Vlad nodded his head once in response to the trickster. “Good. Then I will have a search party ready to go to pick up any stragglers. I should have done it when they were in the loop, but I couldn’t risk having them trapped there. In any case, you will go with them to make sure all goes according to plan. However, if we fail, you need to conjure up some illusions so that my guards can get away. But first, I want you to start assigning captives to their torturers. ” At that moment, a familiar voice rang through the halls, and a small smile flashed across the Vampire’s face. “Now, if you will excuse me, I have a daughter to attend to.” With that, he turned and left. Not even a few minutes after stepping out of the trickster’s room, Vlad saw his ‘daughter’ Liliah bounding through the hallway. The smile returned to his face as he stooped down and picked the little girl up. “Ah! There she is! How are you this morning, pumpkin? Did you sleep well? Shall we get something to eat?” Vlad looked down at his fairly new daughter with something no one would ever see from him; love. Had she been a human, he wouldn’t have cared that she was being taken to the cells to be starved, but she wasn’t. She was a supernatural. He couldn’t do something like that to a little supernatural girl. Plus, he always wanted a kid, and as soon as he saw her, he had a chance. She didn’t seem to notice (or if she had, she didn’t say anything) anything odd with the fact that he looked different from her real father, and that was okay with him. As soon as he set her down, he turned to the sound of quick footsteps approaching the two of them. It was Ivan. Ivan stopped a few feet in front of Vlad and his daughter and gave the small girl a nod before turning his attention back to his boss. “Sir, we have a situation. It seems that one of the inmates have escaped, and has started killing guards.” Vlad shook his head and sighed. “Well, you are head of security detail, are you not? Get on it. Now. I will not have an inmate causing a ruckus in my complex, so we will torture him publicly to make an example. Now take care of it.” As soon as Ivan left, he turned back to his ‘daughter’ and smiled. “So, how about that breakfast?” ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- A hand shot out to grab the pad and pencil, and quickly retracted, taking the stuff with it. Daniel picked up the pad and quickly sifted through the pages, looking for a blank piece. He stopped when he saw his name mentioned in the previous entry, and just stared at the words scrawled out onto the page. “ Oh, and there’s this guy I think about every now and then. I call him Daniel… this notepad doesn’t have enough paper to expand more on that one. but he was there, in the hotel, from day one with me. We’ve kissed a couple times. Maybe it was once, or never… I can’t quite remember, these years are getting to me but i know he’s kind of..close to me.” The vampire felt a lump in his throat as he read the small passage over and over again. After a few minutes, which actually seemed like an eternity to him, he picked up the pencil and quickly started writing, with a shaky hand, onto the piece of paper. KAORI! It’s me, Daniel. Listen. I don’t know what is happening. I just remember seeing this guy, and then the next thing I know, I was here. Locked up. They’ve been torturing me for days, not even telling me why I am here in the first place. I had been thinking of talking to you for a while now, but I didn’t even know if you would have responded, I didn’t even know it was you. Please tell me you are all right, and tell me what the Hell happened… ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Ivan, with a few other guards, got out of one of the service elevators leading to the dungeon, armed to the teeth. Not only did they have the standard tranquilizer guns, but they carried with them tazers, actual guns with silver bullets, net guns, nerve gas, gas masks, and knock-out gas. By the description of how he got out, they were able to tell the kind of tranquilizers they would need, so they were all stocked up with tranquilizers powerful enough to knock anyone out as soon as it was injected. With a quick signal, Ivan had them spread out to take multiple directions. Ivan, aside from Vlad, was the only one who knew the complex like the back of his hand. He not only oversaw the designing and construction, but being in the complex with often nothing to do left a lot of time to wander around, so of course even the difficult maze in the next level under the torture chambers was of no difficulty to him. Sooner or later, the footsteps of the escapee were able to be heard, and all four of the guards were on him immediately. Luckily, they managed to stop him in a hallway intersection, and all four of them raised their tranquilizer guns. Ivan stepped forward, and wordlessly shot a round into him. The other guards followed in their leader’s footsteps and fired as well. The darts made contact, and within seconds, the once free roaming blood wolf was on the floor, out cold. Ivan stepped over him and scoffed. He looked up at the guards and smiled. “Take him to the torture room. Strap him down good. Make sure he continues to take dosage of the tranquilizers until we need him. Get that supernatural, Cassius, to help you. Then tell him to report to me immediately in my office. Also, if you run into Leon, tell him to meet me as well.” He watched as the guards pulled the knocked-out blood wolf, then turned and walked back to the service elevator. Supernaturals these days. Such disorderly creatures. What ever happened to manners. We keep them alive, and this is how they repay us? By killing guards and trying to escape? Pitiful.
