Though she was still new to the West Coast, she had never felt more at home in her life. Shortly after the Hounds of Humanity had destroyed her shop in Crown Ridge, she picked up the pieces and took what little savings she had, and jumped on a bus out West. She had rented a motel room by the week with the savings she had, and after a couple of days of getting settled she had begun searching for work. Though she couldn't find anything that really suited her, she had applied to be a waitress at a busy seafood restaurant down near the pier called Capt's. When she met the owner of the place, a middle aged Samoan named JuJu, who was probably the happiest person that she had ever met, and had a propensity for wearing extremely loud Hawaiian shirts, she knew that she had found the right place. Apparently, JuJu had felt the same way, as he hired her on the spot and asked if she could start the next day. Almost immediately, Chrissy found that she loved her job. For the most part, and with few exceptions, the customers were great. Capt's clientele mostly consisted of tourists, as well as a good number of regulars, who not only came for the food, but for the establishment's well stocked bar. She also found that her coworkers were all very close, and they were more like a family than just simply people that worked together. JuJu treated the staff like his kids, except for Mike the book keeper, who was old enough to be JuJu's father. She had also bonded with one of the hostesses, a young blonde woman in her mid twenties named Stephanie. So much so, that when Stephanie's roommate suddenly moved out, she had asked Chrissy if she would be interested in taking the now vacant room in her apartment, which of course she did, as she couldn't wait to get away from the semi sleazy motel which she'd been calling home for the last few weeks. For the first time since she'd crash landed in the Lost Haven harbor and been found by the person who would become her very first friend on this planet, Chrissy finally felt that she was home. Which was an odd feeling in and of itself, since she had never really known a home, not in the sense that most humans would relate to, at any rate. From the day that she had been born, she had been raised to be a part of the Arlaaekan war machine. The Arlaaekans had once been a peaceful species, until a neighboring civilization forced them to flee their homeworld in massive starships before it was destroyed. Eventually, one Arlaaekan, unlike any other who had come before him, a being of immense power had risen through the ranks and became the unquestioned ruler of the newly nomadic species. Under his authoritarian leadership, the Arlaaekans became a militaristic species, developing new technologies and developing new methods for subjugating entire civilizations. Under the man who had become known only as The Autocrat, the Arlaaekans went from world to world, stripping the planets of their natural resources and exterminating the native inhabitants. Thousands of worlds had come to feel the might of the Arlaaekans, some fought back, but eventually, all of them had fallen. When she was a young girl, her father took notice of her special talents. According to him, her gifts would make her the second Arlaaekan, behind the Autocrat himself to be born with special abilities. Her father had been one of the Autocrat's most trusted generals, however, when he had learned of his daughters power, he wanted nothing more than to hide her from him. Yet, his devotion to the dictator had been so absolute that those initial thoughts quickly faded from his mind. He no longer thought of her as his daughter, rather he saw her as a tool for the vast Arlaaekan empire to exploit. She was simply a weapon for her, just another weapon of war. However, she refused to be used as a weapon. So she sneaked out of her chambers and had her way to one of the ship's hyperspace equipped escape pods, and without saying a word, left everything that she had known, and everyone that she had loved behind. When the pod crash landed in the Lost Haven harbor, she didn't know where she was, or how long she had been in the pod. She just knew that she was free. Eventually, she found herself in Crown Ridge where she was working as a sort of psychic healer, using her empathic abilities to read her customers in a way that seemed supernatural. Not long after that, she found herself forced to work with the heroes of her new homeworld to fight against the Hounds of Humanity, who had proven to be a true threat to anyone that appeared “different.” Yet, after the Hounds had been defeated, she found that she simply wanted to live her life in peace, for as long as she would be allowed, and she hoped against hope that she would never be forced to use her abilities against an enemy as ruthless as the Hounds of Humanity, or even her own people, ever again.
