He is prepared at any time to help out the crew with injuries, but is also usually wearing nothing more than a comfortable linen shirt with a leather belt that has all of his medic's tools. Though, if he is needed for any kind of fighting he has no problem throwing on his old armor, picking up his weapons, and charging in with just as much fervor as the rest of the crew.

Well a lot of people seem to be rather intimidated by my size, but once they get to know me, even a small bit, it's pretty obvious that I'm pretty laid back. While I'm not a pushover by any means I see having a good bedside manner as one of the most important parts of my job. However, this kindness shouldn't be taken for leniency or weakness, if my crew mates are under threat all bets are off, and the intimidating size really comes in handy then.

[b][color=0072bc]What are you like in a high stress situation?[/color][/b]
My job is high stress, especially in the middle of a battle. People come in injured and it's my job to make sure they can get back on their feet as quickly as possible, so I make a point to keep a calm and level head, it won't do anyone any good if I start panicking and can't heal. Besides, if I start to panic, then my patient starts to panic, and that isn't good for either of us now is it.

My best quality would have to be, as I said before, my kind bedside manner, and really just kindness in general. I like to think I'm one of the people on the crew that anyone can come to if they need a little bit of help and don't know who else to go to. I want to help out however I can, whether it be a bit of advice or a healing spell. Worst quality would probably be a bit of recklessness, not as much as when I was younger, but get me drunk and I make no guarantees that someone won't be pulling me off the railing of the ship as I attempt to leap off the side. I try to curb it as much as possible, but who doesn't want a little fun sometimes

[b][color=0072bc]What is something about yourself that you would never admit to anyone?[/color][/b]
While I don't keep my background a secret, I used to fight in gladiator pits, something I will never tell people is what kind of atrocities I had to commit to stay alive there. While most people would probably shoot back "It was self defense!" it really wasn't, not to me. There's a reason why I decided to become a cleric and a medic, if I can do anything at all to make up for the number of people, innocent and not, that I killed in the pits I'll do it.

My dream would be to get free from my past most of all, stop the nightmares that haunt me. Maybe start up my own clinic or temple to Melora. Something that would add some good to the world rather than take it away or add something bad.

I want to be seen as a kind and trustworthy person. More than just an ally but an actual friend to those that I work with, and even to people I may not have known for long. I'm well aware of my shortcomings and I hope that makes me appear honest when a lot of people in this world as more likely to stab you in the back for a few pieces of gold.

On the best days I love what I do and I'm proud of my position and my faith. I can appreciate the person that I have become without dwelling too much on what I had to do to get here. On the worse days I can't help but think I made a mistake keeping myself alive in the arena and that someone in there deserved to live much more than I did.

I used to make snap judgement, best way to stay alive, but now I know the value of stopping for a bit and figuring out the whole of a situation before deciding what to do. When it comes to healing it's a bit different, as snap decisions can save lives, but with everything else I like to know the whole story, have it all laid out in front of me, before I commit to anything

As I said, the people I killed in the arena, some of them didn't want to be there any more than I did. They were just as scared as I was, some of them begged for mercy that I didn't give. I still remember all of their faces, I doubt I'll ever be able to forget them. That is something I expect to carry all the way to my grave.

Kindness should not need to be earned, it should be given even to those who may not deserve it.

[b][color=0072bc]Summary:[/color][/b] 
Avi was born on Orilon to the heads of one of the clans of farmers. They were rather tribal in their beliefs and highly respected nature; considering the crops they grew to be gifts from Melora. Avi always expected to grow up and take his father's place in the house, but fate seemed to have a different plan for him. When he was 16, their home, and a few of the neighboring plots, were raided by smugglers and bandits who burned the fields and captured those they could get their hands on, killing those who resisted. Avi is unsure what happened to his parents and siblings that night as the last thing he remembers is watching the fields burn down in front of him. He woke on the smugglers ship with several others from around his home. They took them to one of the more lawless systems, selling to the highest bidder for various different uses, slaves, fighters, etc. Working on the farm his whole life meant he was well built and strong which caught the eye of a master of the gladiator ring that ran fights for money and entertainment. 

He spent 10 years suffering in the ring, quickly learning that brutality was the only way one could survive. He did not want to fight, but when you had a choice between that and death it wasn't the most difficult decision. The main thing that kept him going in the ring was that he never lost his faith in his god. Somehow he knew that she would see him through all of this, and she did that, if not in the way he expected. When the pit masters found out he had healing abilities they tasked him with patching up the fighters to keep the fights going longer, but he also made sure that those who could not be saved didn't die in pain. He gained quite a reputation and eventually a following of fighters that no longer wanted to be in the ring. It took them another 2 years before they were able to spark a full rebellion and break out of the pits. It was violent and bloody, but they were free. Once they escaped they took the nearest ship they could and made their way back to the Esari system, all of them going their separate ways.

Avi decided to do what he could to help people, travelling the planets as a healer and missionary for Melora. He did a fair amount of good, but never felt like he was filling the empty spot where his family used to be. While treating someone they told him about this rumor that they had heard about a group called The Consortium, a group of people who live for freedom and adventure. The idea intrigued him so when he had the time  he made it to The Summer's Escape, and eventually found himself assigned to The Wayward Maiden.
