Piper had a tough time making it through the crowd towards Sarah, as most people were frozen in confused and wonder at the display going on in front of their eyes. As Piper got closer, the screens that lined the arena of Hearthome City flickered on, and a face shadowed in darkness appeared on the screen. Behind the silhouette of a man was a symbol the unknown to Piper, and most people of Sinnoh.

"People of Hearthome City," The deep, distorted voice bellowed. "I would like to congratulate you for being the first people to witness a revolution for Pokemon biology, as we will demonstrate with the Gym Leader Volkner's and Gym Leader's Emily's Pokemon."

The rainbow energy now consumed both Electivire and Flareon, and with a brilliant flash of light, the two let out a a cry of pain, and their new forms were revealed.

"What the..." Volkner stepped back, half in awe and half in fear at his transformed pokemon.

"Excellent," The voice continued. "Our forced mega evolution was a success. Unfortunately for our gym leaders, they won't be able to control them..."

The newly mega evolved pokemon roared a frightening roar and started to cause havoc. People began to flee from the platform as bots of electricity cackled from Mega-Electivire's hands towards the screens in the arena. Mega Flareon flew up into the air with its new wings and shot fire throughout the air.

The crowd began to panic and run away, making it even harder for Piper to make her way to the front. Once she finally got there, she saw the normally calm Volkner panicking and looking around for something. He finally locked eyes with Piper, who he rushed towards and handed the egg he was carrying. 

"Keep this safe!" Volkner told her, reaching for the pokeballs on his belt. He turned towards his raging Electivire and threw out a pokeball. "Luxray, I need your bring Electivire under control now!"

Emily heard screams coming from the arena next to her stand, followed by a mob of people fleeing from what was supposed to be the presentation. A couple people fell down and barely had time to get back up before being trampled to death.

Meanwhile, Emily's Ditto and Haunter scanned around the area. Almost everyone was running from the Arena, but the two pokemon noticed a couple people just standing and watching. Two in particular stood out, and unattended boy and girl, who were whispering to each other about something. The two pokemon could get closer at the risk of being detected.
