Mariah scrambled like an egg, Claudette shield herself in the distance, the catapult girl went purple and catapulted herself into the air. Kara herself? On the ground as that thing raged around like it owned the damn place. She was tumbling over her feet to turn around and run, when something - she didn’t know what, but something blasted the everloving Christ out of the lizard, thankfully Kara’s back was turned. She almost fell back over again from the sheer might of that blast. Her brain was mostly in autopilot mode, as she was only aware that these things could happen for a matter of hours as of now. Kara’s ears rung for a few seconds when she turned around to see the thing’s tail up in the air, a big purple mass of bones up there grabbing it like...like a cat? The entire coven was in chaos trying to run and this thing was just being held by...Madison?! Just how hard could that girl have thrown Kara if she really wanted to? Was that her abstraction? Seeing that monster made her heart pound, but seeing Madison keep it pulled back only made things run faster and faster through her mind. Is this really what the coven was? Was this really the amount of chaos that could emerge from being in the coven? These were the kind of things that took Kara back, these people no doubt put up with this stuff every day. This mess, this monster could have just been a tip of the iceberg that Kara hasn’t even scratched the surface of, something had to be done. Surely Madison wouldn’t be able to keep that giant at bay forever? Kara had to do something... Her abstraction...How fast could she...
”Everyone get out of here!”
Madison was protecting them. Seeing this lone woman so much as dare to put up a fight against something so beyond Kara’s own imagination for the sake of others stirred something in her. Normally, she would resonate with this, but the Leviathan was not a high school bully, and Kara was not Madison. Kara rattled her brain, thinking if she could help or not. Time to find out... Kara squared her breaths, took a few seconds to steel herself, and ran. She ran until there were almost 30 feet in front of her and the Leviathan. It was huge, but maybe this could work...Kara kneeled down and slammed her palms into the dirt, wood writhing through her arms, her fingers, her hands, and into the ground. Strands of muddy brown roots growing thicker and thicker permeated the ground as Kara rooted herself in place, the rumblings would be drowned out by this thing’s footsteps, more and more of her abstraction was poured into the earth so strongly, and so fastly that it almost hurt her hands to form wood that fast. Kara has never used her abstraction this fast, but the others were running for their lives, and Madison was the only one doing anything about it. In all honesty, the scene was inspiring. Kara felt motivated to fight this thing seeing Madison go up against it. The ground at the Leviathan’s feet started to break up, like something was trying to erupt. Kara never did this kind of thing, but she was going to try and trap the Leviathan with... Roots.
”Agh! R-run!”
All at once, very thick and fluid tendrils of wood and bark blasted out of the ground, connected to Kara’s hands, with the hope to wrap around the limbs and head of the creature to restrain it. The pain in Kara’s hands was indescribable, but it was either this, or something else bad happened. The roots reached out more and more to entangle the Leviathan, slowly wrapping around its legs, it was slow of course, so it wasn’t likely to work, but Kara kept pushing her abstraction, trying to help as best she could. The roots were barely grabbing the legs, and just barely even reached its tail. Hopefully, Madison could keep it down for at least a while longer. ”D-don’t let go!” She screamed between painful sensations to Madison, unsure if she could actually hear with all the chaos going on. Kara focused on fighting the pain that stemmed from pushing her abstraction so hard, would this even work in the end? Probably not, either way Kara’s hands would definitely be injured in some fashion afterwards, but it was worth a shot.
