Full Name: Mordechai Yakovi Yudais Nickname: Mor, Chai (pronounced with the hebrew chet, not like High or Chai like the tea) Age: 18 Year: Senior Gender: Male Height: 5'10" Sexuality: Bisexual Appearance: Striking blue eyes and pale skin are contrasted by his messy, pitch black hair, which is longer on the top of his head while remaining trimmed on the sides. He has an athletic, lithe build that tends to fill the school uniform. Dislikes: Running, bright lights(such as morning sunlight straight through his window), long lectures with no reading involved, chatter mouths, heat and humidity. Likes: Puzzles, mystery/crime books, case files, reading ahead in class, upper body workouts(he can still read and do what he enjoys while doing these, unlike with running), Rummikube and similar games. Skills: Can read over a large amount of information at a quick rate while retaining what was read, but if he gets too focused he looses any awareness of the world around him, he has missed classes by forgetting to set an alarm to bring him out of his research stupors. Gift: Pattern recognition/detection. Personality: While a bit of a shut in while going through information and things of interest, Chai can actually be quite social in his downtime. He likes to make people laugh and feel good while also locking away the information he gets on them, but if people talk too long about nothing in particular, he gets a bit irritated and cuts the conversation short; why talk so long while giving the other person no real information to digest, after all? He can be protective of the younger students if he sees issues arising, but is less motivated to help those in his own year as he feels they should be able to figure things out themselves at this point. History: Mordechai grew up in a single parent home as an only child, his mother having passed shortly after his birth. Living in a small town with more crime than the small Sherrif's office could really handle, his father would often bring cases home to go over. As he grew up, he would begin to read case files more than actual books- though his father made sure the more gruesome ones stayed out of his reach. At an early age, he would point out patterns in the evidence that even his father and the deputies might have missed, overworked as they were. The department would lovingly call him their 'Little Detective' and reward him with treats and toys when he pointed things out, and he was there after school often enough that he got plenty of attention and affection from his father's deputies. They even bought him a little deputy uniform that he put on when he arrived after school,, making him feel like a real part of the team. As he grew older, he began sneaking his father's more...graphic case files. He enjoyed the challenge while trying his best not to get sick over the photo evidence. When he first presented his father with a murder case he had solved, the Sheriff had begged his now 12 year old son to never go over those types of cases without his permission, worried of the effects such information would have on his young mind and health. Upset with this but still understanding, Chai would bring each file that caught his interest to his father for approval, and received many crime novels to fill in the rest of his boredom and curiosity. Realizing that the local schools couldn't keep his son's interest or keep him motivated, Sheriff Yudais began looking into private schools as well as 'unconventional' schools, hoping to find one that would keep his son wanting to learn and progress. When stumbled across Welligton Academy, he thought he must be dreaming; this place sounded perfect for his son, and accepted people of all walks of life- for which his bank account was very grateful. Mordechai, on the other hand was rather resentful of this, wanting to stay with his father and the department, helping them where they needed and keeping his 'family' whole. If this was what his dad really wanted, however, he relented to at least giving the entrance exam a shot. The only problem was that there was no entrance exam, he simply went with his father to apply and got an acceptance letter later. His freshman year was rather tumultuous for him, as it was the first time he didn't have case files and mysteries to solve, as well as the first time he was away from his dad and the deputies. A rebellious streak no one knew he had showed its face, and Mordechai found himself skipping classes to read his books, and falling asleep in the classes he did go to. After many ignored warnings, Mordechai finally got fed up and ran out of the school, even shoving aside several students to do so. He called his father once he was off the grounds and begged him to pick him up, all but crying when his father refused, demanding he go back to the school. He didn't return until well after curfew, dragging mud and water all through his cottage. He hoped it would be enough that they decided to send him home, but he was instead given a Weller Moon for harming his fellow students and running away the way he did. The next week he began to take the school seriously, and came to realize he actually quite enjoyed it; he often ruminates on his lost time there while he was being spiteful. After that, he grew into himself and became a more active student and peer, working hard in his studies and leaving himself open to friends and acquaintances. He and his father talk on the phone daily and he even gets a video call from the deputies now and then. They send him gifts that keep his mind occupied and make sure that he is doing well at the academy, ensuring he doesn't feel closed off and run away again. Now as a senior he continues to bloom and show promise, making up for his freshman year while trying to make sure current freshman are making it through better than he did. Weller stars: 3 Weller moons: 1 Cottage: [Leave this blank until I assign you to your cottage] What did you pack?: Crime novels, a puzzle box, the honorary deputy badge given to him by the department, framed picture of him and his father, framed picture of him and the deputies.
