What began as a hobby and slight academic interest in birds became days, weeks, months, of listening to recordings of birds or observing them in person and picking up on their unique calls and sounds. She was allowed to listen to birds for as long as she fed her parents the lie that it helped her with her own music. Often Evey can be seen smiling when the season changes and the variety of bird songs flutter into her ears. [/sub] [/cell][cell]

•p e r s o n a l i t y
If ever there was someone who looked like the kind of person that Wellington Academy was made for, it's Evey Albright. The raven-haired junior has a stride that's as confident as it is proper and dainty, like someone out of a fairy tale. The aura she gives off is one of a being from a different walk of life which has given Evey a bit of a reputation as an 'untouchable' or specificall someone who is 'unapproachable' or, as it commonly gets diluted down to: an ice princess. She does little to disprove this common assessment though it's debatable if she even knows the rumor surrounding her anyway, but she is distant and doesn't seem to have many friends. People who wish her a good morning or say hello in passing are ignored on a good day. But because she doesn't come off as malicious, it's difficult for people to consider her as rude or bitchy and some think her icy exterior only adds to her appeal. Evey is quiet in the sense that she doesn't tend to talk in lessons or between them but she's still sociable in spite of everything. There's hardly a school social event that she isn't at even if she doesn't interact much with others - she still attends them with a gentle smile and eyes that look wistful. It's perhaps because of her status as an 'ice princess' that she doesn't have that friendship or social life that young people flock to. Suitors and admirers and all that in-between are one thing, but it's not what she's looking for. Still, Evey is happy when people show up to support the musical students and she just might have to live with that being the closest she's yet come to having any connection with others.
•h i s t o r y
Evey didn't come from a family of means despite the formal, fancy sounding name but that fact didn't stop her parents from placing an almost inhumane amount of pressure on their young daughter to make something of the Albright name. Evey is the second child of two. Her older brother was well on his way to being a composer as well as a member of a nationally recognized orchestra but he traded the cello for a bass guitar and eventually traded the bass guitar for heroin and an eventual overdose. Evey was still in single digits when her brother died. At his funeral she remembered only that everyone seemed so sorry, people she didn't recognize coming up to her and her parents to give condolences and that made her laugh. Everyone looked at her like she had done some great offense, but all Evey could do was laugh. Evey inherited her brother's cello but her parents started making her attend piano lessons and by the time she was in middle school she was giving recitals and a fast tracked musical education. Come junior high she was set to try her hand at writing her own pieces. Her father, who never quite recovered from the death of his son, was stuck in a construction job tearing up and repaving roads under the hot sun while her mother was the one who constantly pushed her daughter to excel musically, often while her hands were clutched around an always full glass of wine. To say that music was a passion of Evey's would be a lie. Music was never and still isn't her passion but it's what she's settled into. When she plays piano at Wellington or in her spare time, the music is certainly technically sound and pleasing, but there's just something missing that keeps her from reaching that level of the greats. Or even the incredibly goods. But it's all she knows and it's what keeps the peace in her house so what can she do except play the piano, make music, and excel? Attending Wellington has been, to date, the only active act of independence Evey has had. Her parents, her mother, wanted her to attend a fancy conservatory but Evey managed to convince her that Wellington was just as prestigious and rounded. Really she just wanted a place where she could escape the pressures of her expectations and perhaps gain the youthful experiences she so desperately craved but even at Wellington she found herself sinking further into the pit of expectations culminating in her being a fixture in the musical arts department since Freshman year. But if it makes people happy to hear her play then...the show must go on.

•cottage
-
•what did you pack?
Various songbooks, a binder of birds indigenous to the region as well as just other birds, a recording device, a metronome with a bird pattern, four hats

theme song Weller Stars: 2

[/cell][/row]

Freddie

[row][/row][row][cell] Frederica Cecilia Tewksbury ▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔ 16 | Female | 5'9" | Open-Minded | Sophomore ▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔ Dislikes[sub][sub]♦[/sub] Hard candies. While she doesn't have a photographic memory, she has no trouble memorizing the lines of a performance she's cast in and can memorize her lines after one to two readthroughs yet she can't seem to remember anything learned in class even as she takes notes...when she does take notes. Freddie is also conversationally fluent in Spanish. Learning a foreign language was an act of defiance since her parents said she had no reason to learn to speak the languages of the uncivilized and Freddie thought that was reprehensible. [/sub] gift[sub][sub]♦[/sub] Well suited to her passion, Freddie has the gift of vocal mimicry - or specifically vocal accent mimicry. While lacking those that require a language she doesn't speak, Freddie can replicate regional accents like southern American, midwestern, cajun, various European accents, and even cockney. It widens her potential in acting while also being a fun party trick. When she does her accents, it's never in a mocking tone, she fully immerses herself into the role - such as it is. [/sub] [/cell][cell]

•p e r s o n a l i t y
Freddie wouldn't describe herself as a 'tomboy' as she doesn't particularly care about labels but the glove, show, and every other article of clothing certainly fits in this regard. Apart from wearing more typically masculine clothes up to and including the academy uniform, her hair is cut short with the uneven clips that suggest a mirror and scissors is her preferred stylist, and on days when she's wearing shorts and her loose fitting, figure-hiding clothes it's not uncommon to see nicks, scrapes, and dirt on the knees. Her voice has a rough husk to it that completes the checkbox of tomboy attributes and adds to the 'handsome girl' appeal that is present in Freddie's being. Despite her age, Freddie has a certain cool maturity about her that gives her the illusion of being an upperclassman, though that is often betrayed by the moments where her sillier side slips through, such as when she's willing to go to self deprecating physical comedy to get a laugh out of someone - because in Freddie's mind the best way to cheer someone up (in most, not all, cases) is to make them laugh, or the way her voice reaches high pitches when watching horror movies. Freddie can't claim to be a top student academically but she's someone who would much rather go hang out with some ducks by a pond than study or do homework and she's only managed to complete many assignments by using her own unique brand of appeal to borrow notes. There's always someone who enjoys a handsome, free spirited tomboy and hearing Freddie earnestly thank them for helping has been a terrific boon. The Freddie that walks around the academy on a daily basis is almost a completely different person than the Freddie who steps on stage. n stage, when Freddie is acting in whatever role she is cast, has a commanding sort of presence and theater is one of the few things she clearly takes seriously. She has an uncanny ability to be cast in roles that are written for males and that's never stopped her from putting her all into every performance. If only she could channel that passion into he coursework, she'd be a tremendous threat.
•h i s t o r y
Frederica knew she hated her name as soon as she was old enough to know better. There was just something about the name 'Frederica' that seemed...off to her, but it was the name she was given so she made the best of it. In retrospect, her issues with her name should've been a warning that she and her family were like oil and water. Freddie doesn't hate her parents or siblings, but the only thing she has in common with them is the family name. For people who are in the know, the Tewksbury name is a bit of a known quantity. The Tewksbury name is spoken of in high society as a very 'old money' sort of family. Freddie wasn't just born with a silver spoon, the silver spoon was what she dunked into the cereal bowl every morning. The youngest child of the current line of Tewksbury, Freddie had certain obligations she was expected to follow. All the daughters of Martin and Abigail Tewksbury were expected to be proper ladies of high society. Debutante balls, proper posture, speaking like someone who thought it was still the era where women did little other than marry at thirteen and die at twenty eight. Her sisters took to it. Her mother was a natural at it. Freddie could not stand it. Freddie was immediately the black sheep, spending holiday dinners or even regular dinners contributing only the sound of her fork scraping the plate as she speared some peas into the conversations. Rather than attending proper lady lessons, Freddie hung out at a youth center - which of course was seen as unbecoming given that there were poor people's children there, but Freddie loved running around kicking a ball and playing tag and coming home with skinned knees even if it got her a mouthful from her mother as their housekeeper helped Freddie clean her scrapes. It was through the youth center that Freddie fell in love with acting. The youths put on a performance of Treasure Island and Freddie got cast as Jim Hawkins. Her parents didn't show up. Her siblings didn't either. But she didn't care. When the other parents applauded - even though it was hardly Broadway - Freddie felt...amazing. Her family life isn't any better but a place like Wellington at least has the appearance of some higher institute of learning but really Freddie likes it because she doesn't have to feel like an outcast. At Wellington, no one looks down on her for being unladylike. At Wellington, it's like she's living at the youth center for months at a time. And no one is making her wear dresses or yells at her for sitting backwards in chairs. Drawing, specifically the design of characters and attires; Chick's sketchbook is full of characters and style. Someone close to Chick once said the sketchbook looked like something out of 'Tite Kubo's fantasies' and Chick didn't know if he should be insulted or flattered. Does it count as a skill that Chick can make his voice sound deep and gravely? It probably does only in the sense that normally his voice is part of the reason why he got the nickname 'Chick' in the first place. Chick has never lost a game of 'Six Degrees'. [/sub] gift[sub][sub]♦[/sub] Is it a gift to have an impeccable eye for fashion down to also designing and creating custom outfits for himself and others? Perhaps. Chick is something of a makeover queen and a wiz at using otherwise ordinary or drab and cheap material to create outfits that work. Has he gotten paid for this? Not yet, but the compliment and thanks is all he really needs as he does it for love and passion. That said his actual gift is knowing the name of every constellation in four different cultures along with their mythology.[/sub] [/cell][cell]

•p e r s o n a l i t y
Perhaps the first word that comes to mind when one thinks about Chick is 'soft' but that does him a bit of discredit. Sure, his features are a bit on the softer side and he is something of an excessive hugger (which is equally as soft) but that doesn't mean he's thinskinned. In fact the opposite is true. Chick, largely by necessity, is fairly thick-skinned but even he has his limits. He can handle people making fun of him within reason - there's a difference between good natured bantering and mean spirited insults and unfortunately he had to deal with a lot of the latter to get to where he is which, incidentally, made him fairly decent at the former. Chick will never insult someone purposely but he will absolutely try and make them laugh before fishing for compliments and playing the bashful, blushing bride. So to speak. Chick's worst trait, in his own estimation, is his uncanny ability to fall for someone hard even if he knows that it can't happen or won't happen be it due to clashing orientations or the fact that people in their late thirties should absolutely not think of people underage in that way. Chick, thus, is also afraid to take a chance on matters of the heart. He might have thick skin but rejection is a terrible thing and he can't handle it, he would rather pine from the sidelines than risk it and that makes him a person with a tremendous amount of love in his heart but who thinks no one would want to love him in return. He gravitates towards compliments and hugs as something of an outlet for these feelings.
•h i s t o r y
The story of Chick's birth is, by his admission, a depressing story so he prefers to simply say that his parents loved him so much that they realized they would be depriving someone else from his presence. That, of course, is a load of garbage but it sounds much nicer than 'Chick's parents were too young to be parents and rather than go through the adoption process they wanted to just leave him at the hospital for the pediatrician's to figure it out.' Fortunately, Chick had grandparents who stepped in and because of the youth of his parents, Chick's grandparents were basically the same age as everyone else's parents. That age, of course, being 'older than 30 so they might as well be ancient'. Chick's grandmother owns a cafe and bakery in the small mountain town where he lives. His grandfather inches closer to retirement by the day but he put in his time as the owner of a car dealership though his real joy was in assistant coaching the high school baseball team - Chick's grandfather was, prior to a car dealer, a major league baseball player; though he only lasted two and a half seasons it was enough to go to the World Series and if it wasn't for him blowing out his arm in game seven he might've had a much more prosperous career. Though Chick enjoyed baseball (and still does), he felt more comfortable helping out in his grandmother's cafe. Chick knew the drink menu by heart by age seven and by age eight he could make half the drinks on said menu though he personally didn't enjoy drinking them. But what eight year old liked coffee? Chick knew he was 'different' at a young enough age to where his grandparents weren't surprised when they had the talk. While they were supportive (his grandfather was, at the time, visibly disappointed but he made the attempt to understand), his schoolmates were not. At first they made fun of his height and his 'chick voice', then they made fun of him wearing 'chick colors' to school, which then became making fun of him for showing up one day having clearly put makeup on just to see what it was like, and it wasn't much longer before 'chick' became something else entirely. Middle school was torturous. One of the faculty members at his school just gave the advice of "act normal" which was what initially saw Chick look for other places to learn. The bullying grew so constant and harmful - escalating beyond words - that Chick made the choice to seek out private school. Fortunately, Wellington allowed him to enter as a sophomore. While initially preferring to be called 'Chuck' because his grandfather thought it would make him sound 'tougher', Chick has taken the derogatory 'chick' moniker and made it his own.
