	The Jashinist's infiltration of the Land of Iron seemed to all but happen overnight. The demise of the Supreme General shook a once sturdy reign, and now the invisible hand of the church may very well engulf the nation of samurai. Yasuke, though never claiming to align with any religion, is unexpectedly. thrust into the cross-hairs of the church. Sosuke Bikura, a former Kumogakure jounin, once renown as The Surgeon of Death during the period of Kumo's border wars, loses everything when he becomes a whistle blower against the government. Having exposed countless incidences of unwarranted violence against village natives, Sosuke is forced to flee Kumo when an attempted assassination takes his wife. 
    
Sosuke spent ten years in the Land of Iron, seeking asylum and working under the government as a medical professor for its prestigious university. But when his daughter and himself are suddenly abducted in the middle of the night, Sosuke is once again threatened by government with secrets to protect. 
  
 Resurfacing many years later, a shaken Sosuke sends a mysterious message to a former student. The doctor believes that Yasuke Kure is responsible for his daughter's abduction. His only uncertainty: Yasuke and his relation to not only the country's daimyo, but the Jashinist's and their Church of Final Atonement.

Background:
		Not once in his illustrious twenty year post as a medical ninja among Kumogakure's Peace Corps Division did Sosuke foresee a future life on the run.  The medical ninja that gained infamy in the border wars, given the moniker The Surgeon of Death at the height of his notoriety, only ever desired a simple existence. For much of his life Sosuke acted out of necessity, always making the appropriate judgment in a situation. His rationality and the air of competency he carried quickly gained the attention of the military's upper echelon. All of his sudden he was given more missions, assigned to high risk areas where a majority of border conflicts originated. Though his wife and daughter suffered from the time apart, Sosuke came to find kinship among his fellow comrades. The daily struggle for survival in war torn sites had mended friendships that would never have existed in the outside world. Though a rational man, Sosuke secretly harbored a tender disposition, and adhered to strict code of morality as a physician. 
		
	Throughout Kumogakure's border wars, the number of deaths ran into the thousands, but when a startling number of civilians were killed as a result of violence, Sosuke could not remain silent. Always a calculating man, he had noticed discrepancies in the official report of violence deaths in the region. Investigating further, Sosuke uncovered the precise death toll as well as countless cover ups by the upper branch of government, detailing sanctioned operations to weaken the infrastructure and services of villages in the border regions.  When his identity as a whistle blower was officially leaked, Kumo's Anbu had intersected the Bikura family in their attempts to flee the country. Even the Surgeon of Death was but a man, powerless against the reality that human life is frail. Sosuke escaped with his life and his daughter's that day but lost his wife in the process. He has spent the last ten years seeking asylum in the Land of Iron, paying off his freedom as a university medical professor. [/hider]
