Connie is the academic type. She is kind to those who have earned her trust and usually believes in quid-pro-quo. For others, she is colder. It isn't that she is unkind; she just has a hard time being friends with people. A lot of people require their friends to be open with them, and her past is something she doesn't want to be transparent about. 

If someone is wrong about some fact, she will correct them. Often finding herself in awkward situations when correcting them. If someone does something she thinks isn't "right," she won't like them, and while she won't be mean to that person, they just become unimportant to her. There is only so much room for her to care.

Connie was born to a backwaters hick of a mother who believed God had punished her with Connie. Connie's father was unknown to Connie, and the source of Connie's abilities seen as the worst possibility of a deal between Satan and God. Connie's mother believed she was suffering as Job had, and to free herself of the curse, she must cleanse Connie. The woman's definition of cleansing grew worse as Connie's abilities grew. These abilities were never entirely under control, though.

Somehow word got to Connie's father, Andrew Winthrop, about her situation. How word got to him was never something he told Connie, but late in the night, he took the small 8-year old from her home and freed her. Andrew used a sling-ring. It turned out that he was part of the order that Doctor Strange would soon join. 

For the first few years after rescuing Connie, Andrew was a constant in her life. He did little without her, even going so far as to take time off 'work'. When Connie showed, she could control her innate magical ability under his tutelage Andrew was incredibly proud. However, her strength was in different magic than his. While she was good at transformation and crafting magical items, Andrew's skill lay in healing magic. From him, Connie did learn a fair amount of healing magic, but it never came easily to her. 

Eventually, Andrew was requested to return to the field. He asked that Connie be taught in the ways of protecting the Sanctums and her magical talents. Doctor Strange offered her a place in his Academy. Connie jumped at the chance. Her father while a bit nervous that Connie's personality would clash in a 'school' setting decided it might actually be the better choice. Giving her socialization with people her own age who were also different so she wouldn't have to hide her true nature.

[list][*] Transformation magic (objects and self, she has not transformed another person yet, but she is trying to figure out if she would be successful at it. She is capable of turning herself into a bird.)
[*] Magical item creation (Connie has only recently started finding that she has the skill to weave magic into items as she makes them. It came to her awareness when she had been sewing a hole in a skirt, and the stitching disappeared. She played around with it more and discovered that if she essentially willed an object to work a certain way as she made it, then it would do so to a higher degree. For example, a jacket that she 'wished' to be strong against bullets would be nearly impervious to damage from one. It would still transfer kinetic damage, but the bullet wouldn't pierce through.)
[*] Healing Magic (the weaker of her talents, but still capable of keeping a person from bleeding out if needed)
[*] Andrew says that the family's power comes from a gift from a deity many generations back. The family still recognizes her in their private rituals.
