I understand that. I'm the same way. A lot of things break down quickly because of planned obsolescence, but I don't know if that's the only reason why windows computers have such short lifespans.

The only potential downside to Mac computers is that they can't handle online games, so if you're into those, you may not want one. I personally don't play computer games at all, so it isn't an issue for me, but I know a lot of people on this site are gamers, so I figured it's worth mentioning.
