The major draw of the class was the ability to produce and maintain 'ancient, mythical and forgotten' technology, allowing the Enginseer to develop technologies both modern (in relation to the real world) and beyond (via possible future tech or technology that was so advanced as to appear magical). While the class was never popular because its perks required a lot of resources and time to prepare in advance and the war machines were never quiet as powerful as a dedicated spellcaster of the same level, the promise of being able to produce your own Automaton factory and arm your creations with guns and tanks always drew some in. The Null Pariah class actually had its start as a glitch in that it was never intended for players to have it. Originally, the only being in YGGDRASIL to have the class of Null was a raid boss; An ogre who was simply known by the title of Breaker of Magic. The lore was that the BoM had survived contact with an unknown, hidden world item that had cursed him with an aura that negated all magic and its effects, effectively creating an area around the boss where magic couldn't exist. The boss was effectively immune to spell casters, with passive magical effects like enchantments and potions fading and creatures that relied on magic to exist (such as standard undead) simply had the magic torn out of them, effectively banishing/destroying them the moment they entered the aura. The plan was that the developers were planning to add something in the next patch to weaken the aura/boss fight after all the backlash of how broken the boss was, but the BoM was downed by a randomly recruited raid party of players who were recruited solely because their skills and abilities weren't magic dependent before then. The raid group of players should have all parted ways and that would have been the end of things... but Bright_Ops was apart of the raid and he had grown curious. While others looted treasure or sort out different areas of the raid for more bosses, Bright_Ops looked into the BoM's records and maps... and actually managed to figure out where the world item that had cursed the BoM was located. Informing the rest of the raid (or at least those who were still around), they went to the location and found it, allowing themselves to be 'cursed' by it and gaining the Null class. The Developers had taken a shortcut when making the BoM in that in order to get his ability to function, they had needed to actually make a World Item that actually gave whoever interacted with it but they had intended to put it somewhere that players couldn't access by phasing it out of the game servers... but someone messed up and it was actually in the world. They hadn't even given it a name. When the next patch came around, they phased the item out as intended but the Null class had already gotten to the players. Instead of stripping them of the class, the developers granted those who had managed to locate the world item and get the class the 'Null Pariah' class on the characters who found it. The class effectively did what the BoM did; A character with Null Pariah had an aura that canceled out magic in both active and passive forms. While having it was seen as a prestigious thing, most players 'blessed' with it developed other characters due to the fact that since the aura couldn't be turned off they couldn't be buffed, healed or teleported via magic and while highly useful under certain circumstances they were generally not welcome in every day parties and raids where they would interfere with friendly spell casters and enchantments as readily as they messed with enemies. Equipment: Please describe some of your favorite equipment in your kit. Armor, weapons, magic items, consumables-- whatever you'd like to declare to give us an idea of what you use. In-Game Backstory: Please regale us with a brief recollection of your times playing Yggdrasil. What kind of player you were, how you spent your days logged in, maybe how you spent your days logged out-- anything you'd like to declare to give us an idea of who you were. Cohorts Players may have a retinue of NPCs leftover from their guildhalls, traveling days, or towns where they stayed. If you would like, please list the names of your most notable NPCs and give a few sentences about how they were designed, and who they are now. You may choose to play them, or you may opt for the GM to play them. Final Note What were you doing before the time ran out for Yggdrasil?
[@Disciple Cain] before I develop my character further, I just want your ruling on my classes. Namely the pair of Rare Classes. Just want to make sure they're okay.
