” In other words, don’t have a pokemon be in a higher evolved form if they can’t do so by level. For example, you can’t have a level 35 Blastoise, because Wartortle evolves at level 36. You can have a level 35 Squirtle, however. No Illegal Moves or Abilities Self explanatory. If your pokemon doesn’t learn the move or get the ability, they can’t have it. The only restriction is moves by level up. For example, a level 15 squirtle can’t know shell smash, because it learns it at level 27 and shell smash is not a TM or taught by a move tutor. Otherwise, if it learns it via egg moves, a special event, move tutor or TM its ok to use. If you don’t know for sure, you can always check online at bulbapedia. A pokemon can know up to 8 moves. Only a max of 6 pokemon on your person at once For whatever reason, this is and always has been the limit. We will abide by this. Any nature is ok, but roleplay it! If you want to have a specific pokemon nature, that’s ok. But if you’re running an Jolly nature Salamence just for the stat boosts, try to extend that by roleplaying your Salamence as a Jolly pokemon.
Depending on your what type of character you play, the levels at which your pokemon can be will differ.
If you are an experienced trainer, and you don’t want to get too complicated, make a team of 6 pokemon with levels 36, 35, 34, 33, 32, 31. If you want to get complicated, the rules are in this hider:
You can have up to 6 pokemon with a base level of 30, and can distribute 21 levels amongst them, without going over 36. For example, if you want one pokemon to be level 36, you would have 15 levels left over to give to your other five pokemon. You do not have to use all the levels and your pokemon can be lower level than 30.
If you are a rookie trainer, and you don’t want to get too complicated, make a team of 3 pokemon with levels 15, 13, and 11. If you want to get complicated, the rules are in this hider.
You can have up to 3 pokemon with a base level of 10, and can distribute 9 levels amongst them, without going over 15. For example, if you want one pokemon to be level 15, you would have 4 levels left over to give to your other two pokemon. You do not have to use all the levels and your pokemon can be lower level than 10.
If you are a breeder, choose between a rookie or experienced trainer level. You have the additional following restrictions and options:
Pokemon Eggs You can carry any amount of pokemon eggs, as long as you don't go over the limit of 6 pokemon in your party. Pokemon Application Exemption If you are a breeder, you do not need to have a pokemon application for the pokemon that are not on your team. Pokemon Levels If you don't want to get complicated, follow these guidelines: If you are an experienced trainer and a breeder you can have up to four pokemon whose levels are 34, 33, 32, and 31, and any amount of pokemon whose levels are 5 and below. The pokemon below level 5 can only know 4 moves and can only use 2 in battle (see rules for battling.) If you are a rookie trainer and a breeder you can have up to two pokemon whose levels are 13, and any amount of pokemon whose levels are 5 and below. The pokemon below level 5 can only know 4 moves, and can only use 2 in battle (see rules for battling.) If you wanna get complicated, follow these guidelines:
You can have up to 4 pokemon with a base level of 28, and can distribute 18 levels amongst them, without going over 36. If you are a rookie trainer and a coordinator you can have up to two pokemon whose levels are 14 or lower. If you wanna get complicated, follow these guidelines:
You can have up to 4 pokemon with a base level of 30, and can distribute 12 levels amongst them, without going over 36. For example, if you want one pokemon to be level 36, you would have 6 levels left over to give to your other three pokemon. You do not have to use all the levels and your pokemon can be lower level than 10.

Note: This section is exclusively if you want to take things to pokemon showdown. It gets complicated if you are not familiar with online pokemon battling, and are not required if you don’t want to do battling outside of writing in character. Both trainers must agree to a showdown fight- Be adults. If someone wants to do a showdown battle and another doesn’t, see if you can compromise. If anyone has disputes, PM me and I can handle the situation with both of you. Move Rules- You can choose any four moves from the 8 in the pokemon’s application to have in battle. IV rules- All IVs are perfect IVS (aka at 31) unless you want them otherwise. EV Rules- You have 200 EVs to distribute per pokemon you are using in battle and can distribute up to 300 EVs to a single pokemon. For example, if it’s a battle of three pokemon, you can have two pokemon with 300 EVs and one pokemon with no EVs. Item Rules- You cannot have mega stones, z-crystals, or “one-of a kind” items. (I.E Plates, Drives, Griseous Orbs, etc.) Items can be found in world and are given out as prizes. You are allowed any amount of berries if you do not have any held items. Other things: If you are interested in getting involved with the secret organization, PM me! If you are interested in being a gym leader or elite four member, PM me! I will also be playing NPCs, and depending how relevant they become, I may put them in the relevant NPCs tab.
