[center][sup]The Gay Grove[/sup][/center]

Not a single fuck was cast in the general direction of the rest of the Coven as Mariah, splashing about in the muddy field, sprinted into the woods at full gait. Branches whipped painfully at her face and legs but she didn't notice-- a flash came from behind her but she continued to run. It was only when she planted a foot down and it sank in up to her knee that her retreat was stopped. Soon, there followed a moutful of Surprise Florida Swamp water, the ruining of her outfit, and the heavy gasp for air. Panting, Mariah pushed herself up onto her knees then struggled to stand. Her eyes fell onto her umbrella, sinking into the muddy water-- twisted and broken-- and she watched it in a long moment of silence. 

Patting herself down, Mariah pulled her phone out, as screaming errupted behind her. Between the Surprise Swamp water, mud, and adrenaline shaking hands, she struggled to text before screaming at the phone, then swiping to send a call. Turning to glance behind herself, Mariah soon realized she had dashed quite a ways into the woods, and only a few pieces of shapes could be glimpsed through the foliage. Figuring it for the best, she began walking to the right of herself, with the thought that she could simply go around and outright avoid the mess on the field, if she simply stayed in the trees. 

[color=#F3128D]"What the fuck answer the phone,"[/color] she demanded loudly, her voice cracking with a sob, and she halted. Pressing a shaking hand to her mouth as hot tears streamed down her face, Mariah hung up as the call went to voicemail, and immediately sent it again. Trudging through the swamp, as the rain poured down, she continued walking on a path to circle around through the woods-- hopefully-- and get back to where the cars were without drawing the attention of the... what the [i]fuck[/i] was that? What was it? What? [i][b]WHAT?[/b][/i]

When the phone yet again ended on a voicemail notification, Mariah made a wordless noise of frustration and fear mingled, before shakily moving to call another contact. Yet again, her foot sank into an Unexpected Forest Swamp Puddle-- all the way up to her ankle but thankfully the water was warm. 

[color=#C2A7AF]"Haaay, girl! I was just 'bout to call you,"[/color] Maxwell answered warmly, [color=#C2A7AF]"Whatcha want for dinner?"[/color] Mariah sobbed loudly as she stepped further into the warm swamp-- pieces of weird Florida swamp matter crunching under her feet. Concerned, Max asked, [color=#C2A7AF]"Aw, shit. What's wrong? That boy done did somethin' stupid, huh? As usual?"[/color]
[color=#F3128D]"Nada. Max just,"[/color] Mariah sniffed, [color=#F3128D]"Jus keep talkin' I--"[/color] Mariah's shaky hand in combination with the water practically LAUNCHED the phone into the swamp water.

Her breath caught as she looked down. 

[color=#C2A7AF]"Mariah?"[/color] 

She could hear his voice, despite the phone not being on speaker, as the device rested atop a bloody mound of pink and red meat. Patches of fur, wet by the rain and the water, stood out to Mariah as the butchery seemed to expand slowly toward Mariah. Startled, she stepped back, then looked down as blood splashed from such a heavy step. Bones and blood-- fur and broken skulls-- the warm mass of mangled carnage lay around her up to her ankles. 

[color=#C2A7AF]"Mariah? Hello?"[/color]

Slowly the mass expanded and contracted here and there-- moving as if it were breathing-- as gently a chorus of whispers began. Increasing in volume, as the chorus stood out in a cacophony of animal sounds-- barks, chirps, howls, chitters, human screams-- Mariah soon found herself joining in the screaming as the apparition demanded, [color=#FFA7D2]"*•.¸♡ 𝐇υg-gᶤ𝔢ร... Ĥυ𝕘-𝐆𝔦𝔢 ฬ𝓾𝓰Ꮆ-𝓲Ｅ𝐒-- Ｇ丨-ﻮ𝒾𝔳𝐄 Ⓤˢ Ĥ𝐮ⓖｇ𝓘𝔼 ŴùｇǤ丨𝔼ˢ! ♡¸.•*"[/color]

Horrified, Mariah snatched her phone up from the ground, taking a handful of decaying flesh with it, as the apparition went on to screech, [color=#FFA7D2] 	               "(¯`*•.¸,¤°´✿.｡.:* гαωℝ ι𝔫 ᗪ𝔦ηØs𝔞𝐔尺 ⓜｅ-𝔞𝓃Ⓢ𝓢𝔰ˢ-- 𝕚- ㄥ-ᒪ-𝓵𝕆ＶⒺ! 𝕪𝓸υ! *.:｡.✿`°¤,¸.•*´¯)"[/color]
